The Canadian crowd will be cheering on a native daughter Sunday at the KPKC Women’s Open.
Brooke Henderson charged up the leaderboard down the stretch of Saturday’s third round at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club in Ontario, Canada, making back-to-back birdies on Nos. 15 and 16 before holing out from the bunker for eagle on the par-4 17th.
Brooke M. Henderson of Canada reacts to applause from fans as she walks up to the tenth green during the third round of the CPKC Women’s Open 2025 at Mississauga Golf and Country Club on August 23, 2025 in Mississauga, Canada.
She ultimately signed for 6-under 65 to follow up her 66 on Friday and now enters the final round tied for the lead with World No. 4 Minjee Lee at 11 under.

“Definitely a dream way to finish and nice to have a clubhouse lead now going into the final round,” Henderson said. “It was just a fun day and I’m look forward to tomorrow.”
It’s been a tough season for Henderson, who talked about her journey to regain her mental strength earlier this week. She’s sprinkled in a few top 15 finishes here and there but hasn’t truly contended in a final round all year. Her last victory came at the very first event of the 2023 season when she own the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.
She can end that drought Sunday.
“It’s just so exciting to be playing here this week. The crowds been phenomenal. Just so happy to be playing at home and hopefully just one more good day.”

But Henderson will need to hold off some serious star power if she wants to hoist a trophy in the end. Lee is right there with her at 11 under. Lee, a three-time major champion who won the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, also made eagle on the par-4 17th en route to a 5-under 66 in Saturday’s third round in Ontario.
She’s three shots back, but it’d be silly to count out World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand, who sits tied for third at 8 under with Japan’s Akie Iwai. World No. 2 Nelly Korda, who was usurped by Thitikul in the Rolex World Rankings a few weeks ago, enters the final round in a five-way tie for 24th at 3 under after signing for 72 on Saturday.
