I wonder if humility and mental game go hand in hand

Both insanely good golfers. But different people. Different style. Different personalities. And it will be interesting to see how long the runway is for Scottie’s success. I hope he keeps crushing!

He really needs to become a personality for golf such a great genuine person I’d love to see him in more stuff

Any man who must say, ‘I am the king,’ is no true king

Scotty’s dominance as a player is self evident

Tiger was a once in a lifetime phenomenon and athlete but Scottie’s just way more relatable. Will be rooting for him for a long time.

Someone asked him this like a month ago after he won the open and it was a similar answer. He said he’s 25% of the way to tigers major count. It is a silly comparison. I never watched Tiger play in his prime but the recovery shots I’ve seen online are just unreal and just the number of wins, Scottie has a long way to go. It’s also interesting what he said about tigers focus. I’m assuming he played with him rather late in his career and feel like he mellowed out a lot since his prime from what I’ve heard.

Between this, HG2, and the way he is with his family after he wins tournaments I’m going to need this freaking guy to stop being so likeable because it’s getting hard to root against him.

Excellent answer. Hard not to like this guy.

  9. The mental focus on both guys is a bigger piece of the dominance than any of us will ever realize.

Scottie going with Waffle House of Denny’s for his downturn?

  11. NumbaKruncha

It’s hard to have anything other than respect for Scottie and how he conducts himself

I am not the messiah energy lol. Love Scottie and he’s right.

Tiger also helped raise the purse money to what it is today.

Spoken like a true athlete. On a day by day basis

Tiger is a lot like LeBron.

They were prodigies who didn’t just rely on their talent they worked and focused and absolutely exceeded all expectations.

I mean Tiger was putting on television as a three year old or something crazy.

So for it to happen again or even be exceeded would take another person born with insane innate talent but also with the passion and drive to pour their entire lives into one thing from a very young age and take it all the way.

Scottie is awesome though not to take anything away from him.

He answered that question like a champ.

Whenever I watch Scotty, I always think of Nate Bargatze from his SNL golf skit.

  18. What he says here is great. The shortcut to misery is comparison to others. Be the best version of yourself week after week and some form of success will come. We can’t all be Scottie, but most of us can be a lot better at golf.

  19. Well said Scotty.

Scotty is an absolute beast but the Tiger comparisons have always been ridiculous. Just media vultures looking for their next click bait headline.

Not even close to Tiger. I’ll take Harmon this week at 80-1 over Scottie at +180. Ridiculous odds

  21. BunkerSpreckels3

If Scottie stays away from the waitresses he could go far.

Tiger in 2000 would put belt to ass to any being to pick up a club. He’s built different
