Donald Trump has confirmed his attendance at this year’s Ryder Cup, adding more pressure on Team USA captain Keegan Bradley.
Team USA is set to face off against their European rivals at Bethpage next month, aiming to regain their title. Bradley has expressed the difficulty of making ‘the hardest decision’ of his life, as he contemplates whether to select himself as one of his captain’s picks.
Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler are expected to lead the home challenge under Bradley’s leadership, and Trump has weighed in on the captain’s dilemma.
On Truth Social, the President posted: “Keegan Bradley should DEFINITELY be on the American Ryder Cup Team – As Captain! He is an AMAZING guy. It will be a great Ryder Cup. At the invite of the PGA Tour, I will be there on Tournament Friday! ! ! President DJT.”
Bradley, who has hinted at two of his wildcard picks, discussed his big decision this week. His performance at East Lake seems to have complicated matters further.
“I want to put the team in the best position to win the Ryder Cup,” Bradley stated. “There’s sort of an unknown . . . It’s just a heavy decision. All the picks are tough. Pretty strange thing to pick yourself.
“I caught myself on the range today thinking about something I wanted to tell the team at Bethpage.
“I see a guy at the leaderboard and I remember who we’re thinking of pairing him with… It’s just a different unique experience. One I never expected, that’s for sure.
“We’re pretty confident with the picks that we have. One more day of golf to kind of finalize this whole thing, and I can’t wait. I’m done with this whole process. I want it over with either way.”

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy has revealed he has been in discussions with European captain Luke Donald regarding their strategy, thanks to their close proximity as neighbors.
McIlroy disclosed: “Luke and I live on the same street in Florida. We see each other all the time, so we talk about it a lot. I know what he wants from me, and I try to do that as best as I can.
“But I think just that continuity piece and we all know what we’re going to get whenever we turn up at Bethpage, which I think is reassuring for a lot of the players.”
