My favorite job was on the grounds crew in my early 20s. It was me and the sunrise and the grass, and when I mowed fairways the barn swallows would swoop down around me trying to catch bugs that I kicked up. It was so tranquil and peaceful. I will never forget early summer mornings all alone in the most beautiful setting imaginable.
