Right. Richard Bland. Let’s get to the first te. Let’s go. Richard Bland. Jimbo. Dicky. My boy. Thanks for coming on. Pleasure. I’ve been waiting for you for ages. Um we’re here at our lovely Wizzley Whizzley home. We’re going to play today mill church. What’s it blowing? It’s flowing. It’s It’s certainly blowing a consistent I’d say 15 to 20. So don’t expect too many birds. You know what I mean? You’re going to have to control. Yeah. Might only have to shoot eight under today to win. Yeah. I’m looking forward to this one cuz you’re hell of a player. Hell of a career. I’m going to ask you a load of questions later, but the main thing I want to beat you. Okay, let’s do it. Match play, 18 holes. Match play, 18 holes shots. What we doing? What have the other pros given you on m when it’s stroke play? I take two or three or nine. All right. I think this is just my opinion. I think if you give me five. All right. I’ll tell you what I’ll do. You can have two aside and you can have one wherever you want it. But you got to you got to nominate before we tee off. I love that. So you got two two each nine and wherever I want it and you can have you can have one wherever you want it. Love it. There you go. Good luck. If you lose seven and six, don’t take it on like 15. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I’ve got to use it before you try and pump me. That’s what you’re saying. Um right. Play well. First major winner we’ve had on. No, we’ve had Will it is in we? We’ve had Willlet on. Oh, proper major. Well, yours is still decent, boy. He’s only got one though. Good luck, the old boy. Safe. Yeah, it’s a long way today, ain’t it? It is a long way, mate. Yeah, take that. I was feeling that. Similar to the um regional qualifier. Terry carried. Don’t know. Was it rip that in you? Uh, not quite. Boys and girls, if you don’t know it’s pumping, you do now. It is. Honestly, I’ve got 129. I’m thinking of it in 79 here, mate. It’s pumping so hard. One saying that it’s at that angle is it 129. It’s got to be a 150 shot. Right. By the way, you want to see this boy wedge it. So, [Music] [Music] smooth eight in there. Oh, it’s just gone through it a little bit. Quick there down the wind, was it? Go go go go go try. Excuse me. Push. Bit of jet lag on the boy. Yeah, a little bit. Oh, jet lag. It’s all right. One’s up for the ball, please. That’s all right. Give him a little head start. Do you know where you get your shots here? Um Oh, he’s on me already. He’s on me. No, I’m just asking out of left to get a card, actually. It’s a good shot. I would probably think you would get one at three. Yeah, it’s got to be three and nine. Yeah, maybe. Should we do an three and nine? You’re going to give me? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So, he’s giving me the shots on three and nine on this nine. And then church is two. Is it two? It’s got to be I would say five. It’ be certainly five. Okay. Two and five. Two and five. And then you’ve got a free go at it. It’s a beauty. Play. He’s coming to play today. It’s quite cute that he actually thinks he’s got a chance. He’s quite cute. Hit it. Get them cameras rolling. It’s going to be a early two shots with a ballfish. Now that’s a long way back. Let me tell thee. Get them cameras rolling. Two up to the ballish. Long way to go, Jim Bob. There is a long way to go. Just come back to be fair. Just come back from Valdder Armor. You could have got him at a good time. A little bit of jet lag in him. You know what I mean? A little bit little bit of jet in him. when this boy gets going. One of the best wedge games on any tours out there, ain’t you? Well, I just got to find I got to find my second shot first so I get a chance to get one. Right, Mill 440 wind like that par four. Tough hole. Get a drive away. Come on. This is a shot hole as well, is it? Two up shot hole. Come win. Come on. It’s all right. Yeah, it’s all straight. It’s a lot of wind there, Blandy. You reckoned, mate? I’ve ripped that. It looks like it’s gone nowhere. It does actually look like saying that it’s all right, isn’t it? Yeah. Fairway. Yeah. Yeah. Another one of those. You should get that. Where’s the wind? Oh, let’s give you the cousy. It’s all right. It’s all right. Weird, isn’t it? Wind’s off the ride, but it didn’t hit mine either. Right, Bandy? Life on live. Life on live. Yeah. How is it? Yeah, it’s it’s been great. You know, it’s uh it’s the best decision I ever made really. You know, the it came along at the perfect time in my career at 49. I was playing well at the time. It was still a gamble. Yeah, I you know, you hear of a lot of guys sign for an awful lot of money. I didn’t. I’ve never signed more than a one-year deal. So, I’ve had to so I’ve had to earn my spot every year, right? Um yeah, unfortunately, I’ve played well enough to be able to do it. So, uh, yeah, and it it keeps you want to, you know, try even harder and work even harder as even though as I get older, I can’t work anywhere near as hard as I used to, but you can certainly work smarter. So, you think you’ve done that? Yeah, definitely. Yeah. Um, but yeah. Yeah, it it it’s it’s been great for me. uh you know, I’ve been able to kind of secure my future for when I finish playing, which is a nice feeling to have. So, I don’t feel like I’m playing with as much sort of that sort of sort of pressure anymore, right? Of course, you still feel it. Um, but it’s nice knowing that, you know, whenever I do decide to call it a day sort of playing tournament golf, you know, I can uh, yeah, I can I can I can afford to do whatever I want to do. Yeah. What you done to your life and your career in it? Back end as you said. Yeah. You had a long career, didn’t you? Yeah, I was on I was on DP Well for 20 years. So, uh, yeah, you know, I I’ll be the first to say that, you know, I probably the the the opportunities that I had to win probably got in my own way a little bit, maybe wanting it a little bit too much. Yeah. You trying too hard. You know, as you know yourself, sometimes when you, you know, you want something badly, you’ve almost got to try and care less about it. Let it happen. You know, you so many times you’ll play with your mates and you’ll shoot 8, nine under par and then you go play the next week and you might you might miss a cut and you think, “Well, hang on a second. I’ve just shot eight and nine under par the weekend before coming out playing well and you know you then you don’t perform and and why is that?” Um, you know, but it’s a hard thing to do to be able to go out on a golf course and play for your living and almost not care about it. It’s a hard thing to do. Yeah. Especially football, you’ve already banked your money in your game. You ain’t banked, have you? Yeah. Also, as well, and I think I think with with football, there’s there’s probably not an awful lot of time to think about stuff. You know, when you’re out there on the pitch, you’re reacting to what’s happening. You know, we’ve just had, you know, to this t-shirt, what’s that about 210? Um, you know, so you’ve got time to think and you’ve got you’ve got time to get in your own way. Yeah. Um, which which is, you know, probably the hardest one of the hardest things in golf. 166 into two. It’s got to be a 180 shot. Got to be. Come on, wind. That wind’s blocked by the trees. Get left. Could have finished in a worse spot. Right. tight to it. I reckon I reckon he’s putting my ball in some bad spots, you know. 138. 138. I’m just going to have to nut here then. What? 138. Well, like you said, it’s got to be 50. Move this. It’s got to be in it. I’d certainly say it’s a 145 shot. You got eight. You got you think like the the flag’s not moving there. I know. That’s the problem, isn’t it? 38. It’s only got to be playing 30 to the front. I think it’s just like a little push nine. What’d you hit, Blandy? Oh, it’s a little like mine’s just got Did you Did you? Yeah. Just trying to like a flight it down, but it just looked like that just stalled a little bit. You can hear it, but you can’t feel it. It’s just a bit gusty, isn’t it? Oh, it’s still holdable from there. You’re all right up there. Proper one, isn’t it, Blandy? Oh, he’s left it slightly a jar. Good one. You need this, BL dog, I tell you. Yeah, I might have to need that out. That flag’s flattening around a little bit. Oh, he fancies it. Soft first bounce. Pick it up, Jim. Two from there. Free up, Landy. Don’t worry about it. I’m good. Just like to keep drumming it into you. Do you know what I mean? Hello. You a bit nervous. I just run out when I’m big dog. Huh? Run out where? Just run out. It’s long up there. What? You feel like you’ll get it in the bushes over the green with driver? It’s not been the shoplander. You know that. I know that just on top of the hill there, Blland dog. You know what I mean? Yeah, it’s all right. You not like that play from me or is that just you needling me? Well, do you do what you you do? Okay. Gorgeous. I’ll give you that one, boys. Fringed it. 80 down the hill. 78. Not bad. Not bad shot. And was it not bad at all, mate? Nearly killed him, didn’t I? Bit of swaz on it. shot. Good enough, is it? Eh, good enough. I’d hope so. Yeah. Pick it up. Right to left. I need this. Break. Break. Break. Boom. Got it. Dicky. That hurts him. He slammed that flag in. Come on then. The bully. That’s painful. That is it. Come on. Don’t leave me hanging, brother. No. No, no, no. 147. You going for the big slinger with that? No. I’m going to a smooth eight. Just hold it up. Real soft one. Plugged in the face. Bad smooth one, weren’t it? What you going with? Nine. No, I’ve got I’ve got I’m going to try and hit like the same as you. Feel like nine. You’ve got to start it too far right. That’s just stalled as soon as it’s got up. You got a gust. Oh, that one hurt you, didn’t it? Eh, that one hurt you. That just got a gust straight away, didn’t it? A magic magic, bro. Can have that. Yeah, that’s good. Jim, it’s going to save. He gone deaf. Have I gone deaf? Caugh that had a look, didn’t it, to go forses? Come on, Jane. Hey, keep it there, brother. Right, here we go. Still free up. 505 yds. Wind is into off the left. Reaching tracks, land. Tough one, isn’t it? H certainly the first one. Yes. Okay. Leak, leak, leak. Looks all right. Just around the front of them. Yeah, that’s quite nice that [Music] proper that wind shift that land. Look at this. Yep. shot, mate. Needed one there, didn’t you? I’m not sure you can go for it from there. Well, I think you got to go for it from there. Yeah, good. Do you hear him? I think I got to go. Is he all right? This has been an absolute bodgege all day long. Get down. Is that reached? I think it’s just short. I think you’re all right. Wow, that’s gone miles at 99. Oh, my pants then. It’s unlike you, Bandy. Yeah. Just not tired, but your body’s not body’s not working. Not today. Not today. It’s a shame, isn’t it? Do you did you feel that like maybe as you got older in your career? Yeah. That like when you after a game, obviously you’ve got the adrenaline of the game and you and you Oh, flat. And then you come back. Yeah. And then you’ve just you just kind of like you can’t get you ain’t got the same buzz. You flatline, don’t you? Yeah. Can’t keep going like that. You end up dead. But this is a big thing like for me, you know what I mean? Might not be for you. You might be flat, but I’m buzzing my off. I’m buzzing my off. Bloody know when you won. Obviously, obviously it shows you how far you hit that shot. When you was at the British Masters like that, I’m there. He’s like flatline. Bless him. But he’s got he’s got a bit of a point there, isn’t he? He’s been away. He’s been mixing it with the Brook Keepers, the Bryson’s of the world and um Johnny Rams, all the big dogs. And he comes to little old Wizzley with the golf life boys. He’s a little bit flat, bless him, but we don’t care, do we? We’re still going to put him in the pipe hopefully. It’s a lot to play yet, so don’t get carried away. That is a sloppy shot. 82. Just run through the rough. That’s a golf shot. That’s a proper golf shot. Tell you what, Blandy, you’re on for one a day, boys. Oh, get in the trap. Yes. Shouldn’t do that. I am bunker. Right. What’s he there for? Four. Putting for five. Still a bit on there as well. now a little bit big time in it. Look at this. Got the old masters. Look at that. Look at that. Look. Look. Old Augusta. How do you feel? You know when you don’t do aim point, do you? Oh, yeah. I do. Yeah. I use my feet. Yeah. So, when the boys are all over your line like that, what you like get off? Do you get like Well, you wouldn’t. You just wouldn’t do it. No, you know, so like if I was doing a tournament here. Yeah. You know, you you’d kind of go here. Yeah. Yeah. Obviously, you can see where you’ve just trotten on my line there. I didn’t. So, I’m assuming this is fine now. So, yeah, you just kind of you do that. Go to the side. Yeah. A bit of etiquette, but I wouldn’t expect anything from footballers, so it’s fine. Do you think that landing? If that’s you know, if that’s how you want it, then that’s fine. Cuz we got a good club up here, ain’t we? We have got a good good bunch of boys, haven’t we? We’re not really allowed to talk about We’re not talking about it. No, we’re not allowed. The Yeah, I’m I’m I’m on the board, so I I could have you I could have you for a certain club at the Whizzley, but we’re not allowed to talk about it. I could I could have you disbarred from the group just for even mentioning something. I won’t say nothing. Hi, boys. Right. It’s got to dribble off of it. I’m going right off. It’s got to saying wind might hold it. So great birdie. Cheers mate. Well done. Fours. Oh, don’t mess with that thing, dear. Like that’s a joke. That is not very often, right? 167. Winds. It’s got to be in. It’s got to be in. It’s gusting though, ain’t it? down off the left behind. He started bad. He has. It’s got to be off the right. So, we’re going to shovel one out. A little bit of a cut hold up seven. Ah, leave it wind. Just smother it a fraction. Come on. Come on. Come on. move. It’s hard, Blendy, is it? It is. It’s not easy today. What you going with, Blendy? Eight. No, I’m got the same as you. Like, it’s just you feel like you want to just like push it a little bit more so it stays out of the breeze. I think eight is I’m looking at the water. It’s into, isn’t it? Yeah. But then you you see like these trees moving like you can’t believe. And the flag’s not the flag. Move the right shot. It’s round pin eye in it. Just got to try and get it right. I think you you know like you you you’ll gauge the the distance better if you’re hitting like sort of softer shots. Yeah. You know, it’s not going to be spinning so much. Control the fly a little bit better. Wow. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry, Blandy. That was El Draano bang in the middle. Hey, that was a good part of that. Cheers, boys. Oh, let’s get the chats in on this front n Bland. We e say what? Let’s have all the chats on the front nine, didn’t we? I I told my misses not to worry about dinner. I could be home for six. Get in. What is he? Well, I don’t know what to say here. Just foot on the neck and just keep going. I wasn’t expecting that. I was expecting, right, okay, I might have a have a chance here. And good putt, though. I got to say, it’s going for you. It’s going for you. I’m um five up on eight. I still got my shot on nine. I have a big thanks to this boy. You’ve helped me join violin. I feel sorry for you. Five up on eight. Still got a shot. Ain’t no off in this position. Yeah. And I was helping you on the range as well. Yeah. You mate, I was going to say you’ve helped me in my game, mate. So yeah, you can take a little bit of um Not really. Well, you can. Well, I can’t. Not to cuz you wouldn’t give him you anyway, would you? He’s a realisty. That’s why. Jesus Christ. That’s gone miles. That thing in it. That’s gone a long way. It has gone a long way. Yeah. That’s like That’s motored on down there. Yeah. Great line. Yeah. Told you it’s similar for distance, didn’t I? Yeah. I think I’m about 20 coach. I think I’m about 20 past you again. Let’s pick him up. Little major chat. How good was that? Yeah. Talk to me. Yeah, it was. Yeah. Uh, so was it the US first? No, USPGA. Yeah. So, uh, where was it? Uh, har uh, Benson Harbor on Lake Michigan. So, yeah, it was, you know, your first first go. Didn’t know what to expect. Yeah, I kind of felt, you know, I, you know, you don’t get, no one really gets too cocky in golf cuz it always sort of tends to bite you in the ass. Yeah. But I was quietly confident. I thought like, you know, if I know I know I was playing pretty good, you know, my results on live have been pretty consistent. Yeah. Um, so I thought, you know, if I keep playing the way I’m playing. Did you just turn 50? Uh, no. I I didn’t play it the first year. And why was that? just uh I think I was playing other events. I think it was might have clashed with the live event. Okay, go on. Um so yeah, I I thought if I you know if I play the way that I was playing that I felt right I would be in there somehow come Sunday, right? So yeah, to I think I shot seven on the first day and then back that up with six on the second day and I was leading by two or three. Wow. Um and then played a pawing on Saturday. Right. Why? Didn’t have it. Yeah. Just bit like today, you know, you just kind of just got outside the wrong side of the bed, I guess. You know, I It’s not like my golf not like my golf swing felt bad or anything like that. Just just happens. I know. You know, a couple of three putts just mad, is it? Couple of poor shots at the wrong time and a little bit of frustration and then So, yeah. Yeah. So, surely second round that is the first in England going hang on a minute, we’re in here. Yeah, definitely. You know, but you you still know, you know, I’ve played enough golf to go, right, could still buy it. Oh, there’s still a long way to go. Um it was, you know, I wasn’t sort of thinking, right, this this is this is done. Um so, yeah, I kind of felt like I let the field back in um on uh on Saturday. And who was the boys breathing down your neck? Uh, so there was like Richard Green. Um, Ernie, um, so I played with Ernie on Sunday, Greg Charas who had played had a good career on Yeah. PJ tour and I puted so poorly on the Saturday and I had a tailor made putter with me, right? And I went on the put and green all intent is right that lab is not coming out Sunday and I did two hours on the putting green Saturday evening completely with the tailor made right and I just like right this is it this is the partner I’m going with and I went back and I did you play with before though the uh the lab not that one so why did you mix it though I don’t know for some reason I had it with me why I don’t know um wow I didn’t know that and so yeah I did two hours with the tailor made on Saturday evening, right? It’s in the bag Sunday. And I was just I was back at the hotel and I was like, I think I was one off the lead. And I was like, I’m going to get crucified on TV for this. If I don’t win, I’m going to get crucified. Yeah. You know, why has he come out on, you know, he’s won off a lead on Sunday in a major? Why has he changed his putter? And I’ve gone, I can’t do it. I I literally can’t do it. Still at night. So, you know, the the putters were at in in at the club in the locker room, but you made the decision. So, on Sunday, Yeah. I put the other one back in. Shot 63. Great decision. So, wow. Um, so yeah, it it worked out. Yeah, we’ll hit these and then we’ll have a little chat about the US Open. 170’s got to be playing 160 in it. Pitch 170. Playing 160. 155. Nice smooth eight. coming in. [Music] Yeah, it’s a good shot of that. What you in there then? I had nine, but just like yours, I thought yours would take a nice release forward. It’s going to hit like a pushy eight. Whoa. Firm bounce. Good though. Blandandy. It’s hard to get the right club in it. Took a slightly different bounce to yours. Yours yours just kind of think just pitched in up slope. It looked wet as well, didn’t it? So that was USPGA. And when was that? What was that? That was like end of May. Yeah. And then I had no intention of playing the US Open. Even after that, surely you was I I was actually I was I was actually committed to play in an international series in Morocco, right? Um and I had all intentions of, you know, kind of honoring that commitment. Now I spoke to a couple of people and they g like you cuz I the thing is as well I’d missed the I’d missed the closing date of the entry. I literally had to enter like that Sunday of the USPGA. Yeah. And I kind of went like I’m already committed. Sure. They wanted you in as well. They did. Yeah. The the the the USGA have gone look we really want you playing. Uh and then it was only about it was about a week later. So I was a week late entering and I just I said okay right you know if you can and they still look like I think I was kind of like first reserve almost really. So you didn’t. So cuz they can’t just they can’t just kick somebody out. Of course. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They feel But how did you get in? What? So I don’t know. Then they just called me and said, “Look, you will be in the tournament. We just can’t we just can’t put you in right now.” Okay. So I assume I was just kind of like they put me in at first reserve. Yeah. Where was that? Um you So yeah, I I think like two weeks before or something like that. I was I was okay. I was in um and I’d played Nashville the week before and played quite well. I think I top 10 in Nashville. So I was going there again sort of quietly confident and of course you know right you know that right I’m good enough here. I’m I’m I can you know if I play well I can beat these guys. Yeah. So yeah I sort of started pretty slow um on Thursday. I think I shot like two or three under which was which was fine. And then I think I shot seven or eight under I think on on Friday to get right in the thick of it. Um and then I think I shot a couple under on or I think I shot level. I think Saturday was quite a tough day. It was quite windy and level par was pretty decent score. I played I played played quite well on Saturday and then but this there was this Japanese guy that was just doing nothing wrong and he was like I think I was four behind going into into Sunday. Yeah. And the way that um Newport played real linked not a links sort of looking course but right on the sort of north shores like New York and that kind of place. Um, and it like it played like the first whole par five like in the morning played straight down wind and then literally at noon the wind just switched to complete sort of 180 and it would play straight into. Right. Okay. So it would make 18 play really long and like two or three holes on the back n really long um like in the morning cuz it would play into and um so I I got off to a real strong start on Sunday. I think I was like four under through eight and but I was still like three behind. He got off to a good start and I was like gez we’re not going to catch this guy. And then we had a huge storm come in on 11 and we we we got done for the day and that was it. We had to come back in the morning and I think I was still three behind. Um and but it meant that when we came back in the morning the hard holes would play into right and I knew he was quite short. It’s quite a luck. So, I thought, right, if I as long as I can if I can make pars on those hard holes. Yeah. And I get a little bit of help from him, I I I think I’ve got a chance. And I I I managed to birdie one of the long holes. Even like I was hitting like I think I was hitting like four iron into one of them and I hit it to about 12 ft and hold it for for birdie. And then I birdied 15 and and I saw he was struggling on 14, right? cuz he I was in the next last group and I saw that he made six and then I bird 15 to take the lead. Wow. Um and then I kind of messed up on 18. I thought I could carry this trap off the tea and I didn’t and it meant I couldn’t get to the green and ended up hauling about a seven eight footer for a bogey. Uh and then yeah, I managed to I think it was like the third extra hole uh or fourth extra hole I think of a playoff. Um, but I still I still think in the US Open I got lucky where with with I think if we hadn’t have had that weather delay, you wouldn’t wouldn’t have been yours. I don’t know. No, you can’t call. I know what you mean. But the the harder holes were playing straight downwind. Yeah. Which for him would have been a lot easier. Awesome achievement though, mate. But yeah. Yeah. So, you know, there’s only two other guys that have won their first two majors, which is Arnold Palmer and Alex Checker. So, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was trying. Obviously, it would have been nice to defend the PGA and go. No one’s ever done three for three, right? Okay. Um, which was back in May at Congressional. And yeah, I got myself in there. I was like, I got myself a couple of times one off the lead and I always just managed to shoot myself in the foot. Yeah. You know, make a double or something like that and fall like three or four back and and then I’d sort of get back to sort of one, two off the lead and then I’d make another and I just never got any real momentum going that week. So with all your career wins, British M. Did you win on the main tour as well? Yeah, British Masters. Yeah. Is that the only one you won? Yeah. British Masters won on Live as well, didn’t you? No, I haven’t won. Oh, that was a team event. Sorry. Still one. Um, USPGA Seniors US. What’s the biggest? What’s one where you go, do you know what? That was mustard. Uh, I think you always Yeah, I think the British Masters is always cuz it’s, you know, it was main tour. It was your first first win. So that’s always going to be, you know, the special one, I guess, as such, cuz I think that that kind of opened the door to what came. I think I I I don’t know. How old was you then? 48. 48. So I can’t you can’t say yes or no. But if that win had never came, would you have gone on to do the two senior majors? I don’t know. Maybe, maybe not. I don’t know. you know because you know winning gives you that that inner that it strengthens that inner belief it gives you that confidence so who knows I don’t know but so yeah I always kind of look at that as probably the I remember watching that that you know the sort of the start of it I guess you know if I you know if I won on Liv if I did manage to win on Liv I think that would go to the top just because of the standard of players that you’re playing against you know to be able to go Yeah, I had the other way, weren’t you? You was up. Yeah, I had I had the chance. Where was you? Yeah, I had a real chance last year at Greenbryer. I was fighting Brooks and John Ram down the stretch. Yeah. And I was one in front with six to play and I shot I think I shot one under last six and missed the playoff by a shot. I bogeied the last. Yeah, I I felt I needed a two. I par three I felt like I needed to make birdie. M um you know they’re playing a par five behind me which I just birdied. So I think right they’re going to birdie that hole. So I’m still I’m still one behind cuz Brooks had made two birdies and so had John. So they were actually then had gone in front of me and um and there was a back flag and I hit a really good n iron and it just it was again it was a bit of a day where it was a little gusty at times. Yeah. Uh cuz I knew wedge wouldn’t get over this ridge. the the pin was just on the top of this ridge. I knew I couldn’t carry wedge up to the top of the ridge. So I right, okay, I’ve just got to hit like a 3/4 nine and it just it pitched like two yards short the flag perfect about 6 foot left of the flag and it just took a hop and went in the back trap. Um so you know it was okay. It’s disappointing but you know it was an easy disappointment to get over cuz I I I played the right way. Yeah. You know it was right I I need to make two. I didn’t kind of just think, well, you know what? I can hit wedge here 20 ft short of the hole and try and hold it. You know, I was right, okay, I’ve got to I’ve got to try and force the issue. And it just went right there in it. And yeah, it just it that that day it just it didn’t it didn’t work out. But yeah, I I I I didn’t shy away from it. I I I to you know, I played the right shot. Yeah. It just it just pitched two yards too far. But that’s like you say that’s that’s the final reignited you though live bland isn’t it? It’s reignited the plan master with actual Yeah. But you know unfortunately you’re putting the flames out here a little bit. So if but if you can sleep at night with that then I’m sure you’ll get over it. You carry on. That’s clumsy. kind of thing putting up and over the ridge. Yeah. Pick it up, mate. Take it away. It’s not happening for you. Fur and straight. What mate? Firm and straight. Sloppy that was it. Yep. Well, that was naughty, weren’t it? How quick was that? Well, it’s kind of the thing with mine. I knew once you get it over this ridge, it’s quite it’s quite lively, but you’ve got to you got to give it the pace to Yeah. You know, it’s quite easy to leave my putt where yours was. Right. Ninth hole, 430. Winding off the left. I think it’s 285 in that trap. So, three would keep it short. soft belt. All right. Yeah. Just down the right side, huh? Moved a lot, didn’t it? It was. Yeah. Ch. That new little freewood here. I’ve had this a while. Have you? How does the tour vans work out there on your live? We don’t We We have a workshop. Just one workshop. Yeah. It’s got some product. That’s interesting, isn’t it? Maxi. Um so you have one work van all go on. Yeah. you know, it’s got starting to get a bit of product on there, but um you know, there’s no reps or anything like that. So, you can’t you can’t properly test anything, right? So, it’s quite difficult to get in. You know, this is one thing I’ve sort of struggled this year is getting into a driver that I really like, you know, and I can go on give us a bit of what you start with at the How’s it going? Uh so, I’ve been I’ve been sort of mcking around a bit with tight list. Yeah. Um, yeah, I’ve got the Shrixen in at the minute. Ping. Yeah, I think the Ping is a good driver. It’s very stable. Yeah, it’s probably not the quickest on the market. So forgiving though, is it? It is very forgiving. Um, cuz that’s the good thing about used live boys. Now he’s all non-contracts. You see all the best gear come out, don’t you? Like used. How many boys are using these tricks and irons? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, a lot of guys that Yeah. uh are using them that, you know, don’t have to use them. Yeah. So it’s um you know but everybody makes good good equipment now you know you if you go back sort of 25 years you probably had you know tightest of all been up there. Yeah, at least it gives an opportunity to have a little look, doesn’t it? Um, acoustically feel wise. It’s the same with a golf ball now. You know, a golf ball, you know, if you if you stood there and had a Callaway, a Titus, a Tailor Made, a Shrixen, you wouldn’t really notice much difference, right? Whereas if you go back 30 years, you know, it was just tightless. Everybody else made they made golf balls that weren’t even round, you know? So just everything has got, you know, driverwise. I’ve got this Shrexen driver at the minute which is uh which is actually quite fast. Uh but again it’s just trying to get the right sort of setup with it. You know the loft um you know the shaft. This is a slightly different shaft than I normally use. Right. Um, so you know that’s the sort of thing you’re kind of doing it all yourself which is Yeah. Yeah. Do you not like that though? But yeah, you know sometimes you want someone there just you know just to kind of go like right you just do this just do that you know oh let’s try this shaft cuz it’ll got you. You know it’ll react slightly different whatever you know it’s just to sort of get like you know if you’re trying to put spin on it or you’re trying to get spin off it. Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes not always just about the loft. You know, you could try a different shaft. Got you. You know, but I don’t know. I don’t know enough about that to I’m probably the best. You kind of go, “Oh, I like the way this shaft feels.” Yeah. But for a certain head might not be, you know, what you need fitting myself. I love it. I’ve held up here. Bland dog. You’re getting it today, aren’t you? I got 147. I think it’s a little bit of help off the left. I think I don’t know whether I can get a wedge there or not. Might just hit a little pushy nine. Body’s feeling a little tired. Stewart wedge. No, I hit a little nine. Probably took a little bit too much off it. 144. I’m a little nine. Tiny little nine. Oh, Jim. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. Blandandy, look at this. This is the longest putt you’ll ever see. No joke. Why don’t you get on this? Right. I told you it’s a proper one, ain’t it? What’s that? It’s ridiculous, isn’t it? At my bag. Come on. Fractionard. That’s silly. You got to have a little bit of fill. In me head, I thought just do it as hard as you can. It’s just ridiculous, isn’t it? Look at that. It’s so knobbyby. It’s embarrassing. But get a shot on this hole. Blanding. Unlucky, son. When it’s just not your day. right? Five up on the front line. Come on. It’s not his day. It’s my day. It’s a bad time. That’s what I’d say. Oh, nearly ended up in a trap. Five up. He’s a bit flat, is he? Still want to go, Blandandy. Hey, we still going. Yeah. Oh, he wants a piece. See on the back nine, kids. Brought something to our attention, didn’t you? Yeah. Obviously, we didn’t we didn’t have a card. No. So, and I’m just trying to get a little win. Yeah. You know, just to make myself feel so Yeah. I’m trying to talk myself off the ledge here. I think I know where we’re going. Go on. So, actually on mil you don’t get a shot on nine. Okay. So it doesn’t change the first eight holes, but it changes nine. So I would have won nine. So I’ll give you that. Go off the card. So what’s that? Back to two. No, back to four. Oh, but what hole? I was Yeah. So okay, it has changed the last hole. So you win the last hole. It doesn’t change the first eight. The first eight even on where you would have got your shots doesn’t change cuz you won those holes anyway. And what shots do I get on here? On here you get shots on the second and the got to be fifth. Yeah. All right. You still got your trump card as well, Jim. You So, yeah, I got Yeah, but he’s not he’s Yeah, he’s not going to use that, is he? Not unless uh not unless he starts folding. Got a little trap. Was you short? You always had the ball that far forward. Yeah. Started on I I’m trying to help. I was helping you on the road. I’m just trying to help you. Just trying to help you. It’s just the angle I’m playing at. All right. Okay. It’s even further forward than I thought. Drift then. Come on. Drift hard. Oh, you dog. Always kick left. I don’t know. We might both be in there. Oh, yeah. It’s modern golf ball for you, Jimbo. No, I know. Do I I do play it a long way forward, don’t I, Bly? So, in all fairness, sometimes with a driver, I don’t mind that front toe. I don’t mind it. I’d rather see it a hair forward than back. Back. Yeah. Poor that. It’s hit the flag and then pop back. 103. You should just roll that in there. It’s a shame as he stands there laughing. Footballers. A noing etiquette whatsoever. Poor. Really? It is very poor, I would say. Is your Is yours all right there? Do you want a teg under that? Are you okay? It’s so that’s that’s almost line too good, isn’t it? You’re probably a bit disappointed with that, aren’t you? It’s really pure, isn’t it? Hey, come on, mate. Nearest to pin for a tenner effort there. Le couldn’t I didn’t have a shot. Not that bad from there. [Music] Oh, is that a penalty? What’s that? Broke my neck. Broke my neck there. I thought that was long when I hit it. Bllye, I got you. I got you, mate. Come. I can’t let you do that. You’re a guest, Blandy. off. Go on. It’s a one and a one. One from the right and one down. Come on. 8 in break. [Music] It’s it good mate bit woolier. Yes. Well done, son. Well done. It’s a bit of hard work. Still four. Yeah. Right. Second on church. 540. Only four in it. Still game on here. Bland. I’m telling you. He’s loving up a bit. I can just I can sense it. Turn. Turn shot. Very good. Cut up a little bit. Trap RT shot for me. Yeah. Right. Fanta trap 190 to that far trap into I’m just going to a five iron up here. Oh, me old knee give way there. Oh, he sensed a chance. What’ you have, Landy? Golf shot in it. Middle of the green. Yes. Oh, 215. Sniff a bit now, can’t you? Horrible man. Look at him. The smile on him. 160. It’s only game. You just said it’s only game on if you’re going to 170 into. It’s got to be playing 190. That got to be. Would you say Bernie is that that that second trap up the left there? That’s new, isn’t it? No, that’s always been here. That’s it. Yeah. Are you sure? 100%. Don’t think about it. Just did it. It’s a golf shot. That is Come on. Come down. Come on. Oh, baby. I just stayed there. Bland dog. Too much club. It’s a golf shot, you know. That’s a proper shot, Lando, weren’t it? Come on, talk to me. It’s all right. Thought you might have taken it on a bit more. What with a shot? Are you mad? Yeah, but if you if you make four, Blandy, I’ve got that part. Four for three. All right. I’m probably making five. No, it’s a good shot. It’s a good shot in that wind. Bland. That was awesome. That looked quite good. That, didn’t it? Wow. Go on. Take away. Oh, you’re too kind. You don’t misremember that. How’ you want it? Um, whip it out, mate. bad touch that blland dog, weren’t it? Yeah, I was surprised that you Wow, you were that aggressive. I thought that’ be get your five, get out. Wow. I just didn’t have it down that quick. Oh yeah. Yeah. Come on, JB. Oh, rattled it in. Get in there. Great putt. Cheers, boys. Right, Blandandy, what you got? 170 playing. Yeah. 190. Uh, it’s got to be close to that. What you got? Five, six. I got six. Kind of like front edge is not that bad a shot here. I’d rather be probably a hair short of this flag than long of it. I’ve got it. 170 playing 185 190. Yeah, just got hit by that. It’s good shot though. Just got up on me a little bit, didn’t it? Just a fraction. Whoa. Where that go? Back. What? Right or left? Middle of the green. Just went straight through the wind. Slightly up, then down, and then two off the left. back there, Jimbo. Cheers, mate. All right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Out. Yeah, please. Did a few close ones in he slow. A few close ones. What you working on swing wise? You got any um swing faults or not? Uh go on. Yeah. I don’t I feel like with my driver at the minute, I’m not swinging the best. Feel like I’m losing a little bit of height. So, the swing’s a little narrow. So, I’m seeing Tim on Monday. Tim Bart. Yeah. You’ve had him yoning. Yeah. Yeah. So, it’s it’s kind of like but I know it for me it’s quite a a sort of big thing to work on, right? And it’s kind of like when I’ve only got like four events left, yeah, I feel like I’m playing well enough to compete, but am I playing well enough like under the gun? Is it going to hold up? So, but it’s kind of like do I kind of just kind of carry on doing what I’m doing for the next sort of month and just, you know, and and you kind of think about it, but you don’t really Yeah, you work on it, but then you don’t really, you know, take it out onto the golf course. you just let it, you know, it’s not a sort of try and get something, you know, you you you you think of a different thing on the golf course and then you work on it when the season’s finished or got you. So, you know, we we’ll have a talk about it on Monday and Okay. Right. still four up 5:30 5. Good oldest shot. Oh, go on, Jimbo. Come on. Now, hey, hold on to your hats. Steady on, mate. I’ve got a bit in here. Oh, he went after it as well. That’s sloppy, isn’t it? Quite like it out there. That’s probably so bad. It’s good. So good. It’s so It’s that bad. It’s good. Yeah. I’ve just done my groin. That’s just the way it is today. You got away with everything, didn’t I? And that is the one I like it. 98. I’ve got to hit a big car here or that way. I’m in a big car rescue. Oh no. Oh no. Yeah. Oh, Jesus. That was close. Shot. Oh, wind hasn’t taken that. If I can just get him back to two, his ass will go. 132 downwind. 117 the front. I got a 50. [Music] Oh my god. S it. You’re having a laugh, ain’t you? Right. Let’s see if I can bump one in. [Music] Yeah. Pick it up, Landy. It’s just gone from bad to worse. This hole somehow. If you can play this hole like you played the last, if I can get back to two, I reckon you’ll go. What’s the M champ got? Not a lot. Sit. Oh, it’s in. Oh, that’s actually a better golf swing today, actually. Yeah. Cheers, mate. Ah, need to put the pressure on me, son. You tugged it, didn’t you? We did. Just dropped them. You get them free, didn’t you? Yeah. Yeah, these are free. Yeah. Three free shs for the big dug shot as well. It What drive? Yeah. This is what’s that drop two free? It’s got to be the shot. It’s good scout. This massive. He ain’t turned up today, has he? Front n’s hurt him. But also, credit where credit’s due, you’ve been unbelievable, Jim. You play well today. Played well. Got to finish him off. Come on. I don’t give in. Look at him. Still eyeing his looking can it shot. Oh, where that go? Long. Is it the fringe? What? Pitch long or pitch back fringe took the sting out of it. All right. Tell you what, I wouldn’t like this trip down wind staring water in the face. I wouldn’t stand the That could go in the water if he hits it too too hard. AR over there. Are you on the claw chipping? Yeah. Mustard, bro. Get out, mate. Can you get out of the way? This could be coming your way in a minute with that grip. Double on me with a claw in he. Take your time here, Jim. Don’t let him get him in your nut. Just assess it. Calm the down. Hey, you’re getting a little You’re getting a little jumpy, mate. Yeah, I am. Yeah, I’m sweating up. We should have a whoop on him for his heart rate. Oda leaking out my ass. Your heart rate’s at about 160 at the minute. I’ll take that. How’s that stop, man? How’s How’s that stop there, though? Honestly, I pitched it in there with a bit of drill. Like, seriously. Did you Were you thinking about the water? No. Oh, I was thinking just get it on the green. Why don’t you just play the the Why don’t you just shut up? What about that one? You allowed to talk to his guests like this now. Can see why they don’t come back, can’t you? And that’s what they call in the bully. Absolute pure desire for the game for free. Suck a blur. Yes. [Laughter] You’re welcome back, Blandy. Well, this is uh irrelevant. Hell, that’s a sicko putt. Right, that’s dormy. Great part, mate. Well done, mate. What’s happened there? Right, after all that, it’s dawn me. Got him where I want him. 3 92 path four. Come on, baby. Straight over this tree. Right then. Is he in front of the marker again? Any I’ll give it you. Oh, it’s so on me. Footballers. No. Terrible, aren’t we? [ __ ] terrible. Get left. Should be all right. I think depends on how far it’s Yeah. leaked it. Gone down there. You’re seven with there. Yeah. Just a shot, isn’t it? Yep. Bit of a high. We’re just trying to make that come off. I thought that must be Yeah, I was probably hit it a normal bit bit lower than that. Teed it up a little bit. Good then, didn’t I? I got a 9wood at home. Tell you what, mate, that ising brilliant. Little ninewood. Yeah, got it at the PGA. What the Qi 10s? Uh, it’s a Qi35. Really? Goes about 230 in the air up your nose. This is easy. Oh, why don’t you put it in then? Why would you only put that in for certain bits? Yeah, like the P. Like when we played quail, the rough was quite thick. It’s 7,600 y, right? We’ve had 3 in of rain. There’s no run on the fairways. Yeah. And you’ve got some par fives at five, sorry, par fours at 530. So even even like me like if I’m like say 285 290 through the air I’m still I’m still like 220 to the front. Yeah. And the thing is the rough the rough was quite thick. Yeah. Well say it was quite thick but it was like so I thought well even if I’m in the rough 220 front I’m not getting four iron to the front. It’s not it’s not going to come out. So I was like, you know, normally I like to play with four wedges. I thought, right, you know, I’m going to need more longer stuff in. Yeah. So I actually played like uh so I it was the ninewood was always going to go in and I take a 50° wedge out. So if I was laying up on a par five, I just wouldn’t lay up anywhere between sort of like 110 and 125. Yeah. I would either lay up to like 105. Yeah. Or I’d lay up to like say 135. Got you. So I I didn’t have to worry about the 50. And can you get that out of that thick gear? Does it come out? Oh, mate. It comes out unbelievable. Does it really? Or just back stance it traffic? I know. Just hit it. Really? Just hit it. And the thing like three I think I hit it like from the fairway. I hit it like four times. Yeah. like into par fours and I made birdie twice out of them. Wow. But you just stand there just straight up your nose and it just comes down on the green as soft as anything. Great club to have. Like DJ has one in all the time. Tommy Fleetwood put one in. Yeah, I see that. A lot of the boys use them, they now. What you got, Bandy? Oh, 106 50. Hit it with a little. I think it’s pretty good for distance. Got 96 93 yard shot 92 yards. Oh no. Oh, probably preferred that in the trap. Lie weren’t good. You know, was it in one of those like Yeah, you know them bear bits. Is it in like one of these lines? No. Drain these lines? No. As in just bit of a depression, but should still be better than that. Oh, that’s what happens when you don’t concentrate. Thinks the game’s done, don’t I? Come on then. Jez one up. Chip it in. Knowing the way today’s gone, he will do. Honestly, pick it up, Landy. Wow. Just love golf, you know. I just, you know, uh, just give them. Want to let you know that there will now be no talking between that suits me fine. 188 wins like that back right pin. He’s got six in he. Get in. Oh, don’t drift. Find a bit. That’s got to get down. Stop. Oh, you’re having laugh, Ly. They’re making it hard for himself. How’s that look? Stop. Oh my god. See how light it’s come out like a bullet. It’s too much club. You’ve hit six. I’ve bit six, mate. That I don’t want to hear it. All right. Sweet. Don’t Don’t give it to be now, mate. Sake. This is to put the hammer in. Come on, JB. It’s straight there. Stop. Stop. Pretty good. Take away, mate. [Music] Come on. Left off for the Vic. Come on, JB. For the Vic. No. No. We love golf. Let’s go down 17. Rat. God made this hard, didn’t I? We’re up 17. Is the driver always focused? No, you know the score. But we don’t need any anything here. This is a big big big hole. That great pole again. Oh, Jimmy. Honestly. Oh, where’s that bounced? It’s all right up there. And all fans, that’s done you a favor. You’ve actually got What’s happened here? This is wheels off stuff. 65 yards. Get on that line. Honestly, it’s absolutely mean. 70 yard. Come on. Go. He’s played a pretty decent shot there. He’s going to make four. So, somehow got up and down this. Get up. Get up. It’s hard there, weren’t it? Come on, Blandy. You’ve all day out. Yeah, please, mate. Oh, it’s got proper serious in it. Thought that was Flandy. Loved it. Me old son. So much fun, mate. Mate, thank you so much for coming on. Thank you. Enjoy it. Where are you? Got to thank the Whizzley as well for having us in. It’s been so good. Um, if you did enjoy that guys, I don’t know what you will enjoy. Bandy, I love you. Victory to the bully. Come on the golf life. Cheers, old son. I quit.

  3. 2 things I noticed. The way Jimmy looked at the camera in disgust when cocky golfers were mentioned & the other being the guest was a bit of a knobhead

  4. Shocking effort at banter from Bland in that bunker in 10. Did it for too long, looking for a reaction – but fell flat. Blokes over 50.

  5. Mental. he’ll takes shots of pros when he plays of scratch/1 ha! Ain’t really pushing himself
Also when he plays against other amateurs never gives them many shots ha

He’s rules or not playing 😂

  6. To be fair Jimmy is one of the best golfers in the world, a classic case of should of been a golfer but just never joined the club
