Eight-year-old golfing prodigy Hugo Smith has returned to Australia following a successful campaign at the world championships in the United States.
The young Gold Coast local secured victories in two separate world title events, the Uswing IMG Junior World Championships and the FCG Callaway World Junior Championship.
The young golfer said he was composed under pressure at the world titles and “just thought of it like it was a game of golf”.

His father, Ben Smith, who acted as his caddy, acknowledged the pressure involved.
“I try not to get too nervous because I know he bounces off me,” he said.
“So I try not to show it, but I get really nervous.
“The plan was for me to play and for him to carry my bags but that has now changed.”
