An unusual competition took place at Richmond Golf Club on Friday, August 15 – the ‘Cross Country Golf Challenge’.
Rather than following the traditional route from the 1st tee to the 18th green, players tackled a course made up of a mixed sequence of holes.

So, for example, tee off from the 14th tee and aim at the 9th green.
This ‘golf course with a difference’ attracted over 60 players playing nine holes on a fine summer evening, with some incredible scores!
The winners were as follows:
Ladies – 1st – Karen Jobling & Vicky Matthers
2nd – Andrea Offord & Mel Albrighton
3rd – Sue Kipling & Barbara Gregory
Gents – 1st – Jake King & Tom Thurgood
2nd – Dan Morris & Tom Keegan
3rd – Connor Smith & Alex Ayers
Mixed – 1st – Claire Bateman & Lee Coward
2nd – Penny Holroyd & John Simpson
3rd – Mary Pettit & Brook Watson – the two Club Captains
