The new-look Tour Championship tees off in the early hours of Friday morning AEST to bring the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoffs to a close at East Lake in Atlanta, Georgia.
World No.1 Scottie Scheffler is the red-hot favourite following his victory at the BMW Championship last week, his fifth of the year, but the change in format truly makes it a wide open race.
After abandoning the maligned starting strokes structure of the past six editions, the season finale is a simple four round stroke play event with the winner to be awarded US$10 million (AS$15.5m) as well as the title of FedEx Cup champion.
