I doubt Coke or Southern Company would ever sign off moving the tour championship out of the Atlanta Metro. Pretty much the same thing with the FedEx St Jude. Still crazy to me we don’t have an event in NYC/NJ, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, or Denver other than when the BMW rotates.

Shotgun Start podcast just discussed this leading up to the Tour Championship. If they really want the Tour Championship to be taken more seriously it should rotate to more iconic places

The issue is the financial support the the East Lake area receives from this event. It has been a game changer, and was part of plan when it was originally chosen. Pulling the plug is going to be met with community resistance, and be a negative talking point. I would imagine if the move is made it will be part of a shuffle with some other event.

My unpopular opinion is that all the talk about how to ‘fix’ the playoffs would disappear if they just played at a decent course to finish instead of East Lake. I hate it. I’m a golf sicko and I barely watch.
I prefer watching alt events in the DR, for fucks sake. Shouldn’t be that way!

I highly doubt Fed Ex will want to move the St. Jude Championship away from the golf course they literally built around their headquarters nor turn it into another run of the mill summer non-major tournament.

Bring it to Oakland Hills. Its criminal that course only gets a us open once every 15 years. You won’t get much better weather than michigan this time of the year. 80 and sunny.

Number 1 in the FedEx cup standings heading into the Tour Championship should get home course advantage. Let the player pick any course they want to, make it very very limited spectators with no grandstands. The Tour makes enough money as it is, don’t be greedy and this would be a sick idea

PGA really needs to consider northern Michigan for some events. A lot of deserving courses up around Traverse City.
Arcadia Bluffs might be a challenge but holy cow was that course beautiful

I think they should do the final at some goat track where all of us chumps play.
Half dead greens, no spotters, some ex NHLer feeding it to the guys who take too long.

The main issue is that a lot of the clubs that are worthy of the event don’t want it. East lake benefits because they are mostly corporate membership, so most members don’t mind giving up 2 months of play to host the tournament, and they are at liberty to basically adjust the course to the needs of the event.
