We’re through the halfway point at the 2025 Tour Championship, and five golfers have separated themselves on the leaderboard.

While Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley share the lead at 13 under at East Lake, with the FedEx Cup title 36 holes away, Cameron Young, Robert MacIntyre and Patrick Cantlay join them at double digits under par through two rounds.

The next closest golfer is World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who struggled at times during the second round, which was pushed up in the day due to forecasted storms in Atlanta, but salvaged a one-under 69 with a stuffed wedge at the last.

It should come as no surprise that the best five players so far this week are near the top of at least one major strokes-gained category, so let’s take a look at the clubs the leaders have dialed so far this week as they chase the FedEx Cup title and the Tour Championship crown.

T1. Tommy Fleetwood, -13: TaylorMade Spider Tour putter

We could just as easily showcase Fleetwood’s P7TW irons, which have him second in the field with 2.83 strokes gained approach, but he’s picking up more than a shot more with his TaylorMade Spider Tour putter.

Fleetwood switched to the Spider Tour earlier this season, and the putter features distinctive custom Sharpie lines along the topline to help Fleetwood get centered over the ball and line himself up.

T1. Russell Henley, -13: Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5 Tour Prototype putter

Russell Henley's Scotty Cameron Phantom putter.
Rusell Henley made everything on Thursday.

Titleist

Russelly Henley’s flatstick cooled off slightly from Round 1 on Friday. But how could he not after he made 207 feet of putts Thursday on his way to tying his career-low round on the PGA Tour with a 61.

Henley uses a Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5 Tour Prototype putter and leads the field in strokes gained putting with nearly five shots picked up on the greens. That’s despite even losing a half stroke putting on Friday, where he still shot 66.

3. Cameron Young, -11: Titleist 631.CY irons

Titleist

Using a split set of the 2023 T200 4-iron, 2023 T100 5-iron and his custom Titleist 631.CY Prototype 6-9 irons, Cameron Young has been putting on a ball-striking clinic this week, gaining four shots on approach, especially during his Friday 62.

His Scotty Cameron Phantom 9.5R Tour Prototype putter has been a huge reason for his fine play over the last few weeks which resulted in his first PGA Tour win at the Wyndham. But his ball striking improvement can also be tied to his switch to the new Titleist Pro V1x Double Dot Prototype golf ball.

T4. Robert MacIntyre, -10: Titleist TSR2 driver

Robert MacIntyre's Titleist TSR2 driver.
MacIntyre now plays his driver in the B-3 setting, not D-4 as pictured here.

Titleist

Among the leaders, Robert MacIntyre has played the most balanced golf this week, ranking in the top-13 in all four strokes gained categories, but it’s his play off the tee with his Titleist TSR2 driver that has our attention.

MacIntyre is fifth in strokes gained: off-the-tee and is blending distance and accuracy nicely, averaging 312.5 yards off the tee while missing just seven fairways so far.

Perhaps the shot of the day on Friday was Cantlay’s approach into the par-5 18th from 249 yards to six feet to set up an eagle that got him to 10 under. His swing with a seven-year-old Titleist TS2 7-wood caught the attention of Justin Thomas, who was signing his scorecard at the time and had just misplayed his second and made par from a similar position on 18.

Cantlay, like MacIntyre, is also driving it on a string this week with his Titleist GT2 driver, ranking second in SG: off-the-tee and averaging 322 yards a pop.
