Poker is a helluva drug when you're playing cocaine.
People still out there saying he cheated, yet he made this terrible play and got lucky. FYI, they claim he marked cards with an invisible ink & the blue glasses were the only way to see those marks. If true, he would've been playing differently in this pot as he was less than 10% to win this hand & about 50% to chop (any card K-9 on the river they chop – 20 cards of 42 remaining) & no way to know his 4 outer deuce would fall on the river. So if Stu knows Stremp has the Ace… Stu does not go all-in in this spot with A 4
Bad bet on an inside straight draw- I don’t think this was any legendary moment, just a lucky gamble.
The glasses worn low on his nose were intended to hide his collapsed septum which was caused from years of cocaine abuse.
Also he shared 50% with whoever floated him (I think Billy Baxter, I may wrong). Was known to be very generous with whatever he had.
Your AI commentary sucks. You should really research and edit before you upload to YT. Huge dog on the flop, bad all in raise, board paired on the turn, and he sucked out on the river with about 14%. This moment did not make him a legend.
How did this make him an icon? He got his money in with the worst hand and sucked out.
The absolute envy in this comment section is hilarious. Go back to normal life and grind away at a real job for your betters
Winning this with half a nose to his ridiculous cocaine habit was ridiculous
I absolutely hate this AI content. Please don’t subscribe to this or it will be all we have one day
The blinds were up to a 16th, and a 8th.
Les 2 mains sont mal joué 😂
So Unger was behind the whole time and got lucky on the river. Yep sounds like poker.
If he lived, Phil Helmuth would be his shoe shine boy.
Legend??? In this hand Ungar is pure lucky and bad play right?
Get it in bad and suck out! What a legend! 😊
3 time world champ 🏆, no negativity from me.
Yo can we get another main FT outside?
WSOP 1990, he litterally was chip leader by far and overdose and didn't play for the rest of the event and still FT, The GOAT.
So he was a luck box
Imagine the dealer counting down in his ear… 10, 9, 8….
Getting it in bad makes you a legend? Damn, I must be an actual poker Icon by now!
You take arguably the best poker player ever, and you use the clip where he makes a bad move against a superior hand as the example of what makes him a legend? Who uploaded this nonsense lol.
He looked like Morbius.
So sad to see Stu ungarn like that. He was broke at the time and got a backer to play the Main Event. He wears the sunglasses like that because his nose is fallen in from to much Cocaine over all those years. He is in a verry verry low point in his life there but wins the Main Event the second time. Imagine what he would do to the Pokerworld if he only would have get the help he needed to stop himself doing Coke. What a Monster he was.
This moment is pure luck. Terrible all in
lol luck
It’s always been a phobia mine ever since I read about stew, hunger, and the fact he died only $800 to his name so I have personally made it my goal to keep over $1000 in the bank at all times no matter what
Stu became a legend when Gin Rummy players united to refuse to play with Stu because he waxed them all so bad before he was even in his 20s. He won every gin tournament and could read a deck after viewing it once. Guy was insanely talented, but also exposed to way too much at a very young age being a bookkeeper for the mob.
Skill is skill, but luck is luck.
Stu Ungar is indeed an iconic player, and he 100% earned and deserved this bracelet. However, you could have picked a better clip than one where he gets it in bad and sucks out on the river to support him being an icon.
