From Kenowick to the professional golf stage, a South Ridge High School alum is back in the Northwest this week looking to punch her ticket to the LPGA. Apple Valley News Now’s Dan Hansen caught up with her as she is set to tee off in front of family and fans later this week. After traveling the country in the Epson Tour, Theres Warner is back in familiar territory, competing just about an hour away from her hometown in Kenowick. Wild Horse and like everybody here has become almost like family. Warner, now in her second season on the Epson Tour, is playing in her fourth Wild Horse Ladies Golf Classic. She says being close to family and friends brings extra motivation and she hopes to inspire young women golfers to dream big. I hope that all of the juniors and high school players uh see this that like we’re out here playing and that they can do it too. The Epson Tour is the final step before the LPGA and every tournament counts toward the race for the card points. Warner says her history with this course could give her an edge. I know it so well. Like I grew up playing junior golf tournaments here. Um, but at the same time, the way they set up the course, like it’s really anybody’s anybody’s game out here. She says Wild Horse’s challenging layout requires strategy, but it’s the fan support that makes it special. The South Ridge High alum is looking to make the most out of her home course energy as she pushes toward her LPGA dream. Reporting in Pendleton, Dan Hansen, Apple Valley News Now. Very cool. The Epson Ladies Golf Classic is set to tee off this Friday with events happening all week long leading up to the tournament.
