Fans were awaiting Tommy Fleetwood to embrace his wife Clare Fleetwood on the 18th green after securing his first win at the Tour Championship. Yet, Clare was not shown during the television broadcast as Tommy posted a historic win.
Tommy embraced his stepson Carlos in an emotional moment after finally ending his PGA Tour drought. It is worth noting that just because Clare was not shown during the broadcast, does not necessarily mean she was not in attendance at East Lake. Regardless, some fans have been curious about where Clare watched her husband win his first PGA Tournament.
Daily Mail’s Adrian Bishop discussed Clare’s potential absence.
“As he sunk his final putt to secure victory and take home a $10 million prize pot the 34-year-old was overcome by emotion and was embraced by friends and colleagues,” Bishop wrote on August 25, 2025. “One figure conspicuous by their absence during the triumphant moment was his wife of eight years, Clare.”

Tommy Fleetwood’s Wife Clare Is Also the Golfer’s Manager
Wherever Clare watched Tommy’s victory, the golfer’s longtime partner was likely thrilled with the outcome. Back in June, the PGA Tour shared a heartwarming moment of Clare embracing Tommy after Keegan Bradley surged past the golfer to win the Travelers Championship. Unfortunately for Tommy, it was yet another second-place finish.
The couple have a unique story given Clare is also Tommy’s manager. Clare and Tommy initially had a professional relationship before the two became an item.
Tommy’s eventual wife initially ruled out dating the golfer given their near 23-year age gap. The golfer also nearly found a new manager to provide a bit of distance, but the couple ultimately decided to keep a good thing going.
“We planned to keep our life and our work separate, for me to find another agent,” Tommy admitted during a January 30, 2023, interview with The Times’ Julia Llewellyn Smith. “The 22-year age gap? We’re pioneers.” “But it became more apparent I wasn’t going to find anybody I’d trust as much because, after all, Clare is a very, very, very good agent by trade; it wasn’t like she was my wife just helping the family out.
“So in the end we thought, ‘We’ll just give it a go, but we will never let anything get in the way of our relationship,’ and it’s just always worked perfectly.”
Clare Fleetwood Initially Turned Down Dating Tommy Fleetwood Because of the Near 23-Year Age Difference
Clare has been candid about her initial reservations about dating Tommy given the age difference. There was also the added complications that the two had a business relationship.
“We’ve got a 23-year age difference,” Clare previously noted on the “Performance People” podcast, per Express. “Of course, I turned him down. I was like, ‘Don’t be stupid.’”
Ultimately, Clare became at peace with all the different obstacles. Tommy and Clare now think of themselves as being “pioneers” after overcoming the initial mental block regarding the age difference.
“It is (more common), but we’ll always be one of the first,” Tommy told The Times. “We’re pioneers.”
Tommy and Clare are sure to be celebrating the golfer’s historic win throughout the offseason.
