I’m the one: Fergal O’Shea (centre) with Denny Murphy and John Madigan

It’s not every golfer that can claim to have notched a hole-in-one – no matter how often they play the game or how good they are at it – but one hotshot from Killarney has actually achieved that remarkable feat not once but twice.

Fergal O’Shea was chuffed to ace the fourth hole on the Mahony’s Point course at Killarney Golf and Fishing Club and it sparked great celebrations with his playing partners, Denny Murphy, John Madigan and Fiachra Costello.

Fergal’s commemorative scroll and bag tag

Fergal, from Pallas, Beaufort, is currently in great form and playing off one and he used a pitching wedge to sink the ball with his first shot.

He is no stranger to achieving a hole-in-one, however, as he previously registered that milestone in 2011 on the 10th hole on the Killeen course.

Fergal’s latest success was the talk of the clubhouse and, for his efforts, he was presented with a commemorative scroll and a specially engraved bag tag.
