That was absolutely FANTASTIC entertainment, the golf wasn't great but the stories and general chat was riveting.
Sandy's swing looks awkward.
Faldo and Lyle still not get on?
The commentator needs to spend more time on his research! WAY TOO MANY GAFFS!
Quintessentially British culture at its finest. All my giants. Marvellous. Loved the Persimmon with Woosie. They should all had a go. I play the old traditional wood. What craftsmanship the old club makers . Need a Persimmon Tour. Humbling. PS imagine the US version of this event. No ! Better not!!!
Woosie is a bit hard on himself about only winning one major. Ankylosing spondylitis is no joke. I think he did amazing with that condition.
Sandy Lyle under appreciated under estimated, genius talent.
Woosie been crushed by undefeated gravity!
Best ever Ryder Cup venue. Four absolute legends of the game. That was really fun to watch! 💗
Incredible that the four of them never played as a group before. Looking forward to the match.
Better than watching LIV that’s for sure!
Not a great watch Stephen Alker would have shown them the way
Woosnam and Lyle, two Shropshire lads that became world beaters.
It is a absolute disgrace that Sandy Lyle was never made the Ryder Cup Captain.
Loved it when Faldo and Radar went at it about a ruling from 35 years ago. I remember watching that. It was funny as heck 😂
Switched off after 15 minutes of Woosnam white noise and talking crap. His noise continually drowned out the other players when they were being interviewed.
Sounded like he had a few.
Faldo full of himself ..as usual ? His head is the size of a bunker …big Sam looks disgusted with Faldo' s me , me , me …I did this , horse manure .
At least Sandy made an effort to speak with Nick!
The 10th was a great challenge drivable but a narrow entrance.
Nick Faldo mentioned suits 1.50.55 nobody answered him or maybe they didn't remember what we did to him? Tony had picked him for the team and he was totally out of form because of a swing change, Nick played two games and lost both. The Bel Air nightclub was closed because it was a Sunday so after the dinner we all celebrated in the leisure club and that's when we threw Nick in the swimming pool because of his two losses with his wool suit on. Luckily he survived and went on to win the Open 3 times and The Masters 3 times. It was great on the old pro shop roof thanking the fans and such a shame the whole team wasn't out there, Sam learnt from this and in 2002 when he was Captain the whole team went on the same roof to celebrate for the fans. It was a day I will never forget and spraying champagne with Seve after winning The Ryder Cup was an unbelievable dream come true.
Great idea to bring these four European Ryder Cup legends back for a few holes. Fair play to Woosie for letting that kid take that shot from the 18th tee… and very poor though from the presenter to utter "piss off" he was telling Faldo after that was playing in his juniors competition 😮
Interesting body language seeing Sandy and Faldo ignoring each other !
Faldo is a Bell End
Golf heaven ⛳️ I was only 7 in 1985 and nick faldo is and always will be my golfing hero. I was at practice day in 1992 muirfield and said to him love you too win, but never did sign my bit of paper but wasn’t bothered because I got to see him up close
It's 'All Square' not 'tied'
Reckon I could give them a go…
Woosie's swing……still poetry in motion ( even with a dodgy back )! Wonderful to see these guys again.
Woosnam showing his class, amazing how he used to get the ball out there, even with persimmon clubs.
In fact I was surprised at their results with the persimmon driver.
What a fantastic video – thank you for the great memories and lovely ending about the legend Seve.
Sandy Lyle was looong back in the day
After seeing this I could do well in this company and I'm over 80.
This is wonderful to see, but, sorry, it's brought back, for me anyway, the anger at the absurd injustice of three of these being Ryder Cup captains and the fourth, whom Seve said was the best European player of all including himself – Sandy Lyle – being omitted.
So so so bloody wrong – and time never reduces an injustice.
Stop talking.
Still have a competitive spirit even forty years later. A Brit in Florida.
I’m confused.. Sam Torrance not using Slazenger FAST woods and irons??
…featuring on-course reporter Alan Grant from “Jurassic Park”.
With that hat I am just waiting for him to say, “life found a way.”
15th of September 1985,never forget that day. We won the Ryder cup at Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, my first child child was born the same day at Good hope hospital in Sutton Coldfield, great day in more ways than one 👍 😊
Editors could have improved this a lot if they'd chopped it down somewhat.
Sandy & Sam both so humble with no ego’s, love to play a four-ball in their company. Very enjoyable, thank you for putting this together.
Four absolute legends
Strange choice of 4 ball? 3 Ryder cup captains and Sandy Lyle ? Langer too busy ?
Great video, It would have been great to see the original caddies from that time carrying the bags.
Absolute sporting heaven. I was 14 watching the 1985 ryder cup, and to this day, from someone who is a massive sports fan, it is the best sporting occasion I've ever witnessed . HAPPY DAYS.
Peter Aliss, on the mic. Just sheer bliss ❤
Finally – it took me 40 years, but I am finally on same level as Sir Nick.
Great watch, the best tribute I can give to these players is that they helped to create the european golf tour to what it is now.All four left their own mark on the game in one way or another. We should thank them all!
