At the CPKC Women’s Open, Akie Iwai confirmed her current form after her victory last week at the Portland Classic. After a first round of 64 (-7), without a single bogey, the Japanese player posted a second round of 69 (-2) to bring her total to -9 and maintain sole control of the leaderboard with a three-stroke lead over her pursuers.

Behind her, Minjee Lee moved into joint second place thanks to a second-round 67 (-4), improving by two strokes on her score from the previous day when she shot 69 (-2). The Australian, a multiple winner on the LPGA Tour, remains well placed to aim for another title. Leona Maguire and Jeeno Thitikul complete this trio at -6. The Irishwoman and the Thai both returned the same card of 70 in this second round.
