from 28 ft for his first birdie of the day. Oh, and it looks good. It looks Oh my word. That is sitting right on the edge of the cup. You might want to walk a bit slower, Tommy. Just give it a minute. There it goes. And that’s why you win. Yeah, that deserves the smile. Just a little wedge. Boy, that paid off, didn’t it? Getting that 3-wood all the way down there to 130. Able to spin that thing. And we check in with Maverick McNeely. He’s had a pretty good week going. Finished his round yesterday with a disappointing double bogey at the 18th, but for birdie at the second his good friend Sam Burns did it. And Scotty has now given himself a great chance for a birdie at the first. That won’t help on this pitch shot. Going to be running downhill. Well, I think he did awfully well with this. A little more run out. It’s going to leave a downhill putt. And it is. Well, the world’s number one player is now up to 13 under par. And McIntyre still has his par putt remaining. Hard to keep this short of the hole. Complete jumper. Not the start here, kids. No, not at all. And with Scotty Sheffer lurking after a birdie on one, he’s already going to start feeling that pressure mount up to solidify a spot to East Lake. So, who knows, Terry, what he’s going to end up at the end of the day. And this is second on the way from 109. This tantalizing green here. Angled left to right. whole location on the very top. Most players have elected to we be way back there. Ricky was talking last night after his round. He knew exactly what he needed to do. Not numbers wise, but make have a big day. Make that jump. Going back to back here, four and five to get it to seven under. Second one from about 10 ft. Ricky second on the way from 132. Likes to draw it in here. Gets that to pull back in. You heard him say it’s money that it was. Listen to that crowd pulling for Ricky side. This for birdie at the eighth. Putting back uphill. Going to have to put some pace on it to get it there. That’ll work. She goes and in for Kim who gets to seven under. One under on the day. Really smiling. Only three out of 11 players have got up and down from here. And that was well done. Yeah, about all you could do there. Facts. Up and over. A small rise in the green, but very makeable. [Music] [Applause] Those roars are just going to grow if he keeps doing that today. That had to look excellent to him. So, it’s taken five holes and Scotty Sheffler has caught Robert M. McIntyre. Maverick McNeely right now in a share on fifth with Fowler. This from long distance. You can see the pace of these greens picking up. Harry Hall there too, but the important jump for him. Look at the bubble up there. So Fowler on the outside looking in at the moment to seven sand wedge for Sam Burns from 114. He should be able to get plenty of spin here. Little draw. Oh, nice. Look at that. Hold it really close now. Chance to get within two. [Applause] Turning one in from right to left. This could be good if it spins a little left. Not a lot left. Another outstanding red shot from the fairway. Oh, number one has sole possession to the lead. This a really accessible whole location right in a bowl area. If you can get the distance right out of this bunker, you can get it close. Oh yeah, you called that one cuz see Harry Hall number 32 in the race. This is third at nine. Just got to touch that ball back and his stance kind of scoops it. Helps quite a bit inside the top 30 to number 28. Just got to get the win right here. This is good looking. More pressure applied. Solidly struck. May need to get down. It’s down. Yeah, he hit it about eight or nine feet. Too too far for you, Bones. You’re getting your eyes are too trained watching him too much. Second for Burns. Got to be careful with this, Brad. You got to want to fly it past this hole location. You don’t want it to leak to the right either. Careful. You want spin. Okay, this putt breaks a little bit left to right. Maroy made this one for a two. Can Ricky get it? Looks good. Big time. Just moments ago at 16. at 15. Ricky Fowler with the third and he does not change the circumstances. This is how plus years into the wind. A lot of ball and that was his fourth. This would be a terrible time to make a bogey or double bogey perhaps. Bogey. Jeez. Look at that ball run away. This screen is really complicated. Oh yeah, you can’t be better than this guy. Tell he’s ready to go when I talk to him on the range this afternoon. Ludvik should have gotten a read here at 13 right at the very end. It’s a subtle little break to the left. That looks good. Give these guys a read. Really? Everybody’s hitting that green 12. Nobody wants to be short there, that’s for sure. Shler looking to tighten the screws on McIntyre’s got a long par putt. And that one drifts by. Oo, just when you say that, a miscue by Sheffler. Oh, wow. And that just went by 2 and 1/2 3 ft. All right, back at 15 with Sheffler in the bunker off the TE. Eight iron for McIntyre on the way. That’s a nice looking draw. Oh, and he got the forward kick there. These greens are firming up. And that’s going to be a good puck there. Came out left. trying to cut a little bit. That’s a beautiful response there. That had to be the most pressure on Sheffler today. But did he get it inside of Oh, look how far that went by, too. Well outside the hole here. This one goes two cups of break. What a bounce back for Sheffller. Work so hard to get into the position that he was in today. One of those guys moving to the outside and in each week and just not able to pull off. See how forward he’s got that ball position. Really trying to hoist it up there. Now straight downhill. Got a chance and in Harry Hall. What a time to do that. The shot. Can you believe what you just saw? Bobby Mack can’t. Incredible stuff from world number one. Had to go up with height here to slow the ball down this hill. Look how long it takes to turn to pick up the speed. Scotty’s already made $23 million in bonus money with another 40 million on the line for next week. And that’s a nice way for McIntyre to finish up even though he’s going to come up short in that bid for his third PGA Tour win after [Applause] the inevitable has arrived again for the world’s best. Scotty Sheffler will take another playoff victory into another tour championship. where he will try to become the first ever in the 19 seasons of the FedEx Cup playoffs to take back-to- back FedEx Cup titles. And I don’t know a person in the place that would bet against him at East Lake. Thanks for watching the PGA Tour. For more, click here. To subscribe, click here.

  1. Scottie is a beast. Everyone is scared of him now… And it's starting to affect their play. Dare I say a bit like thr Tiger days?

  2. Scottie on track to be the greatest. It's really gonna be if he wants to. But good there's the signature events. If he doesn't get burn out and plays to win majors he could have the record by 50ish

  3. I see there are some Fowler fans here – my fav next to Tiger. It was hard to watch today because we're reminded of how ridiculous this playoff format is. Rickie finished 7th at St. Jude and 7th at the BMW and he's not in the championship. Points should get you into the playoffs then from there you have to perform: top 50 who win at St. Jude advance then top 30 finishers at BMW advance. What kind of playoff system is it where Rory can take off the St. Jude and still advance? Imagine your favorite football team starting a playoff game with 2 touchdowns – ridiculous. At least they dropped the staggered starting scores at the championship this year – good start now take the next step and do it all correctly.

  4. Scottie, in his prime right now, is one of the best players in the history of golf. Nobody has dominated like this since tiger and I would argue he has been more dominant than tiger. He either wins or finishes top ten in every tournament

  5. It's unfortunate that everything Scottie has done for the last six months means nothing next week in Atlanta for the FedEx Cup. Crazy that you don't get any credit for being this dominant. Why would they scrap a system that rewards the guys who have played best all year? Ridiculous. #smh

  6. Is there anything on the planet more annoying than the”USA!” chant? Oh yeah…their President! Well done Scottie. A closing clinic.
