Dear Editor,
As a resident of Green, I would like to propose that Raintree Golf Course offer a monthly family driving range membership for local families. Such a program would provide affordable recreation, foster community connections and help make Raintree a true hub for families in our area.
Many municipally owned and public golf courses have successfully implemented family-oriented driving range or practice facility memberships. These programs demonstrate that it is feasible for Raintree to offer a similar option that encourages participation from local families while supporting the course’s operations.
A monthly family driving range membership at Raintree would offer many benefits for Green families. It would provide an affordable way for families to enjoy outdoor activity together, encouraging physical activity and healthy habits. Children and adults could develop their golf skills in a safe, structured environment, while parents and guardians have an opportunity to relax and socialize. The shared experience of learning and playing would also help neighbors get to know each other, strengthening community ties.
From the perspective of Raintree Golf Course, this program could increase traffic to the restaurant and other amenities, providing additional revenue and promoting a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. It would also help cultivate a loyal base of regular visitors, ensuring that Raintree continues to serve as a central recreational resource for Green.
Ultimately, a family driving range membership would provide more than just golf practice — it would offer a space where Green families can connect, enjoy active recreation and build lasting memories. I encourage the management of Raintree Golf Course and the City of Green to consider this initiative, which promises to benefit both the course and the community.
