  1. I absolutely LOVED these vignettes at the time! I popped hard when "JIM THE NEIGHBOR" came out and I was looking forward to Raven psychologically dismantling "Jim" and CORRUPTING him with cigarettes, barbed wire, and violence — transforming him into the SANDMAN. This would have been such great storytelling and such a COOL intro for these characters on a national stage, I can't believe they never fulfilled it. RAVEN could have returned with a NEW FLOCK 2.0: RAVEN, SANDMAN, KANYON, CHASTITY, and MIKEY WHIPWRECK. Wreaking havoc on the NWO, the Horsemen, the FORMER flock, and more! WHY WCW WHY!

  2. Biggest prick I ever met lol. He was being a douche at a casino show I was helping out with when I was 16 and I told asked him why he was so pompous….no one was there to see the low-mid card. The other guys (including my uncle-also a wwf 90s wrestler) about pissed themselves lol. He was sooo mad but really couldn't say anything because my uncle would have kicked him out….plus, what was he going to say to a 16 girl lol

  3. WCW messed up on giving Teirs to their roster. WWF included everyone which lets the crowd decide which matches we wanted from the “pop” we gave live.

  4. Imagine the promos between piper and raven the matches would have been good but the promos would have been money

  5. WCW did the opposite. Push down and not being people up with them. That’s going against what wrestling is supposed to do. You want any talent to rise to continue the business. You’re not really going to have a good future if you don’t foster talent and bring others to the top. It’s selfish and short sighted.

  6. Raven was one of the best parts of late 90s WCW. He had great feuds with Beniot, Booker T, and DDP. A feud with him and Piper would have been awesome

  7. I'd like to think they killed the whole "Raven is actually a spoiled rich kid going through an edgy phase" thing because the bookers came back to their senses and realized how much it sucked, but this is WCW we're talking about.

  8. Typical WCW BS. On one hand it stinks that the fed folded but on the other hand when I learn more and more about the crooked crap they did to destroy storylines and talent, I’m glad they went under.

  9. Piper vs Raven could have been the first in what would then be the trilogy of Raven vs Punk and Punk vs MJF, both of which were heavily inspired by Piper and his match with Valentine. He did get to be in the ring with Funk though

  10. In my humble opinion, WCW ruined Raven with this and really dropped the ball on any push for him. He was on the cover of WCW/nWo Revenge with stars and got no push. WHAT THE?!?

  11. I understand the flannel tied around the waist now. I know it’s a grunge thing (I lived through grunge) but it’s also a nod/update to the Piper kilt.

  12. Raven would regularly come to the Dawsonville outlet mall in North GA. He was either the biggest egotistical prick to ever walk this planet or the coolest, most generous human being in history with no in-between…

But it was a guarantee he smelled like a high school football locker. Man had permanent stink.

  13. I remember when he first showed up in WCW just sitting there ringside and the announcers made it se like he was a big deal but it seemed like they just didn’t do much with him and his character just never went anywhere in the company.

  14. this is a big reason why WWF was beating WCW at the time. Mid-card guys would be allowed to get involved in storylines with the top guys in the WWF. It made everyone look better. WCW tried to keep them segregated way too much.
