Now, I think there are three ways to do it. If you are a kid or if you’re new to the game, thumbs down the middle of the shaft to start off with. This thumb on the bottom goes to the side. And if you have a baseball grip with no overlap, that’s fine. But the fingers must be together. Don’t have a gap. We don’t want a split grip. Two. This one’s called the Varden grip. Now, most people use the Varden grip. Again, you can see my hands are together. This bump on your hand on the palm there fits snugly on top of the thumb. You don’t want to be able to see the thumbnail of your top hand. And it’s a bit like you’re throwing a ball spin. That’s how the bottom hand sits on the club. The other one, Tiger Woods, Rory Maroy, Jack Nicholas, they all have the interlocking grip. I tried this when I was a kid. I couldn’t do it. But if you can, only the biggest names in the game use the interlock grip.
