Henley hit two birdies and an eagle on the front nine and then added five birdies on the back nine in order to secure his nine-under round. He covered 207 feet on his putts throughout the day, showcasing his putting ability.

It was Henley’s third career round with a score of 61 ore lower on the PGA Tour. When it comes to shooting under 63, Henley has secured the score the fourth-most in the last 40 years.

A 61 should have given Henley a larger lead but Scheffler’s 63 gives Henley little room for error.

Scheffler shot a bogey-free round as well, which was his 56th bogey-free round in the last four years.

Scheffler recorded three birdies on the front and four on the back to get his 63. He and Henley will be paired together for Friday’s second round.

A group of five players is also right in the mix at six-under. Players will tee-off for the second round starting at 8 a.m. ET on Friday.
