hey everyone so as you noticed badger ben he’s back we’re going around to match play badger ben aka benny white versus myself beaver ben and uh if you haven’t seen the talking rock video go check it out this video sun peaks resort golf course thick trees narrow fairways and i mean this is a tight track like next level we are super stoked to be playing here today how you feeling ben feeling pretty good a little bit nervous about how narrow these fairways are um it’s either a slice or a hook so don’t really have a straight option so we’ll see how that goes brought lots of balls course is green the flower’s arrow the birds are chirping it’s match plate time baby and you know what that means you better be keeping the ball straight [Applause] [Music] [Applause] okay hole one here at sun peaks golf course 350 yard par four down the hill reachable for long hitters potentially but uh definite layout pole it is tight this front nine we’re playing a boat 180 yards to the creek from the black tees which is the tips here at sun peaks so uh 8 iron 170 club is the play just uh keep it out of the trees oh looks like we’re hanging out okay not terrible [Music] okay we’re all square great first hole don’t be the hero lay off we got a 470 yard par 5 potentially reached bowling two for some big dogs coming out but the big thing is after this hole will it come out again or will it stay away for the rest of the round uh but yeah reachable in two so might as well give her there is a creek at the front so you gotta clear pretty much your second shot all the way to the green if you’re gonna stay out of the hazard wow high ball but definitely in play got the sandwich out so this whole fairway slopes down to the right definitely want to keep it left side ended up staying out of trouble thankfully and about 240 to the green so can you uh go for it with the gap right here that is so good bunker time again go in oh badger band to win the hole let’s hear it get on to the fourth here short par four 372 yards uh looking about 250 260 to hit through the fairway past the barber pole into the woods so uh keep it left side everything is sloping down the mountain as you’d expect here on a mountain course go go ah drop drop badger ben here uh this is hole five we got a par three about 150 in the middle 164 to the pin so i’m gonna hit my nine iron because we got a downhill normally hit about 155 ish kick right left kick left come on six hole here 500 yard par 5 up the hill and uh you’re looking about 250 yards to get into the trees through the fairway on the right-hand side you want to keep it up the left side for the most part on this hole because you’ve got a pretty significant slope up from the road down towards the fairway definite no driver play for me unless i could hit a draw which you can’t really yeah pretty much right over the coyote hey buddy yeah we don’t know our animals that’s definitely not a coyote [Music] he’s on the short stuff 500 yard hole two gappers maybe dancing oh what a pipe what’s that four so i have to make this just to win to tie the hole i’ve already punched a tie wow that’s how we do it here at zombies unreal birdie in a par squares up the hole badger bend is still up one okay eight seven hole seven hole seven short par three coming off a high of a solid par five there a couple big putts couple big putts got the wedges out the wind’s behind us only one uh 26 to a back pin with the t’s way back as well time to go low kp time so much for kp time it’s a bar that’s a hole for you cool for me the match is all square eighth hole here dog leg left par four 361 yards from the black tees about 250 yards through the fairway so four iron is the layup club on this one just want to get it out to the barber pool there head over a canyon and a reasonably large green two-tiered to work with a couple bunkers up there as well to watch out for beauty oh yeah hole nine we got 297’s the middle of the green uh from here um so we got about 150 the 150 stick uphill a bit and then it gets narrow right after the 150 stick so kind of want to aim for that going up a couple clubs to get there yeah and see how it goes oh that hurts that hurts par for the win roger ben goes up one okay just wrapped up the front nine it’s been a good day of golf so far and we’ve got a monstrosity of a tenth hole what’s the yardage 566. uh a little bit downhill a long way a long way to go the downhill probably isn’t going to help us too much you got water down by the green nets on the left hand side if you’re at those you’ll probably end up in the fairway bunkers there and then anything right of the cart path is pretty much trouble it really does not open up much and your target off the tee should be the little aspen tree that you can see sticking up down there because you can’t actually see the fairway relatively blind tee shot as well to make matters more difficult love it just want to let you know i’m up one to end animals nice shot that was right at the right side pole of the net with a 250 260 yard shot gapper so we’ll see what it’s like when we get up there that’s the left side of the net so we’ll see where that is so you can see here you got uh ben’s ball down just to the left there and my ball is just over that fairway bunker perfect lay-up shot this guy’s not giving me anything oh sit didn’t win oh my gosh the pitching wedge stinger to 10 feet a couple birdie ops here i pulled it badger ben up two hole eleven a bit of a longer par four here 400 yards and fairly straight on one of the more open holes but uh got a lot of fairway bunkers and still pretty tight to the right hand side with the way that it slopes down towards the trees there so second hole of the day where the driver is coming out just got to keep her straight bogey for me then uh looking like he’s going three up you can two putt from here but we want to see the par all day two parts to start the back who am i badger band is taking me to the cleaners hole 12 430 from the tips we got a big sand trap on the left right around the sand trap maybe just past hard right once again we’re now lots of trees gonna risk it for the biscuit with the driver see how she goes yeah 250 to the bunkers on the left give or take big old canyon carry up to the green so all important tee shot i gotta get one back here should really tough hole here you need a lot of distance off the tee but if you go far your fairways no more than 20 yards wide then anything off the fairways is trouble so i don’t know cut keep rolling so this putt doesn’t matter ben walks away with a bogey just take a second to enjoy this beautiful backdrop full 13 409. from the back up the hill big body of water to the left big dogs coming out stunning backdrop what else is there to say bunker on the left bunker on the right bunkers around the green lots of sand on this course lots of hazards probably the most open hole we’ve seen yet he didn’t hit the draw whoa that’s deep that is in the forest that was good she’s still inside the friend zone maybe side door sally ties the hole with the hazard relentless badgers are relentless though 14th here longest par 3 on the chorus playing about uh 185 190 from the black tees got a canyon to carry as well as uh bunker at the back there to watch out for nice shots oh 16 what a golf hole massively elevated t-box looking about 250 260 to that large fairway bunker on the far side of the fairway your guess is as good as mine is to what club to hit left looks pretty dead way right is fairly dead but you do have a bit of a backstop there oh boy if we both do putt badger ben wins the match play [Music] keep rolling good match man very much closed me out early earlier than i would have liked still got two more holes so now we can just uh relax and enjoy the scenery you want to see me i owe you a second hot dog my friend wow a sad a sad realization that it’s the 18th hole and our round is about to come to an end but this 18th hole is a serious golf hole you’ve required a lot of shot shaping up until this point and this one is another tester it’s a 480 yard par-5 and requires a draw off the tee if you hit a straight shot through the fairway you’re not you know you’re barely over 200 yards to get into the trees there so mr ben trying to play a slice last hole go for it got the big dog out definitely reachable in two if you can keep it in play off the tee i’ve got a six iron how are you feeling though after the big win there badger man same as last time just another day just usual what i expected coming out here today okay we’ll see ya on the next tee shots oh and that’s why you hit big dog here that’s so good nice shot dude that’s how you finish up strong you know what the first drive six iron is going back in the cart we’re pulling out not driver but the gapper no sit down that is why you know it listen to peer pressure stick with the sick side well there you have it 18 holes at the yeah how about you definitely mountain golf easily one of the tightest tracks i’ve ever played so bring your a game when you’re playing here but such a fun course the views are stunning greens would
