YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Andy Walker, head coach of the Eastern Michigan University men’s golf program, has announced his team’s 2025-26 schedule, Aug. 25, as the Eagles are set to compete in 13 tournaments across 11 states with events stretching from Michigan and Ohio to California and Hawaii. The team also has a trio of events slated for individuals to compete throughout the fall season.

“We will be playing in 11 different states, which is extremely important so we can see different types of grasses, conditions, weather, and time zones,” Walker said of the schedule. “We did this intentionally so come NCAA Regional time; this team won’t be surprised no matter where we are sent.  I’m not much of a goal setter, but more of a habit maker.  Although this team has five newcomers, this is a veteran group who have all had success collegiately or internationally. If this team does what it’s supposed to do in practice, then we should contend to win a few events and give ourselves a great chance to advance to the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad.”

The journey to the NCAA Championships gets underway Sept. 8-9 with the Whirlwind Collegiate Invitational, which will be played at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz., and hosted by the University of Southern California. Additionally, individual competitors could head to Pierson, Mich., for the Pilgrim’s Run Invitational at Pilgrim’s Run Golf Club.

“I’m really excited to get started this fall in Arizona on a course that I’ve competed on dozens of times and had a lot of success on,” Walker said. “Coach Ryan Yip has also played very well at Whirlwind.  This Fall we will see a lot of different types of venues where this team should have numerous chances of winning. I’m looking forward to playing Chicago Highlands and Point O’Woods CC, where I had a successful run at the Western Amateur, and am certainly looking forward to ending our fall season at Kapolei in Hawaii. The spring is going to end very strong with one of the best events in the country at Stanford and the Calusa Cup in Naples, Fla., one of the most prestigious to be invited to.”

Following the opening weekend, the Eagles will head to Chicago Highlands Golf Club for the Highlands Invitational, hosted by Wake Forest University, Sept. 15-16, in Westchester, Ill., before returning west for The Tucker Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of New Mexico on its UNM Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M. The Eagles played in The Tucker in 2024, one of two events on the 2025-26 ledger in which EMU entered last season.

Back in its home state, Eastern will travel across the Mitten to Benton Harbor to take part in the inaugural Jim DeLapa Collegiate, Sept. 28-29, with Central Michigan University serving as host at Point O’Woods Golf Course. The Eagles will then make their first of two trips to Florida when they participate in the West Bay Collegiate Invitational, Oct. 6-7, at West Bay Country Club. The Eagles were set to play in the event hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University last year, but rain washed out the tournament. The fall slate ends, Nov. 4-6, at the Kapolei Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii, on Kapolei Golf Club’s Ocean Course in Kapolei, Hawaii.

Following the winter break, Eastern will be back in action in mid-February when the Eagles head to Mobile, Ala., for the Hal Williams Collegiate, hosted by the University of South Alabama, Feb. 16-17, at RTJ at Magnolia Grove. One month later, Eastern will travel to Humble, Texas, to take part in the All American Collegiate, hosted by the University of Houston, March 17-18, at the Golf Course of Houston.

Back-to-back tournaments in California await with The Bridgestone Collegiate leading things off, March 23-24, at Silverado Country Club, in Napa with CMU playing host. Two days later, March 26-28, Eastern will play in The Goodwin, which will be hosted by Stanford University on its own Stanford Golf Course. From there, two events remain with the first being the Calusa Cup, which will be hosted by the University of Iowa, at Calusa Pines Golf Club in Naples, Fla., before closing the campaign with the Muirfield Shootout, April 20, at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. The event, hosted by Miami University, will be played on the same course that hosts The Memorial.

With the regular season behind them, the Eagles will turn their attention to championship crowns as they will head to Zionsville, Ind., May 3-5, to compete in the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championships at Holiday Farms Country Club. The winner of the team and individual titles will earn automatic berths into the NCAA Regionals, which are slated to run May 18-20 at six locations, including Athens, Ga. (UGa Golf Course), Bermuda Run, N.C. (Bermuda Run CC), Bryan, Texas (Traditions Club), Columbus, Ohio (OSU Golf Club), Corvallis, Ore. (Trysting Tree GC), and Maricopa, Ariz. (Ak-Chin Southern Dunes GC). From there, qualifying teams and individuals will play in the 2026 NCAA Championships, May 29-June 3, at the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif.
