[Music] Hey, what is going on fellow throwers? My name is Daniel. Welcome to the Disc Download, a show where we take a closer look at some of my favorite plastic circles. Today we’re taking a look at a brand new disc from Disc, a Ricky Test Flight. Currently unreleased as of early August 2025, this new disc is a stable to overstable Putin approach disc designed for slower and dependable shots with a heavy finish. This disc is the latest from Discraft for two-time world champion Ricky Weissaki. The first being a proto putting putter, which still has yet to have an official release. This one will likely hit the markets quickly though and is eerily similar to other Ricky Weissaki signature discs with other brands. When throwing the Ricky Test Flight flat to slight hiser, the disc pushes forward and finishes hard without going very far. When throwing it flat or with slight annheiser, the disc almost immediately fights back and still has some finish on it. Given its lack of glide yet dependable flight, it will be best used for short-range flex lines and approach shots when you need to apply the brakes. While the new Ricky Test Flight is similar to other discs from other manufacturers, it’s not the first time that Disc has tried to hone exact disc specifications for their elite players. As for the Ricky Test Flight, the disc has a noticeable groove top similar to that of a Ringer GT. It also has a slight dome, blunt nose, sharp rim, and micro bead, all which contribute to its slow speed and overstability. This disc also marks the first to feature the new Ricky test flight stamp and may give us an indicator of future Ricky test flight discs, as well as a possible name. Ever since Ricky was announced as the latest addition to Team Discraft’s impressive elite team, both Ricky and Disc have really leaned into his nickname of Raptor Legs, even redesigning his logo and branding to match. Now, Disc already has the Raptor and the Talon in their lineup. But there are many other Birds of Prey. And if it follows the same naming scheme as other Groove Top discs, then I’m going to preemptively call it the Microaptor GT. That’s it for this download. Thank you so much for watching and have a great day. Cheers. [Music] [Applause] [Music]
