In this video I will be looking at and reviewing the Eleven Chipper. The chipper is a club that has been classed as a one trick pony, but can it do a little more?

Na just use a 7 iron and practice , save the money and don’t loose a space in the bag to one 😁
I used my 24° hybrid in much the same way. Takes practice to develop the feel. I imagine the chipper would require less practice as it is so close to the putting set up. Sticking to hybrid as I wouldn't want to lose a club out the bag for a limited club. But that's just me. If you had those shots 15 times a round it would be a real winner. Great to see 11 etc challenging the big boys with price and performance.
Love my Eleven Chipper – one of the most important clubs in my bag! Changed over from Ping ChipR about a year ago as found the Eleven performed better. Would thoroughly recommend 👍
I like to use a variety of clubs to chip dependent on lie – but I’m sure that a specialist chipper is the way forward for many golfers
I’ve always wanted to carry a chipper but as a 5 handicap the ridicule would be too much. But I do like the idea of it
My chipping is either on or off so I would like to give one a try.
I sometimes think golfers make life too difficult for themselves by not trying stuff like this.
Long irons instead of Hybrids are another example of this for most!
I use a chipper in winter when I play less & where I play gets very wet. Mine is more pitching wedge loft & I just have to land the ball half way for a good result.
I played once with a guy who used a chipper everywhere from 150 in & was annoyingly effective with it, even bunkers.
Of the many problems with my game, chipping isn’t one. I just grip down on my 7 iron, lean the shaft forward and close the face a little. Seems to work for me 🤷♂️ Got the eleven hybrids and really love them
Sadly my chipping is so bad I even yip chippers!🤣🙈. However, recently I found going kack handed has really helped. Maybe a good video idea for the future on yip cures. Different grips or other cures etc. 👍
I have tried an old Howson chipper on course a few times, but I find the ball flight/ speed too inconsistent. It's either too short and spinny or comes off like a rocket. I realise it's technique on my part, but I seem to get on better with either my 9 or PW depending on how far from pin and lie etc. My question is, are these more modern chippers better from a technology point of view, e.g. more forgiving, face reaction same as a modern club etc.? Being a higher handicapper I'm always looking to make the game easier, more fun, so I'm interested in whether a chipper would help, but so far it's not the case.😊
The only issue I have with my ping chipper, is that it easy to over hit and run out
Have you tried the Eleven hybrids against your Mizuno S3 irons yet?
Got the Ping Chipr and cut shaft down to putter length then put a mid size plus 4 grip on it. Now I use it round greens but also from in the trees when I hit it offline again 😂 Great little club when you just need to get it on the green or back on the fairway.
I love this. A serious review of chippers. Has always been seen as a club for lost causes by many, for people that will never be any good!!
I’m sure a certain pro , Mr Gill, said something like If you have a chipper it’s time to give up golf and take up bowls!!…it’s on YouTube somewhere
The other thing I find with the ChipR is the extra weight in the head helps to cut through greenside rough. Also for getting out from under trees!
Got an odyssey chipper that’s in and out the bag
I don't have an Eleven chipper (yet!) but have the hybrids and a mini driver – fab clubs and have helped me to enjoy my golf again – had my best ever round yesterday and the clubs are playing a very significant role. I initially went towards Eleven thanks to your review of the hybrids Dan so THANK YOU to you also for that and also all the great work you do!
I had the first 11 chipper, sold it and got the new higher lofted 11, it’s amazing from 60 yds and in. Great for back onto the fairway shots too. Midsize grip and white KBS Shaft, brilliant club.
I tend to under hit my chips using a PW, or an 8 iron. I’m certainly not an elite golfer, but I feel more committed chipping around the green with my 56 degree wedge.
I’d need to give it a try before seriously considering one. Not many places to a returns policy on golf clubs, 😂
Morning all
i have a chipper, as a member @ RND it really helps from 30/40yds to get to the green from our flat fairways, great advice so lets see if more of your subscribers get one,
Was that a ball embedded in the bunker lip at the start 🤔
I had a bronty chipper years back what a brilliant club that was
6/7 iron does the same job and doesn’t take up another space in the bag 👏
Hi Dan. I have a ping chipr but struggle with it. Looking at you video you have much more of a descending blow to the ball than I do. I have more of a putter angle of attack, so I will try that round the chipping green next practice session.
Good video 😊
I have a Ping Chipr but I'm not 100 percent sold on it (my chip and run isn't too bad in the first place) but Im sure for some shots it'll be perfect, especially in the Winter.
The head is very heavy, and that takes a hell of a lot of getting used to, especially when the fairways are so hard and everything runs so far.
I have the Ping Chippr it goes in and out of the bag during the season depending on the course conditions. It really does have its place.
Not sure it’s worth sacrificing a more versatile club for tbh. Just learn to chip with what suits the situation.
