Whoever ends up on top of the leaderboard at the 2025 Tour Championship also wins this year’s FedEx Cup. As a result, the Tour Championship purse is appropriately enormous.
On Sunday at East Lake, PGA Tour stars Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Cantlay, Scottie Scheffler, Keegan Bradley and more will be playing for a whopping total purse of $40 million.

Interestingly, this year’s Tour Championship purse is much smaller than last year’s purse. The total amount of FedEx Cup bonus money, $100 million, is the same. But that money is dsitributed at three different points under the new system enacted this season.
The first $20 million in bonuses were doled out to the top 10 players in the FedEx Cup standings after the Wyndham Championship. There, Scheffler took home $10 million for finishing the regular season in first.
The next disbursement of nearly $30 million came after the second FedEx Cup Playoffs event, last week’s BMW Championship, where Scheffler picked up another $5 million (in addition to the $3.6 million he took home for winning the BMW). All 30 players who qualified for the Tour Championship got a taste of the second bonus round.
This week, all 30 players will again get paid, with first place earning $10 million. For comparison’s sake, Scheffler earned $25 million for winning last year’s Tour Championship and FedEx Cup. Should he win again this year, his total FedEx Cup bonus money will end up being the same.
