In an exciting turn of events, English golfer Marco Punch seized the opportunity when his opponent, Danish player Hasmus Heg, made crucial mistakes. Punch, who was down by four strokes after the first six holes, fought back with a total score of -16 to claim his second European Tour victory.

The turning point came at the seventh and ninth holes, where Heg’s bogey and double bogey brought him back to the starting line with Punch. From there, Punch took the lead for most of the back nine, but a bogey at the 16th hole gave Heg a chance to catch up. However, Punch’s brilliant approach shot at the 17th hole regained a two-stroke advantage. Despite Heg’s eagle on the final hole, Punch held his nerve and sank a 3-foot birdie putt to secure the win and the $200,000 prize.

Ben Schmidt, another English player, had a strong start with four birdies on the front nine, but couldn’t maintain the momentum on the back nine. Swedish player Mikael Lindberg and Italian player Gregorio De Leo, who both had hole-in-ones this week, finished tied for fourth with scores of 68 on Sunday.

Chinese golfer Ding Wenyi had a mixed round with two birdies and three bogeys, ending up at 72 for the day and tied for 24th place overall.
