A husband and wife duo have triumphed in a mixed golf competition.

Phil Wilson, president of Ross Golf Club, and his wife, Jose, took the top spot on the final score sheet with 39 stableford points.

The tournament, known as the Anniversary Rose Bowl, saw 18 pairs competing for the accolade.

It was part of the club’s calendar of summer events, which provide opportunities for men and women to play competitively together.

Their win means the Wilsons will have their names engraved on the club honours boards.

Their closest competitors, Ros and Mark Ashton, and June Savidge and Geoff Robinson, each scored 37 points.

The club’s summer events continue to offer competitive play for members.

Earlier in the year, the Strong Trophy was claimed by former lady captain Sally Fycun and 2025 Seniors Captain, Doug Graham.

The club is now looking forward to the Bob and Mary Beavis mixed greensomes event, where current holders Kerry Welding and Richard Gofton will defend their title.

The season will conclude with the Flitch Cup, a competition reserved for married couples.
