Take a look at your calendar, there is still plenty of time to get out for the season – even though your league may be ending. My golf outings have been few and far between this year, and that got me looking at the calendar.

Golf Season In New York Still Has Three Big Months Left

Hard to believe we are rolling into Labor Day Weekend in 2 weeks. Where did the summer go? I am going to guess we were all too busy sweating to death unless you are one of those lucky Hudson Valley pool owners.

I am not kidding when I say golf is on at my house every weekend. Last night at 9 PM, I found my husband glued to an amateur match I feel like I should know more about, but I don’t. It is a big one, and it is being played on the West Coast, so it was on late in our time zone. It was exciting to watch.

Why Is There Still Time in the Hudson Valley Golf Season in August

So, back to why you still have plenty of time to catch up on our game if, like me, you have been too hot and busy to hit the course this summer. I, for one, love late summer and fall golf. I have always been more of an end-of-season golfer than a spring golfer.

Don’t get me wrong, getting out there in late March and early April is awesome. It feels like you are cheating the Northeast Golf Weather Gods when you can get in a game that early in New York. But the truth is, I prefer to be the golfer who gets one more round in as close to Thanksgiving as possible.

Being able to play golf in the Hudson Valley into November is fun, and I swear my ball goes farther in the cold, dry weather. So the way I see it, we still have three good golf weather months left on the calendar.

Two Hudson Valley Golf Courses That Have Afternoon Rates

Check in at your favorite Hudson Valley Course. I know Wiltwyck Golf Club posted this on their Facebook page this week: “Can’t sneak away during the day? No worries — the best golf at Wiltwyck happens when the sun starts to set!  After 5 PM, it’s just $35 for as many holes as you can play, cart included. Your evening plans just got a serious upgrade.”

Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland posted a few weeks ago: “We have plenty of afternoon and twilight space available for you! Twilight hours remain 5:45 – 8:00 PM, carts are in at 8 PM. Walkers can continue at their discretion.”

Golf Courses in The Hudson Valley with Great Golf, Food and Drink

Golf Season 2025 is underway and it’s not just the fairways getting ready. Many of our Hudson Valley golf courses offer great golf and great food. Many of them have party and catering options too. Even though they can be seasonal breakfast, lunch, or dinner at one of our local golf courses can mean a delicious meal with a guaranteed view.
