I’ve just recently taken up golf and I’m completely hooked even though I probably only hit a couple good shots out of 50. I plan on starting lessons soon, but in the meantime I’d love some quick feedback or constructive criticism from you all! I feel like I look funny when I swing.. but I know I have to start somewhere!

Need to get your hips and lower body involved
Turn you hips. Right now you’re swinging with your arms. At the top of the backswing, your back should be facing the target.
Really good looking swing this far, you will do great. You need to get your hips and legs involved, arm dominate swing causing over the top club path.
Top of your backswing is really perfect position actually. Next you need to let your ‘arms drop’ straight down behind you while your hips start to rotate, this will create club head lag/ speed and get your club path more shallow and on the proper plane.
Don’t pause, make it one fluid motion. More hips and thrust.
Stand a bit closer to the ball, about a fist between your grip and your left pocket. Rotate your hips, core and shoulders more.
Hands/arms: bring them back/away from body and up more instead of trying to flip the club and your hands around your back.
Simultenously to that: try to twist your hips count clockwise.
Once you can do both, practice untwisted and dropping your arm back down to where you hit the ball!
