CLEMSON – Charlotte Women’s Golf (577, +1) opened the 2025 fall season on Monday (Aug. 25) at the Tiger Classic on the campus of Clemson with a third-place team finish.

Pinky Chaisilprungruang headlined the afternoon by finishing as a co-champion (137, -7) tying with Youngstown State’s Neeranuch Prajunpanich and Clemson’s Juliette Demeaux. The one-day event featured 36 holes of competition with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start at the Walker Course.

The 6,209-yard, par-72 layout welcomed 11 teams representing nine NCAA Division I conferences. Charlotte had seven players in action, with five competing towards the team score and two as individuals.

COACH’S CORNER

“This first tournament is a chance for us to set the tone for the season and establish the kind of energy we want to carry forward,” said Head Coach CC McMahan. “For our returners, this event is a chance to lean on their experience, focus on the process, and show what strong leadership looks like on the course. And for our newcomers, this is the first opportunity to put all their preparation into action, and I’m eager to see how they trust to the moment. More than anything, this week is about competing with resilience, learning from each round, and laying the foundation for the growth we want to see throughout the year.”

THE CHAMP

“I want to thank my team and coaches for all of the love and support,” said Chaisilprungruang. “Each and every day with them is a blessing and their friendship fuels me to compete on the golf course.”

Chaisilprungruang won two individual titles last year during an historic freshman season in which she won American Conference Golfer of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and was named an All-American Honorable Mention. Earlier today, Pinky was named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List which recognizes the top golfer in the nation in women’s golf.
