Long overdue, to be honest, because the team 
haven’t been performing and I don’t know what his tactic actually were. So when you watch the games, 
it should have happened last year. But I was saying to one of the guys in the shop there, we 
need to stop rewarding failure. Quite like Gerrard back, Barry Ferguson as an interim, but now it’s 
a long time. I think we just need to have a bit of reflection, a bit of a postmortem on the season so 
far. Just have a look at the squad in the summer — who wants to stay, who wants to go — see what 
managers are available and take it from there. There’s a number of contenders. I’d like to 
see certain people. You don’t want to see maybe just due to the connection to Rangers. I 
kind of see we need a good kick up the backside, that’s what it needs. There’s 
not enough fight in the team. Obviously, Ferguson’s got what he needs in terms 
of he’s a Rangers man through and through. He knows what it’s like to win, he’s been a captain 
of Rangers — unlike the captain we’ve got at the minute. On an interim basis, Barry Ferguson to 
the end of the season gives us time to just build up a candidate list and then, yeah, just whittle 
it down based on who’s available in the summer. Definitely, I would like to see 
somebody like a Souness or even a Mark Clattenburg. I know he’s here at 
the minute but maybe in a more in-depth role — somebody that takes Rangers to heart 
and has got the passion to lead us forward.
