Shooting about 100 would only be about 12 strokes more than their average round… So they should 1 additional stroke per hole? Na, I think most 15s will shoot in the 120-135 range. Now a true low HC golfer say a 5, these folks have skill and will par some of the par 3s and 4s. These folks will shoot around 90-100.
I used to play Torrey pines the week after the tour would go through. At the time I was playing to a 6 HC and Torrey pines is EASY for tour pros compared to Augusta. I would should at least in the 90s. When you hit from the pro tees and the grass just off the fairway is 9 inches tall… its a 1-2 stroke penalty every time you miss a drive.
Honestly, if I ever hand the change to play Augusta… I would go for everything! I mean, Tiger goes for the green on the par 5 over the water… why shouldn't I? I'm going for the hopes of one glorious memory… and shooting about 160!
I was an assistant club pro in Houston for a few years. We got to play Champions the day after the 2001 Tour Championship. I was a 3 handicap at the time. I shot 81, but it was mostly due to one damn hole. I can't remember the number now, but it was that infamous monster par 3 that's like 230 or something. I got a damn 7 on it.
The average golfer is NOT a 15 handicap. Rather, the average golfer WHO KEEPS A HANDICAP is around 15. The real average golfer is probably a 30 handicap. A 15 handicap regularly scores in the 80s. That’s good for an amateur. 92% of amateur golfers never break 80. The real average golfer is lucky to break 90, and is often in the 100s.
I've been to the Masters several times, never played it, BUT I did play Pebble Beach the day after the US Open the last time it was there and that course was FOR SURE harder than Augusta. Zero chance Augusta is as hard as Pebble is under US Open conditions. The greens at Augusta would be hard but it's wide open and the rough is not bad. The rough at Pebble for the US Open is flat out impossible to play from as a mid-to-high handicapper. Id say if you aren't a plus handicap it's IMPOSSIBLE. I probably would have shot 150 had I not started picking and placing any ball I buried in the rough…which was a lot. Try hitting a soft shot out of 6 to 8 inch deep rough 1 foot off a super fast green. That's just not in my skill set. I love Pebble but I'll never play it again in those conditions.
I’m an 11 handicap and I shot 93 at Olympic Club. Of course it wasn’t the US Open set up, but I considered myself on fire to shoot that. It was from the blue tees also. I feel like if I wasn’t swinging so well, it would’ve been over 100 for sure.
The greens are so fast it's almost like putting on a solid floor. I work at a course that we have rolled a stint of 13 on hole 18 and laughed at players cursing. They asked for it and we gave it to them.
I'm a plus handicap, played some mini tour golf when I was young and I couldn't break 80 in those conditions. If I did, I'd be playing absolutely out of my mind.

10 checking in. I'd smoke that place. No weeds. No muni-course shiz…
lol they tweakin a 6 handicap would have trouble breaking 100 there a 15 shoots 115 plus
false arrognce.
JJ Watt said he shot a 110. 🐂 💩
Yep,..I'm about a 15 handicap, and I'm pretty sure I'd have a hard time breaking 100 at Augusta. And then there's the back nine.

111 over-under
200叩いても良いから回ってみたい!
Your average 15 handicapper would struggle to shoot 150 there.
I would be up for the challenge. Get me on there.
Why don't we apply science. Get "average amateurs'"results who have in fact played there. Or is the holy grail too holy for such handicaps to play on?
My guess is 140
Love their reaction 😂
tell your editor to get rid of/mute the lav from who ever is not on camera you got some phasing in your sound.
The most valuable lesson I got from Mark 20 years ago: All he thinks about at the top of swing is bringing hands down first. Priceless.
120
They’d easily break 100…. clubs
A zero. Those people wouldn't finish the course. Eventually they get to a hole where the ball keeps rolling off the green.
Darn I had a hard time breaking a hundred on my municipal golf course, I probably could not break two hundred at Augusta
I’m a 7 handicap and I’d definitely struggle to break 100 at Augusta😂

I would totally watch a round of the Masters with amateurs to see the massive difference!!
I could definitely break 100. On the front 9 that is.
110
150 easy
I would break a 100 easily. Bogey golf is a breeze if you set that as the goal. If Trump is a scratch golfer I see myself at 7 under par.

I honestly feel they couldn't finish. putting those greens would be just too difficult
I’m about a 15 handicap
And I broke a hundred there with a 91, after 9 holes
So ? It’s fine. When can I expect to be there ? I’ll clear my schedule 😊
I’m a 15 handicap—I’m definitely breaking 100 at Augusta.

I think maybe breaking 100 was a very generous score given the putting alone is nothing near what most people have ever played 😂
I am a 15 handicap. I would expect to shoot about 120

Sounds about right 😅

Back in the early 1990's I was around a 15 and I played a tough course Lawsonia Links and I got a 91 and I was thrilled like I shot under par.
Most all golfers would break 100 by far..breaking 14 clubs. !
I’m a 16 handicap and I guarantee I’m not shooting 100 at Augusta
