If Rory can play with that haircut, anyone can show up and do their job. He just got a check for $1.8 million. Fresh out of college. What would you do fresh out of college? I would call up Shane Lowry and laugh at him for his $44,000 check this week. Here’s the great thing about this show. We are allowed to speculate about anything we want because we have no clue about anything. And we are back here on the Dan Golf World Show. FedEx Cup is underway. Round one is complete. We have crowned ourselves a brand new winner down there at the old St. Jude in Memphis. And I’ll tell you what, guys, it wasn’t my guy this week. We were close. We were so close once again. Come on. He could have been Mr. 101. Mr. 101 could have been my guy Tommy Fleetwood, but Justin Rose took it. And I will say he seems like a guy that that that has earned it. Yeah. You know what I mean? He’s put in his time. He’s second of the Masters this year. Yeah. You know what? You’re You bring up such a great point that he deserved this. I don’t know if this really, you know, is enough ointment on the burn from the Masters and not getting the green jacket to get yourself uh, you know, this win down in Memphis. But going into the FedEx Cup, Ryder Cup year, all those things are good things. So, he’s got to feel good about it. Look, he’s grinning ear to ear, you know. I don’t know. Justin Rose. I I’m happy for him. Rosie did it. He got it done. But not Tommy. Oh, Tommy walking in leading in the final day once again. Can’t pull it off. I know. I know. And I What was he up like two or three strokes at one point? Two at one point for sure in the final day. Yeah. I Here’s the thing. And it’s it’s also wild the level of positivity he maintains afterwards rolling into the press conference, you know, and and I think I think he’s he’s good at at, you know, forcing positivity because you need that in life, you know, where he’s like, listen, I mean, all we could do is look at the good things and and grow from here and uh not drive our car off a cliff on the way home, you know, all these things are good things. It’s so crazy cuz in the World Golf Rankings, he is 13 overall. He has never won a PGA tournament. It’s crazy. Well, here’s a crazy stat for you. Justin Rose, his first 21 PGA Tour starts, he missed the cut. I mean, holy cow. Could you imagine? Like, so how did he get up there? I’m assuming winning uh the cornfairy tour to get up there. How’d he get his card? You know what? I don’t know if he uh you know bought in some alley, you know what I mean? Handed some guys some cash. Uh I mean, could you imagine like you do all of that work to earn your card and then 21 times in a row you don’t even make the cut. How bad are you got to be questioning yourself? You got to be questioning everything. I mean, every piece of equipment, every member of your team, everything, your haircut. I mean, you analyze every possible detail of what could be causing 21 tournaments in a row. You’re missing the cut in the PGA tour. I wonder how many caddies he used. Probably not as many as Colin Maracawa this year. That’s probably a good guess. Yeah. Uh but we’ll get into that shortly cuz what the numbers at five now. Five. We’re at five. I mean I I’m trying to think what else have I gone through five of this year. Like I don’t Five pairs of underwear. Doubt it. Yeah. I got Hey, listen. I got a good batch. I’m on a I’m on a good long run here. Flip them inside out. Yeah. Oh man, you know, here’s the here’s the one thing I did say going into this. It was kind of like, you know, we had some of the European Rder Cup team guys and we had some US RDER Cup team guys all sort of there at the finish all kind of trying to fight for it. We had JJ Spawn in the mix. Obviously, Tommy Fleetwood in the mix. We had the one and only Scotty Sheffller who just came marching his way down. There’s no holding him back. Like I looked at what point early on in the tournament I’m like I don’t know where he was. He was at was it like some 20th or something like that? I’m like not for long. We just we know for a fact that won’t last because it is Scotty Sheffller. And what happens here? He is in the mix one stroke out. Like I can’t imagine the sweat rolling down these guys brow when you just like look over the scoreboard and every time that Sheffller name just bumped up a few more and a few more. Here he comes. Here comes old Scott. He’s got the day off from babysitting and he’s out here just to dominate on the golf course once again. Hey honey, day off from babysitting. Don’t hand me the kid until they give me the trophy. Yeah. And cover your ears here, Dan. But it’s kind of the opposite for Tommy. Oh, no. You see him at the top and you know, now this is going to be fine, guys. We’re actually This is a good thing. He’s like the Chicago Bears have a really good first few games in the rest of the season. It’s just like Rich, do you want to disagree with Josh on that? I’d like to give you some floor space. I want to disagree with Josh on that. You just can’t. With all of my heart, I would like to disagree with Josh on that. Unfortunately, I can’t. Similarly, I would like to disagree with the Tommy Fleetwood remarks, but similar position also cannot. Speaking of the Chicago Bears, I got these new shades when I went to the preseason game Sunday. Look at you go. Were they giving them out? Were you like the first 10,000 people in the building or That’s exactly right. And also we got the new we got the new cap going. Okay, hold on before you tell us anymore. Did you buy the cap at the game? I So, normally I don’t buy stuff at the game. Short story is yes, we did. Okay, we’re about to guess the price. We want to guess. We’re throwing We’re throwing a quick guess out there. What’s the brand? Scorching sun out there. I mean, scorching. Uh, it’s 47. Okay. So, this side right here. Yeah. I’m saying so 45 is my guess. Yeah, I’m saying I gotta go with 45, too. You guys are both 45. I know hat 45. Um, you know what? I’m going to go 46 cuz it’s evil. Uh, all right. So, the So, the price tag’s not on it. And the price I remember was with the uh with taxes and everything and it was 5327. Let’s go. I had no clue what it would cost, but I was guaranteed that I was going to screw you guys over on that. Dan, you have the largest hat selection in the world. I’m surprised you didn’t have it within 50. Well, it’s tough because like here, here’s a Masters hat I’ve never worn in my life and still has the price tag. And this is $34. So, you know, it’s it’s a different it’s a different ballgame, if you will. See what I did there? You’re welcome. Yeah. Like all the We had I had to buy the hat there, though. I mean, so it it was baking sun. Super super hot. Monica didn’t have a hat on or anything. And I’m like, we’re going to buy a hat and you’re putting a hat on. She’s like, but I don’t wear hats. I’m like, I don’t care. You’re like roasting right now. So Josh, did you buy that hat at the live golf tournament? Yeah, I bought this hat. All right, let’s throw some guesses out there. I don’t know what it cost. Um, I have the same hat, so I’m not going to guess. I know exactly how much I’m going 37 with tax. I was going to go 40. You’re closer. It They were $45 for hats. I got two hats. I got this hat. And I had to uh re-up on a smash hat cuz mine turned into the sweat hat. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. There’s that the transition point with hats where it’s like I want to keep it fresh, keep it clean. You sweat in it once. Now I just wear it to the range. Who cares anymore? Drenched. So everybody always talks about the Masters like, “Oh yeah, you know, whatever. The concessions are free. You’re cheap, but they make all their money back in the merch store.” All I’m saying is the Masters hat price isn’t that crazy comparatively to event price. That’s a good quality hat right there. Especially the one that you pointed out, that gray one. That thing is a solid hat. Like I I looked at Rich’s hat compared to like my hat compared to that hat. And I honestly think that might be the best quality hat. Well, especially for the logo on the front, but you know, either way, I’m now fine. It’s fine. It’s fine. Whatever. I don’t know. What were we talking about? FedEx Cup, something like that. I don’t know. Justin Rose, Fleetwood. Oh my god. Uh we got a few big names that are no longer in the mix. They’re not moving on. They’re not sticking around for the BMW Champ next week, which Rich, I do see you are on location there at the BMW Championship. Uh grass is looking beautiful. Uh weather, I mean, anything you want to give us just a quick little preview on conditions out there? Yeah. Uh weather’s nothing really notable on the weather. Uh I will say this rough is long and treacherous. It’s gonna be tough and the fairways are skinny. Uh, well, I’ll tell you what. Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland that Rich is at clearly right now. So, obviously, um, yeah, it’s going to be a tough one for the boys. Well, a couple of the names that are not going to be making their way out there to the BMW championship. Uh, who are we missing here? Altrich Potgeater. He’s been a fun guy this season, but he’s out. I mean, rookie season though. I mean, even just to make it into the the finals, the, you know, FedEx Cup playoffs. Can’t be mad. Jordan Spief, big name. He was fighting for it, too. He wanted it. He wanted in. He was scratching tooth and nail. Jake Knap, he’s done. I wonder what he’s doing right now. Probably relaxing. Probably, you know, taking a break from his just silky smooth golf swing. Think he’s bowling maybe, Josh. What do you think? Maybe he’s got to be rolling a few frames, if you will. For sure. You were going for a nap joke there and then again. What happened? I got to get better writers. That’s terrible. Uh, Windham Clark is out. Minw Lee. Rich, that’s your guy. Oh yeah, big Minwoo guy. Tony Feno among the names. Not going to be moving on. Their season has come to an end. Can I touch on Windham Clark real quick? You can touch Windham Clark all you want. Conversationally. No, I said conversationally. You guys calm down. So, I’ve noticed that this season and the back half of last season for him, he’s kind of like lost himself almost. Yeah. Well, was it full swing season one where we kind of like went through his journey and like his like mental health recovery and all this stuff or maybe it was season two. I don’t know. But either way, maybe it was both. And we saw he was just even talking about how he used to just get so angry and he’s learned how to like channel that and calm himself down. Well, now we’re smashing T-Mobile signs and stomping in lockers. I I think you’re right. I think he’s going through a tough patch and I don’t know did the tough patch cause him not to play as good of golf or is he not playing as good of golf which is kind of leading him down the road of tough I don’t know it could be one or the other could be both. I think it might be the fact that uh he’s not married yet. All his friends basically Yeah. So he has no reason to be married. I know. But I wonder I wonder if it stresses him out a little bit cuz he sees all his friends married. They all have kids now. And like they were talking with at the Masters, he was in the booth for the par three contest and all all they were saying was making fun of him like, “Oh, that’s going to be you’re going to be next. You’re going to be next.” He goes, “No, no, no, no, no, no, no.” He goes, “I don’t want to hear it from my girlfriend like or if he’s got a fiance or something.” But he it seemed like he’s not even there. Like he’s there golfing, but he’s not there. And so Rich, that was the perspective from somebody who’s about to be married who thinks, you know, that sort of uh frame of view, if you will. Rich, what do you think on that take? Well, see, I I think I have the best of both worlds cuz I’m married to a super hot wife and she’s also we don’t have any kids at all, so we both just do whatever we want all the time. And then it’s just I got a really cool friend to hang out with whenever we do cool stuff. Um, now let’s go over here. Not married, not about to be married, and also no kids. Do you think that this is leading to the demise of Windom Clark? No, I’m not going to lie. You kind of lost me when you were not going to lie to not going to lie to you. All right, I’ll just go crawl. Just leave me alone, everyone. I’m going to go find Windom and go crawl in his car. Here’s the great thing about this show. We are allowed to speculate about anything we want because we have no clue about anything. But you know what though? We we we present an entertainment. This is like the headline of our show. Four guys who have no clue about No, it is uh entertainment in the form of speculation about golf. Welcome to the Dance Golf World Show. The things we don’t know said confidently. Oh yeah. Just let it let it roll like we mean it. Um here’s the other thing I like. You know, you can always guarantee when we’re getting close to the FedEx Cup, money is flying. Money is flying everywhere. You’re getting your whatever top finisher for playing good in the PGA Tour. Lump of money. You’re getting your Comcast highspeed internet lump of money. And then, of course, these things got big old purses. They’re paying out 3.6 million this week. These dudes are cashing checks. I mean, money season. Um, I don’t know. I I maybe this kind of helps them heal the wounds from not joining Liv for all these guys who got the big checks. They’re finally getting it. Maybe makes things a little better. I don’t know. Still the purse on live if you win is still more than this. Yeah, it’s true. So much the team purse on this was more than this. I think the aces this week who took fourth each guy took home 120 125 grand each. Like I wonder if there was a betting line on uh cuz you know there’s always like a betting line on will it will there be a playoff or not. Well the parlay of a playoff on the PGA Tour event and live event and the live teams and the live teams. I there could have been some money to be made there. I don’t know if that that existed in any of the apps. I don’t know. Shane Lowry who had who was 59th this week he only took home 44 grand. I mean only but still like you know we’re talking these big numbers you know like we talk big numbers and that sounds so small but like a 44k check like you know what I mean to me that’s huge I mean for me that is that is just substantial make that three of us four days of play 44 grand here you go yeah you know whiz around the proam have a nice time head back to player dining you know get your fresh pair of brand new shoes for the round out of your locker that somebody who you don’t even know put in there for you. And all for your time, a nice little $44,000 check. And in the in the entire scheme of things look small. Insane. That is wild. What guy did you hear that uh Seth Draa’s withdrawn this week? I did. Um, so there’s some, we don’t know exactly why he’s got to tend to some family issues and he’s asked for privacy uh during this time while he deals with whatever that may be, but he will be back in time to make sure he has his opportunity to win that $20 million uh FedEx Cup, which is good. You know, you don’t, you know, it’s just nice when you can get stuff taken care of in time to get your FedEx Cup chances there up front. I always think it’s so weird when pro athletes or celebrities ask for privacy during a certain period of time because here’s why. This is why I think it’s so weird. Go on. Because they have they probably live in a secluded area anyways and if they’re not going to leave the house or anything like it’s easy to ignore, you know, social media messages, you know, it’s not like you’re getting text messages. Yeah. Throw it on a focus mode and you’re fine. So, I don’t get why everyone when something happens like I want to this is just a private thing like you know don’t contact me like I feel like that’s just like dude like if people really care about you they’re going to text you saying hey I’m here what for whatever not I not a fan of the well especially when it’s a part of like a um like a press release. Yeah. So, I’m announcing to all of the media that I don’t want to talk about this like I I don’t know. Good. Rich, what do you got? Devil’s advocate could be that when he does the presser when he when he because he’s not playing the BMW. So, where are they going next week? Um uh the following week they’ll be at East Lake for the tour championship after the BMW. So, so when he’s at East Lake, is he just like prefacing he doesn’t want a hundred questions from every single media guy. Where were you last week? What’s going on? Why was the family matter? What was the family matter? Like, he’s just, “Come on, leave me alone, guys.” Yeah. Can we um can we see, you know, I don’t know, like a formal letter from someone’s doctor or like whatever took place. We don’t know. I mean, Tiger did the privacy thing a few months ago, if you remember when he announced his new girlfriend. He’s like, “Oh, I’m announcing this, but we want our privacy.” Here’s a crazy announcement that I don’t want to talk about. Yeah. Yeah. But here’s pictures and everything. Yeah. I just don’t get it, man. Do we have any So, from four guys who don’t know anything at all, should we all guess what Sea is dealing with? Absolutely. With confidence. Um, here’s what I think. I think his dog got into the trash. Probably ate some it shouldn’t have. It’s a little stopped up. You know what I mean? Uh, I think he’s just scared. He’s got worms. Who knows? Got worms. He’s got to take care of Taffy or whatever his dog’s name is. He’ll be back for the RDER Cup, though, and the Tour Championship. He’ll get breaks in between there. No questions, though. Yeah. Yeah. Don’t talk to me about it. I think it might be a bad haircut. Bad haircut. Again, a lot happened. Uh, the cut didn’t go as planned. It’s personal and I don’t want to talk about it. Leave me alone. Rory played straight through the bad haircut. I mean, come on. He did. You know what? He even did media after that bad haircut, too. You, which is proof that no matter what’s going on in life, you can show up and do some media and play some golf. If Rory can play with that haircut, anyone can show up and do their job. What’s with the hair? What’s with the hair? Uh, also we saw um another person not in the mix. Scotty Sheffler was out there with um not the old Ted Scott this week. No, with the new caddy. Yeah, I’ll look a sub in. Uh do we have his name of the the caddy he had with him? I was reading about his story, but I didn’t jot down his name. Uh but I find it very interesting. This is the same caddy he used during the PJ championship the day he was arrested that uh he came back to the course was a little bit late. Ted Scott was out of town and he had a fill-in caddy. Um the guy he’s not regularly a caddy. Do you got his name? Brad Payne. Brad Payne. Thank you so much. Uh but he does work for the tour and he travels with the tour. Do any of you guys know what his regular job is? No. Rich, do you want to make a confident speculation like you know exactly what you’re talking about? We’re really good at that here. Uh yeah, I actually heard that uh he’s a member the head member of the catering team. Uh he’s the tour chaplain. Oh, what’s that? Oh jeez. Yeah. Like he he like he says um like you know if you need like you they do like a like a weekly service or like something like that or he does a lot of like player counseling. I guess it’s sort of that’s why Scotty picked him. Yeah, of course. You know, God’s like, I need to get right with God. Can you go help me out? So, we got to see him back and it was nice to have him there on a day where Scotty wasn’t even arrested. I thought that was a good thing. As of right now, Ted Scott’s not in for BMW. Ted Scott’s out. Yeah. Again, he also said that he’s tending to some personal family issues and yeah, he does not have a scheduled return date. He didn’t say about privacy. I was about to say, does he want privacy or no? Um, I’m positive he said it, but will he get some? No, not for us. Allowed to go knock on his door. Hey, Teddy. Come on. Knock on your door. What are you doing? Uh, we need you to make some more Tik Tok dances. All right. Well, we uh talked about it there momentarily, but there was action going on in Live Golf cuz they’re in town here, not too far. They call it Live Golf Chicago. It’s not exactly in Chicago, but you know, it’s closer than you think. It is. Well, listen, it’s closer than the Chicago Land Motor Speedway, which is not in Chicago. So, yeah, why not? Uh, but it came down to it. We had a couple uh a couple guys duking it out there all the way to the finish. Went to a playoff, not only the individual playoff, but it was also a team playoff. So, there was like all these playoffs going on simultaneously. Um, uh, what do we call the guy? Um, Jose Louie and Ray Creek. He was the runner up. Pee and Creek. Yeah, Joseé Louie. Peing Creek. Ballister. Yes, that’s it. I knew he had a good nickname for him that we’ll screw up every time. Here’s what I’ll tell you. He didn’t get it done. But what I find interesting about this guy before we get into Dean Burmeister and talk about his great victory this week is we got ourselves a guy who was an amateur. Never went over and did the whole PGA Tour thing or DP World Tour thing or anything like that. He came straight fresh out of college, came over, joined Liv, and is now playing well. How was he able to play in a masters again? Um, he was there as an amateur, so he did stuff. Um, so not only is he playing well, but he just got a check for $1.8 million, like fresh out of college. What would you do fresh out of college? Well, here’s what I would do. I would call up Shane Lowry and laugh at him for his $44,000 check this week. Yeah. 22 years old. Wild crazy, dude. I do not want to know what like I don’t even want that in my possession when I’m 22. I’m afraid I’m just I’m 23 and I want it. I’m just going to put I’m fine with I’m not with Josh on that. I’m with Josh on that. Josh, I’m just trying to imagine the the addition on your house you’d have to put to fill with like Pokemon cards and collectibles. 1.8 million. Dude, I’m in a comic thing now. Yo, all comic books. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Is there a particular one or uh Marvel Epic Collection? No. No. Do you like Are there still new ones coming out? Like there’s still monthly comics coming out depending on who’s got a series going on right now. Like there’s probably like a 100 comics that come out every month. Are they in like seasons? Like we’re in like season 7,000 of Spider-Man. It’s not more so seasons. It’s almost like story arcs now where it’s like you have this month-long or uh not monthlong cuz it’s once a month but like a year-long story that will go throughout the whole universe now. Do you know when it’s ending like this is the se series or the story finale? Yeah, it it will say it would be advertised as like this is the the ender of this story. How will it end? That’s the collector’s item. Not really. I don’t know anything about that confidently though. You see that? That’s the one you’re going to want guys. The only comics that are worth money nowadays are all the old original ones when they have the first appearances of like heroes. Nice. Yeah. Um, moving on. Dean Burmeister. Burmy. Well, before you move on, Dan, you also got to remember ahead. Internet’s That’s our internet’s kind of a little jumbly, but uh I was going to say you also got to remember that uh things like uh Walking Dead, that was a comic. Yes. Oh. Like did were people collecting it and going to like Walking Dead comic book? Walking Dead first issue Walking Dead sold for a lot of money. I don’t know exactly before the show. Uh or after the show? Both. Like once everybody fell in love with uh whatever that guy was some of the Reus Rick Rick. Yeah. Rick Grimes. Well, I mean it was so popular that they made a TV show out of it, right? So yeah, that and uh Invincible too. Uh that’s uh Amazon Prime. It’s a cartoon. Wasn’t that a You mean the Incredibles? Thank you. That was also a magazine. No, it wasn’t. Told you. A magazine. Magazine. Book, whatever it’s called. Aren’t these magazines? Oh my god, guys. So, golf. Yeah, that’s what the show’s about. Occasionally, every once in a while, we try and bring up golf. Uh, if there was a golf comic book, though, I tell you, I could maybe get into There’s a golf anime which which which okay do it for me. Anime is from manga which is Japanese comics. Nice. Oh cool. Uh Jesus. Uh Dean Burmeister. Are we ready? Yeah. We’re ready. Yeah, we’ve been ready. Dan. Uh what’s his nickname? He goes by uh Burmy. Burmy. Or the mean Dean. Or the mean Dean. Mean Dean. Everyone’s calling him the mean Dean. Yeah. Here’s what I did know about this guy. He’s from Zimbabwe. I didn’t know that. I Where where is Zimbabwe? Uh it’s just outside Indianapolis. Said confidently. It’s like somewhere in Africa that’s not South Africa. That’s all I can tell you. North of South Africa. 45 minutes outside Louisville. Uh yeah. So I I find this interesting. uh turned pro back in 2010, but where he really got his start was down there on the Sunshine Tour. Rich, are you following a lot of the Sunshine Tour action going on? Yeah, let me tell you, not at all. Oh, okay. Well, in case you’re wondering, Sunshine Tour, it’s the top pro golf tour in Southern Africa. Uh based mostly in Southern Africa, but they do have some events that cruise around and go elsewhere. Um but here’s the I think kind of the fun part. It was the proving ground for such players as Ernie Ell’s, Charles Schwarzel, Lousie Uasin. That’s a tough one to read. It’s easier to say, you know. Um, but yeah, he actually had himself quite a few wins. He had 11 wins on the Sunshine Tour that eventually helped him make his way into the DP World Tour. Had a couple wins there. found himself um playing on the big stage, playing in some of the majors, and then in 2023 got the call to join Liv and he said, “Hell yes.” And since then has continued to do well. He took wins at Live Golf the 2024 Miami and again now here 2025 Chicago and landed himself a $4 million payday right here. Huge. Huge. third longest driver on live behind uh Walkin and Bryson. Third longest. Third longest. Yeah. Wow. I didn’t know that he was the He was the old longstrong. Yeah, I didn’t either until Sunday, but I know now. Um All right. You were out there marching around Sunday in the heat. I was. Who were some of the swings that were just the most impressive to you to watch? Yeah, I mean Bryson, of course. I mean, seeing him off the tea anytime you see it, it’s insane. But I will say the Bryson collapse was also crazy to watch when you see bogey double bogey. Were you with him through that? Yes. Oh yeah. That that was when we left him and we’re like, you know, let’s go see what Phil’s doing over there. I don’t know. We’ll see what Phil’s doing. That was literally what we did. We’re like, we’ll go talk to Phil for a couple holes. I wonder if like he feels that energy let out. Like I’m sure you weren’t the only person who who left the crowd like where he like is playing, people are talking, doing the whole thing, has a couple bad holes, and there’s like 45% less people here now. No, you could tell. I mean, cuz we could see cuz we just went one hole above a hole ahead and then we look back, we’re like, “Wow, that’s a lot more dead than it was when he was T T1 two holes ago.” And wow, he falls all the way to T10. But I will say underrated Carlos Ortiz from Torque. He was really really good. He ended up finishing like three, I think, or four on the day. I underrated, I would say. So that’s fair. Okay. I feel like I don’t hear a ton about him having this beautiful swing, but out there it looked good. Looked good on Sunday. There is something about Bryson smashing the ball. Like when you’re there and you’re live, you can almost like feel the concussion from the impact. It’s just like dude, like it’s it’s unbelievable. And then marches down the fair. He also takes forever on every shot. Dude, the amount of storage we wasted on that iPhone or just him getting ready for the shot is insane. Doing math. Yeah. Do you hear they uh they actually had to write a rule that back in the PJ tour years ago? He was using a compass with in his yardage book to like draw circles and get like exact yardage numbers and things. And at the time there wasn’t a rule against it, but there is now. There’s the I don’t know what they call it, but the rule the Bryson compass rule. You can’t use measuring handheld measuring tool devices in your yardage book. Now, what’s the reason for that? Like what’s the like the insane advantage from that? I don’t know if like, you know, whatever. If it’s extended to 4 in on the book, that means my eight iron goes perfectly there. I have no idea. Interesting. Well, I mean, no, it kind of makes sense because if you have the arc, you know, your shot’s going to go 112 yards. So, if you put the arc on it and you know it’s going to go 112. Okay, so it’s going to hit the sand trap over here. It’ll be on the green over here. It’ll be in the water over here. So, you can kind of see the arc of where you’ll be at. And you just change like every club is just a little different setting. And then you can keep doing the move and yeah. Well, yeah. I mean, you you set it to 112 yards. You know that 3 in 112 yards is going to get me to here. You know, the cup’s there. I make sense. Rule it out. Get it out of here. Get your math out of here. This is nerdy golf. That’s what Bryson does. Yep. I I I do think though there’s some like something special about the people that that rules are made because of like I like to me thinking that far outside of the box. You brought something that in golf’s 500y year history nobody thought to say don’t do that. Like you literally thought of something nobody else has. Yeah. They did it in NASCAR too. A guy was using a compass cuz this track is circle. He was wall riding and he ended up winning the race. Oh yeah. There’s got to be a golf version of that. Like all right lay down the bag and then put your club head cover and then jam the ball around it. I don’t I mean, this is kind of out of order, but uh I was talking with Andy Marorrow. He’s uh Thomas Peters Caddy. Yes. And we were talking about using the the rangefinders. Yeah. And it was fun talking to him about it cuz he was 100% against it. He’s like, “This is going to be terrible. It’s going to take a lot out of the game.” And now that he’s actually been using it, he says that it’s absolutely awesome. A lot of the things that he thought was going to take away from it cuz you knew the exact yardage, it doesn’t. He’s like, cuz we can always figure out what the exact yards are anyways. So now it just speeds that whole process up and just makes the game go faster, which I totally agree with. I mean, because usually they’re looking around for that sprinkler head. Is it before me? Is behind me? Marching off those steps, coming back to land on the same number. Like, you know what I mean? It’s I what we’re going to be like a foot off maybe, you know, from that. Yeah. I I think we’re going to be sitting here complaining about pace of play, the speed of the game, and yet we got to be out here like foot marching off yardage. Like, yeah, but you got to hurry up. Okay, do it faster. Yeah, walk faster. Yeah, march it off faster. There was a video of uh Nelly Corder was actually doing that exact process at a tournament and I saw it was on Instagram and someone’s like, “What on earth is she doing? Like, why is she walking away from her ball and coming back like whatever?” And you saw all the comments. People are explaining the process. But it is interesting that to some casual fans, they don’t realize that that process is taking place and they’re complaining about pace of play and you know maybe disagreeing with certain rule changes. But it is interesting to hear that somebody who’s that deep inside of it a caddy agrees that it is a good thing. I think that’s a seal of approval. I stick with rangefinders done. Also agreed um I he might be coming on the show. We exchanged contact info and we’re trying to work out a time. Could be great. Well, Rich Adam Marorrow. Uh, yes. Oh, that would be awesome, dude. He was such a nice guy. Rich, when did you get to meet him? Why don’t you go ahead and tell us? Well, since we’re talking about that, I mean, we’re talking about the whole Chicago Live event. We’re talking about who won, who didn’t win. Let’s talk about the important reason that we’re all talking about Liv this week. The Chicago ProAm. The Chicago ProAm. So, we have something for Rich. We do. We do. We’ll be there shortly. Uh, so really interesting opportunity came um last Tuesday. The show’s recorded on Tuesdays, gets posted on Thursdays. Uh, the ProAm was on Thursday. So, two days before the event, the day of the show, I got an email response. It says, “Dan, we’d love to have you come out and join the ProAm.” At that time, I didn’t know who I’d be playing with, what time, anything. Shortly after the show, I got a welcome email that said, uh, the four aces would like to welcome you to their team at the ProAm. I’m like, okay, well, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, you know, I don’t know. I’m not sure who I’m going to be playing with. And then shortly after that, I went through and I had to like register and do all this stuff. I saw that I would be paired with Thomas Peter and Dustin Johnson. Uh, front half, the front nine was going to be with Thomas and the back nine with Dustin. And uh I said, “Boys, I let’s all go. We got to do this together.” Like, I mean, come on. I’m I don’t know what I’m doing out here. I need a little backup. So, the whole gang, all of us packed up and rolled out. Rich, um I don’t know if he was lied to. I don’t know if it was completely my fault. Uh which it could be. But I was like, “Rich, it says here, do you have a caddy?” Um and I was like, “Rich, do you want to be my caddy?” And he was like, “Yeah, like what do I do?” I’m like, “I don’t know. Like, is there going to be carts?” I’m like, “Probably.” Like, “Why wouldn’t there be?” He’s just live golf. There’ll definitely be cards. Don’t got to worry about it. Sure, no problem. I’m totally in for it. Put Rich in as my caddy. And uh we get there and pretty quickly we realize, no, there’s no carts. There’s not going to be a single cart. So Rich has to lug my giant, beautiful vessel golf bag filled with my wonderfully built Cobra golf clubs around the golf course for 18 holes. Fortunately enough, we brought enough of a team where after nine holes, Rich did get to hand off the bag. Um, Rich, this is a little gift to you, but do we want to roll it? Maybe a couple highlights from uh Rich’s moments uh out there on the course, first time Caddy experience, which I thought Rich, by the way, you did a fantastic job. But let’s roll the tape. Apparently, I’m catting for Dan today, but uh I have no clue what to do. I’ve actually never golfed with a Caddy before, so I literally don’t know what to do other than carry the clubs. I’ve been here for 10 minutes. Already had to find a backup caddy. There’s no way I’m doing this whole thing. How does she fit? Like latex. You guys have a great day. I mean, whole two is brutal for sure. It’s hot, but you know, we only got 16 more to go. So far so good. Don’t need to tap in yet. There he is. All right, hole nine. Hey, we’ll try to get pass it off to Jeremy. We’ll try to get you a little It’s actually Jeremiah, not Jeremy. That’s how tired I am. Got to check in. It’s a rough one today. Um, look at that smile. Can we all agree that it was hot? Oh my goodness. It was hot and humid. Hot and humid. And somehow, even though there’s not there’s literally like two trees on the entire property, zero shade. There like wasn’t enough breeze. No. It was very depleting. I don’t know about you guys, I was quite depleted. Just look at the difference between us in the two pictures. I mean, you could tell that the different angles are, but look how pale we look in the first one. Yeah, we look like we’ve been outside for two years at that point. Unbelievable. Um, and I swear I don’t think there was a cloud in the sky all day. That sun was just piping down the entire time. Look at DJ’s tan, dude. He’s been outside his entire life. He was born outside. I mean, look at that. Can we talk about how cool and just down to earth DJ was? You know what he so is? It’s crazy. Like he was It literally just felt like, you know, you got paired up with a random at a at the local MUN and this dude just happens to be one of the best golfers in the entire world. But he was just as cool as any dude. He was fun. You could talk to him, ask questions, hang out. Uh here’s what I will tell you. Um there was there was a few moments in in the day that you know I’m not going to say I was super nervous but I was like some nervous you know probably a lot. Uh was the first te the first hole stepping up hitting the first ball of the day uh that we had Thomas Peter with us for the first hole and all you want to do is you the first you just want to hit a good one off the first T. It’s the first everything you know I’ve done it all. I’ve practiced. I got a good warmup in. I rested the day before. you know, these guys play every single day of their life. I for me, I’ve got to structure it out for like a month. Um, hit a good one off the first tee. The first relief just like, oh, okay, we’re rocking. We’re rolling. And And that being said, remember Thomas, he took a lunch ball. He did. He did. Uh, and I didn’t need one. I was I was I was happy about that because Thomas also said, “Nice drive as soon as you hit it.” Yes. And then we were up looking for our balls and we kind of couldn’t find mine. And then his caddy uh he was like he’s like no man. He’s like you smashed it. You’re up that way. And I was like yeah cuz there’s nothing worse than when you’re looking for your ball and they’re like no you’re way back here. It’s it’s it’s nowhere where you thought it was. It’s way back here. Adam’s like it’s way up there. Way up there. That felt great. Uh second most sort of nerve-wracking moment was the the repeat version of that when we get to 10. It’s now the first drive in front of DJ. Again, we just met, I mean, somebody I’ve looked up to in the golf world for a very long time. Um, one of the greatest golfers of all time, quite quite factually, multiple major winner, green jacket wearer. Um, you know, you want to hit one more good one, just step up, feel good about it. And I I was like, listen, golf gods, if you can hear me right now, I mean, I don’t ask for much, and you could tell, look at my golf game. But I’m asking for one right now. just sprinkle me down a little golf blessing and let me smoke a good one right here off the tenth D. And I did. And I got the Oh, good ball. I was like, did DJ just tell me from DJ? Yeah. I No cooler feeling on the planet. Can’t beat that. You cannot beat that. And then we make our way down. We’re playing our shots. We get all the way up. I hit a decent one. I’m on the green. I don’t know. Like a kind of an eight-footerish. and DJ special birdie DJ takes his putt and picks up his ball and comes over and walks right behind me and starts helping me read my putt. And on one hand I’m trying to be cool, calm, collect. On the other hand, I’m like, “Holy [ __ ] Dustin Johnson’s helping me read my putt right now.” And he’s like, “Yeah, I shouldn’t do much. Maybe a little this right side or I forgot whatever he said, whatever.” And then he stands behind me to like see me do it. And I remember standing over the ball. I wasn’t thinking about the putt. I wasn’t thinking about pace, distance, break. I wasn’t thinking about I was literally holding my putter going, “Oh my god, Dustin Johnson’s watching me do this putt. Hurry up and do it. You’ve been standing here too long.” Like, this is what’s going through my head. Nothing else. Not like, “Okay, here’s kind of the pace I want to do. Like, whatever.” Just whatever normal swing thoughts you had. Zero. I had none of them. And I hit a putt. kind of hit the edge of the cup and lipped out. I think I hit a little hard. Whatever. For the record, you stepped up and hit it quick, too. I was panicking so fast, dude. I I had no sense of reality at that point. I for me, I felt like I was standing over the ball for a month. I had no clue what was going on. All of time is slowing down. Like every heartbeat. And I I hit the putt and I was like, “Ah, I think I jammed that one a little hard.” And he was just like, “Yep.” Yeah. Yeah, I did. It’s fine. Wow. I you talk about like the pressure that they are comfortable with versus like the pressure that none of us are even remotely used to. It’s it’s it’s just not even the same planet. But man, was it cool. All right, guys. You guys out there running cameras. Any highlight moments, takeaways from you guys? Um, I don’t know if I have a one direct highlight. One just completely random moment that I think we need to talk about is we’re like what, hole 15? I think we get off the 15th green. turned the corner then Andrew Santino’s just standing there on the tea box with a super randomly whole camera crew. All of a sudden a video just starts and now we’re in a Santino golf video randomly and like we’re not invited to be a part of it but I promise we’re in the background of a bunch of and like and all of a sudden like DJ walks over, starts untucking his shirt, gets all miked up and like puts the mic pack in and does everything and they’re like shooting intros and like was this planned? We didn’t know about it at all going in. And then we’re like, are we still like playing? Like, do you want us to sit out? Like, I don’t know what’s going on. At this point, I’m like so hot. We’ve been out here for like 11 hours. I’m like, I don’t even know what’s going on. Should we leave? Yeah, it’s fine. Like, if you want us to leave, it’s fine. So, my favorite moments, one of them was uh just the fact that we’ve done a some cool stuff as a group, as a show. Like, we’ve been to Bunker Hill all exclusive uh resort. We’ve done You You’ve gone a whole bunch of places. is you’ve been to every major. Uh but this was I think this was the coolest thing. Oh yeah. That we’ve done because it’s not one where uh you’re playing with pros. We’re all enjoying it. And it’s not like these guys are ignoring any one of us either. No. Like we go up like I asked DJ, he was hitting a 9inewood. I’m like DJ, let me get a picture of that thing. I’ve never seen a ninewood in my life. He goes and Austin he’s Yeah, his caddy. He goes hold on. He wipes it down. goes here. I’m like, “Oh, okay.” They started. And then uh after Did you smell it or anything weird? Just curious. And then right after when we were done when we all got we’re in the uh ProAm dining, just the looks on our faces of just death. Oh, I I love it. Like I’m like I’m I’m beat. You look like you like were crying for 20 minutes. your eyes went like you like like every like bit of like hairspray and sweat and salt from like my hat was just like running into my eyeballs. My eyes were just destroyed. Like it was crazy. It the amount of sunburn. Everyone got bad sunburn from um You know what? Here’s the thing. My my somehow the the skin outside of golf clothes like doesn’t burn. I I but anything beyond that like if my sleeve rides up a quarter of an inch, I will have severe like thirdderee burns. But from kind of space there to there kind of here I do. Okay. I’m not a big sunscreen guy. It’s kind of wild. Got a little on my nose. Little bit. See if I could get some here. See if I can get some. Are you peeling off a little snack off your neck there? I’m peeling I’m peeling bad. Nice. Cuz I had the long hair. Um what was the the uh It’s gone. Screwed me. Austin Powers movie. The dude was peeling off the skin. Anybody disguise? No, that was uh Goldfinger. Yeah. Gold member. Goldfinger. Gold member. Gold member. Gold finger. Goldfinger. Gold member. Go figure. Yeah. Wow. I just I quoted a movie that you haven’t seen. Yeah, I know. The only Austin Powers movie I’ve seen is the uh The Master Disguise. That’s a fail. Yeah. Uh Rich, any big takeaways moments, please? I had like kind of three different kind of kind of takeaways. one was kind of the the Adam Marorrow Thomas’ caddy. Yeah. Um that that whole the whole talk about the the the uh the the rangefinder. I thought that was that was a really cool conversation with him. Um just a really cool down toear guy. Looking forward to have him on the show and then we can say he’s a friend of the show. That’d be really cool. Can’t wait. Uh then I had uh there was a kind of a cool there was a cool moment with Dustin Johnson where like we were kind we on the back nine somewhere and uh he was teeing off waiting for the amateurs to all to all take your shots. I was beat. So I was kind of straggling behind a little bit. And he’s over there just kind of like squatted down facetiming. And I could tell it was his his kids or his wife or something like that, you know. And so as we’re walking down to uh hit the drive, I’m like FaceTime with the kids. He’s like, “No, it was actually my wife. Uh they’re all down there, but uh my brother-in-law’s there. He’s got his there. And my sister-in-law is down there as well. They’ve got their three kids and everything.” And I was like, “Oh, that’s cool.” Like, “Do you got any kids?” He’s like, “Yeah, you know, I got two kids. They’re eight and 12, both boys. All the rest of them are girls, so we’re the only boys in there.” And, you know, I mean, it was just like a real life conversation that you would have with just anybody. And it’s like Dustin Johnson. It’s like, “Holy cow.” You know, it was just kind of a a really cool moment. Yeah. And it’s it’s then like kind of the conversation at one point kind of was like, “Oh, how many kids do you have?” And this and that. It’s like again like just normal regular just like again somebody you got paired with at a regular golf course where you just talk and get to know each other and ask questions and you know hey good shot and and another one of the cool things I met meanwhile he’s talking about Paulina Gretzky like just you know in case anyone forgot another cool moment too. So, um, with with Dustin Johnson, he has, well, his caddy is Austin Johnson, his brother, which that’s cool. I think he’s been there since like, uh, 2014 or 2016, something like that. He’s been cattying for so for a good bit of time. It was awesome watching his brother like his brother goes and does aim point for him and then he turns around and tells him for the putt, be like, “Okay, so here’s what I’m reading. This, this, this.” And then Dustin just goes and hits it. Um, and then there was one time and it was early. It was probably hole like it would have been nine. It would have been like 10 or I think it was hole 11. And uh Dustin goes and he putts it and there was a third guy there. His name was uh Claude Harmon. Claude, he was really cool. I walked and talked with him for a lot of holes. We talked about a lot of stuff. Um, but it was so much fun cuz like he hit the ball and Dustin missed it. He lipped it out and when he missed it, they all three of them talked about why he missed it really quickly. And I would guess most of the amateurs didn’t even notice that they even mentioned it. But he’s like, “Hey, did I misread that or did I just pull that putt?” And both Austin and Claude said, “No, I think we misread it. I think it broke a little bit here.” You know? Um, and they were both like, “Okay, cool.” Didn’t talk about it again and just like moved on, you know? It was like one of those things that’s like so like key when you’re looking getting to see behind the curtain of how the professionals actually miss a putt and and learn from that experience. But it it’s you know so many times I think you know with normal golfers, amateur golfers like you get defensive and you want to like well no this you know you can blame stuff and whatever but like they get to look at it so objectively like okay what happened here? You know what just talk about it as it is factually? Cool. Got it. Uh the kind of the fun thing was though, uh Claude Harmon, obviously son of Butch Harmon, you know, one of the greatest swing coaches of all time. And now Claude is one of the greatest swing coaches of all time. Uh I got a chance to meet him on the Cobra Tour truck at the Masters and it was the tournament was already underway. Um and so he was kind of hanging in there. Didn’t have much to do because he’s not following players on the course. Wow. Holy crap. I don’t know if you heard that. It’s a thunderstorm. You probably saw the lightning. There was a huge light that came in. Take cover. We still got power. Uh I got a chance to meet him at the Masters. Super cool guy. And it was during a tournament round. So he’s not out following players around. So we’re all hanging out in the Cobra truck. And I mean literally just like killing time, hanging out, having fun. We’re like showing each other like dumb videos on the internet that are like going up from the week and the Masters and whatever. It just like had this total fun time. And that was when I first met Claude and and you know we got you know to know each other a little bit and became friends. And so here we are walking on the course. I look over and I’m like wait that’s Claude’s with DJ. We just met a couple men months back at the Masters. And as we’re going down the fair I was like Claude Dan we met on the coach. He’s like you know dude whatever. And uh so it was just it’s kind of fun Josh as you were talking about like these cool events and opportunities we get to be a part of. and now that they’re like starting to connect and it was like, “Oh, you were from that one and this one and that one.” And it’s um it’s just it’s so fun because these are all guys that I’ve looked up to, that I’ve studied, that I’ve followed. I mean, I cannot tell you how many swing videos of Dustin Johnson I’ve edited over the years and making Tik Toks and stuff more than Tommy. Um I think so. Wow. Yeah. Uh because Dustin Johnson is just such an incredibly unique golf swing and like the thing he does with the bow wrist and his flexibility and like getting it to the top and like it’s just it’s so cool. I find it fascinating. Um I don’t know. So just these moments and they’re so surreal and they’re so cool and so interesting and it’s like here’s us idiots like we’re allowed to be out there. They give us badges. We’re not going to be kicked out. Like this is it’s just so cool. I mean, we can stand 5t behind him as he’s taking a golf call. Like, it’s unreal. And then like we’re allowed to talk to him about it after and not like Didn’t Thomas uh ask you like, “Do you guys like give grief to players?” Uh yeah, he did. He He asked me, he was like, “So, you know, he was asking about the show and kind of what the vibe of the show is.” He’s like, you know, he’s like, “Me and uh you know, Caddyy, we both love golf shows.” He’s like, “So, what about you guys? Like, do you do you like, you know, give grief to players? Do you pick on guys? Do you I’m like we try to be respectfully honest about anybody we can and you know we don’t we try not to cross any lines that are too extreme, but we’re also not afraid to point it out if it if it’s worth talking about. He goes, “That’s fair.” He’s like, “I like that.” And uh it was funny. He also asked, you know, he’s like, “What’s your take on Liv?” And you know, we talked about that and and I said, “You know, I was at I was at the very first United States Liv golf tournament in and just outside Portland, Oregon.” Like from that early on, I wanted to go see what this thing was about. I bought my ticket. I wasn’t even invited. I just like bought a day ticket and I went. Um, and I said, you know, it was just fun. It was fun getting to talk about that stuff and kind of getting to be around this sphere of golf long enough where it’s like, you know, Liv is pretty well established at this point, but it’s like, you know, we’ve been interested in this since it began and and here we still are. And man, was it cool. So, I mean, highlight absolute highlight of of my golf I I’m not going to call it a golf career because this isn’t a golf career, but golf commentating career, maybe. I don’t know. Golf media career. Golf media career. This was without a doubt a massive highlight. One thing I I had to mention and a story about DJ. So, we were on I think it was maybe like the 13th or 14th hole and there’s obviously the houses on the left side there and there’s groups of people watching and whatnot. So DJ lines up for a shot and he slices one his worst shot of the day. Way right and he goes, “Yeah, it’s the worst shot I’ve had in years or something.” He says something like that. And then right after that shot, takes his glove off and gives it to his caddy and then walks over to the backyard with all the people there. Starts taking pictures, says hi to everybody. It’s like he hit his worst shot of the day and he was still able to go talk to the fans, which he doesn’t have to do that. He can just keep going like play the next They were asking us for stuff. Yeah. I don’t know what they’re They’re like, “You guys want beer? We got cold beer.” We could have been so famous if we went over there. They’re just like, “Who are you guys with? Doesn’t matter. How are you?” I’m with I’m with Dustin. Signing the baby’s forehead. So, I’ve got something kind of to add on, which I don’t think I had a chance to talk to you guys about, but do you guys remember that right at that time when he went over there, there was another guy that kind of came over and was talking to Dustin and Claude and stuff like that? I think so. So, it was just another guy that was over there. Well, I was chatting up Claude a lot. Like we walked probably four or five holes just talking about all kinds of stuff. Talking about like do you think love and live and PGA will ever marry up and figure it out? His response is well as soon as PGA decides they want to it’ll happen. You know interesting which so smart right then I I asked him well I know they just with the uh the world the world golf rankings. Do you think I know they just resubmitted for that do you think that’s going to happen? He’s like well just like the other if they decide they want to make it happen it’ll happen. You know, what a good point, right? Well, so then we’re kind of talking, whatever, and when DJ goes over to talk to those guys, that other guy, uh, he he’s a little he was shorter than DJ. DJ’s huge, right? Um, so he goes walking over with him and talking and I’m talking with Claude about something. I’m just random again. And he’s like, you know what’s pretty cool about Liv? It’s not every day you see some you see somebody like that come over and start talking to your players and just be just be out on on the proam. And turns out that was Scott O’Neal. No way. Yes. I totally missed that. So Scott O’Neal, he he walked like three holes with us just talking with Dustin. Just No idea. Wow. Yes. It was too hot. If you wouldn’t have been told that, none of us would have known. It was too hot. No way. Yep. What a huge miss. I mean, huge miss, but I mean, it was just I just you like a huge thing that I missed. And not that there was a miss, just like what a huge like I can’t believe I I didn’t even didn’t even catch that. Wow. But I mean, the the point that Claude was making is how cool is it that the new CEO is out on a proam in Chicago t walking three holes with with Dustin Johnson, you know? I mean, that’s one of his star players, of course, but he’s just wanting to get the feel of everything, see how the players like it, see what they like. And he and they weren’t talking about super crazy stuff cuz I was, like I said, I was hanging out with Claude most of the day and so I could kind of hear half the conversations that were going on and it was just kind of normal stuff. He was just being a a normal regular cool dude, which seemed to be the theme, regular cool dudes. Yep. And I, you know, maybe we lucked out and we just happened to be kind of put with the coolest guys out there, but I just the whole time I was just like I I can’t believe it. You know, just how fun, how cool, conversational, great time all the way around. Highlight, one of the highlights, we were in the player dining room after the event like Josh was talking about and uh there was this thing called the green room after which we were invited to. At this point, I was so hot and tired. I drank like 15 bottles of water. had yet to even use a restroom because I was just sweating everything out. And uh Dustin was on his way to this thing called the green room and he’s in player dining and he’s like got his elbow up on the bar and they’re like like, “Hey DJ, we need you in here.” And he was like, “Hang on, I’m trying to get a drink. Just leave me alone. Just I’m trying to get a cocktail. Leave me alone.” Like that’s our guy. That’s my teammate right there. He’s my teammate. I love the little video they sent you. Oh, dude. It’s so great. So great. Also, how about uh on hole one when you know because it’s so nice the the pros go and introduce themselves, have to shake everybody’s hand, you know, things like that. And you know, Thomas is he’s a really tall guy. Skinny skinny though. And uh when he went and shook my hand, like his hands didn’t look that big or anything until I actually shook his hand. and his hand just enveloped my hand and was one of the strongest hands that I’ve shook in a long time. He made you feel like a little kid. Oh my goodness. I was just like, “Holy cow. Nice to meet you, Mr. Peter.” As a guy’s my age. Well, let me tell you this and and I I should have talked about this earlier in this segment, but here were some of the highlights for getting to be a participant in the proam. Go on. You pull up, there’s valet right off the bat. I love that. You pull up, they’re helping you get your clubs out. Soon as they take your clubs, you give them your name, whatever. You’re already checked in. They’re putting your name on your bag, giving you this cool live golf bag tag. Your bag’s gone. You don’t have to see it again. It’s It’s off to where it needs to be. You get checked in. You get your lanyard to get your stuff. And you get your first gift bag in there. Super sick club head cover, towel, all kinds of stuff. You walk around the corner for your next gift, an aura ring, which I’ve seen like a million videos for. I’ve never had one. I’ve got one now. Uh they’re like, “Here, come on over here. Like, you trying all these rings to fit your size, pick your color, whatever. Here’s your aura ring.” I was like, “Oh, nice.” And they’re like, “Okay, we’re going to head this way.” And then we stop again for your next gift. there’s an entire table set up for Noble and they had all of the Noble golf shoes. Um they’re like, “Yeah, uh take a look at all these. Anyone you like, here’s your coupon code, go online, pick out your pair, free pair of golf shoes that’ll be sent right to your door.” And then you make your way on in and you head down and there’s proam player dining. And to get there, you walk through the regular player dining. So, as I’m going through, I was like, “Oh, hey, look. There’s Bubba Watson. There’s Walk Me Neman. There’s Phil Mickelson.” Like, they’re all in here right now just hanging out having some sausage and eggs or whatever. And then you head over and I’m the range where all the pros are hitting. They have an entire section at the end for all the amateurs. And we here we are. I’m like, “Oh, I’m just like two stalls over from Brooks Kepka just pounding balls. Like, what a great time.” So, I felt like the entire thing beginning to end and all the way through. I mean, even the food on course, the drinks, like it was so cool. It was just like very VIP feeling, very cool. Like the whole setup all together all the way through. I thought it was it was done in incredibly well. I mean, it was also funny when you we were when you were driving balls, the difference between the AM side and the pro side in the in the actual driving range. Amside was just tore up. Yeah, it was not only the difference in the ball flight, but the difference in like the divot mess. We’re just I mean I mean look at that. Yeah, just hacked. What I don’t know what club do I got there? Was it like maybe a little eight iron or something? I’m sweating some type of iron. I don’t know. Got that Shane Lowry grip going on. I will also say Dan, I’m glad you hit some balls. When you were over the range the first couple balls, I was like, “All right, Dan, you got to get it dialed. Get it dialed.” by the end, just like you said, that first ball first off the tea, you striped it. Yeah. And you know what? I as long as I have enough time, I don’t care. The first ball, it’s at this point, I’m just like feeling movement for the first time today. I expect nothing out of it. A lot of guys, they like to warm up like they start with a wedge and just hitting little chip shots and all that. For me, I don’t like starting with a wedge because if I go in, I take a swing and I just chunk like a pound of earth, it just like hurts my feelings. So, I like to take my first swing with an eight iron. I don’t care where it goes. I know I’m not going to take a pound of earth and swing it a few times until I hit a good one. Like, ah, there we are. Then I get a few good ones and then I can start going through the bag. Then I pull out a wedge and all that. But it’s like I I need something that’s just going to like get me going for the day. And for me, it’s a starter eight iron. I don’t care how the first few fly, then start hitting the ball. Start feeling it, start working it, going through the bag, make your way all the way up to the driver. And I wasn’t loving the way the driver was flying at first. So, I put it back in the bag and I went back and hit some more irons. Got more comfortable in my full swing. More comfortable. Went back to the driver. Driver starts flying just like I want. I’m seeing my nice little soft fade. I’m like, we’re ready. We’re dialed. Rich is going to be dying out here. It’s hot. I gotta I I mean I did everything I could to empty out my bag, you know? I I took out as much as I could. I took a lot out of it. Your bag was so full. Here’s the thing, though. You made a comment after the round that was to me perceived as pure insanity. You’re like, “Did you even use all those clubs?” When you bring your set of clubs, you don’t know what clubs you’re going to use. Like, there’s no way. Like, there’s no way I’m hitting a five iron out there. I’ll just leave this at home. Like, you don’t know. I You did not need to have every single one of those clubs. Oh, wow. Yeah. Who on this planet is not bringing your full 14 set of clubs, your your legal allotted amount of clubs with you to play a brand new course in a proam? Like, what am I going to do? bring like I’ll bring like 975 iron and leave out the inbetweens cuz it’s heavy. The person that’s not going to do that is the caddy that was told it was supposed to be a golf cart and you had to carry the bag all day. What are you doing with all these clubs? How many do you got in here? Get out of here. Let’s go. This one don’t need it. This one. Get out of here. You’re like, “Yeah, well, did you We can skip every other number here. We don’t need every single number.” He’s like, “Yeah, did you use all those wedges, though?” And I was like, “I used every one of them. for a fact. I don’t know. All right. Did we miss anything, guys, in the the live golf proam? Did we cover it all? I think we did. It In all seriousness though, Dan, thanks for inviting me. Thanks for having me out there, Caddy. And I had an absolute fantastic time. Like just getting to meet everybody. Liv once again putting on an absolutely fantastic show. And like we say every week, come on PGA, let’s figure out something. There’s no reason that these great players aren’t getting to play against the best players in your events and stuff like that. We got to figure out some kind of points ranking. Slow clap. Yeah. Yeah, Rich. Yeah, Rich. We’re all with you on this. No, shout shout out to Li. It was an amazing weekend. Thank you, Dan. Of course. And I’m a four aces fan now because I didn’t have a team before. So, you’re locked. I’m here. Four aces GC. Wow. They’re my second second favorite team now. Uh Smash. Yeah. What about Crushers? knows I I’m Brooks. I’m a Brooks guy, man. Hey, well, Brooks is a Bryson fan now, so you’re allowed to Yeah. They’re no longer rivalry cities or whatever, you know? I don’t know. Even before I got in the golf, I always knew who Brooks Kepka at least was. Yeah. Oh, yeah. All right. Thomas Peters and DJ both played well this weekend, too. I feel like we got to mention that. I feel like, you know, for no reason at all, we should take a little credit for that. Yeah. It’s on us. Yeah. We We just kind of set them up with a good vibe. They were going into the weekend. And they’re like, “You know what? What a great town filled with great people. You could tell.” Yeah. DJ finished like third or fourth. No, Harold Varnner was like fifth, I think. And I think Peters might have been like nine or 10. I don’t remember exactly. DJ was T1, I think, after day one. Well, if they would have played with anyone else, they would have got one, two. Oh, yeah. Oh, you know what time it is now. It is time for breaking news. Breaking news. We got all kinds of breaking news going on here. uh pro- disqualified over freaky sensor equipped club. So uh we had a player out there who forgot that he had a little piece of uh electronics attached to his club. Mr. Greg Chalmer’s, he had one of those little sensors on the end that uh helps you get data for your round. He said he forgot he even had it. He thought he lost it. I feel like they’re pretty noticeable. I don’t know how you do that. Either way, he’s claiming that it was completely by mistake. and it led to a fullblown disqualification from the Champions Tour out there at the Boeing Classic. He was probably taking a Boeing home after that, if you know what I mean. It’s all right. Uh Eli Manning was on the scene down there at the FedEx St. Jude Championship playing some jokes, doing some pranks. He dressed up as a FedEx delivery guy, made his way on course, was making some deliveries, brought over a new club to Ricky Fowler. I loved his little comment. and he said, um, yeah, maybe this one will fly straight after seeing those last few. That is brutal to say to somebody when they’re gearing up for the playoffs. However, Ricky Fowler played quite well, which was wonderful to see. We also saw him uh razing it up with the one and only Keegan Bradley. He had no clue. He didn’t see it coming. He caught on quick. Uh, last but not least here in breaking news, we had a little bit of a Cornfairy Tour mixup. Apparently, one player was supposed to be in, one player was supposed to be out, and they had it wrong. They had it backwards, and the wrong guy was playing for the weekend. Uh Josh, how do we say these names? And I love when you read them. Uh MJ Defu, thank you. Um he was the one, let’s see, currently tied for fourth. He’s the one who played. Wasn’t supposed to be playing. Is that correct? Yes. He had some uh exemptions, some injury exemptions, but those expired. He was not supposed to be in the event. However, he had a spot. He started. He played. And uh Josh, who was uh not in the event, but was supposed to be? Ryan Thomas. That’s how you say it. And the brutal thing was uh Ryion was on the on the range. He was waiting all the way through. He was the first alternate. He was hitting balls, waiting for every single group to start hoping somebody would drop out. Nobody dropped out. They even said his dad flew in from Dubai to watch him play in this event and he was sent home packing. He was not supposed to be an alternate. He was supposed to play in the tournament but through a little bit of a clerical error and apparently the tour is still trying to work out how to resolve this because he missed out on points. He missed on all kinds of stuff and uh they got to get that solved. I don’t know how you work that out. I don’t know what you do. Does the guy get to go back to the course by himself and hammer through a round? I was thinking that solo tournament. I don’t know. I don’t know. But last but not least, and this is hardly breaking news, but Josh, this segment’s for you. We have ourselves a bowler on tour. Um Josh, did you ever think this day would come? Uh yeah, you always knew it would. Yeah, I knew I knew it was coming. You know, Josh, I’m going to let you kind of take the steering wheel here for this segment because it’s so deeply important to you. What do we got going on here? So, we have a corn fairy tour player. Brendan Valdez is obsessed with bowling and travels with it. So, let’s hear what he has to say about it. You could go pro in another sport. What would it be? Bowling 1,000%. I’m I’m a bigger bowler than I am golfer. There there’s a good chance that in a few years you won’t see me out here. You’ll be you’ll see me on the PBA. So, how good are you of a bowler? Uh, well, you know, I’m getting there. I’m getting there. I’d like to say that I’ve put some good some quality time and effort in. and I travel with bowling balls. Uh, I’d say Preston Summer Hazes might be the best out here, though. It’s like, what’s your best score then? Uh, 268. 268’s my best. Yeah. Few days ago, I actually got that one. I was pretty hyped up. Do you travel like airport to airport with your bowling gear? Absolutely. It costs a lot of money. Uh, but, you know, it’s worth it. It’s It’s absolutely worth it. I just have to hope that I play well week to week um out here so that I can pay for my bowling addiction. So, where are you bowling out here? Are you just finding random bowling alleys? Absolutely. I’ve probably been to 20 bowling alleys in the past month and a half. That’s Yeah, I I get a little sore, but you know, I get my caddyy Thiago Barney to to give me a nice little uh nice little rub down and I feel good. So, what are the similarities between bowling and golf? Um, I’d say they both make you really pissed off. Um, that’s one thing that’s that’s pretty similar for me. Um, I I like to also believe that when when you go like this in bowling, it’s just it’s almost the same. It’s that instead of that. So, you know, definitely some good similarities. Mainly in the mental game, though. See, there are similarities. Hey, here’s what I want to say. First of all, traveling with golf clubs, it’s so worth it because going somewhere, playing golf, all that, but it’s a huge pain in the ass traveling with golf clubs. I couldn’t imagine traveling with golf clubs and bowling gear, bringing bowling balls at the same time. Can I tell you what we used to do in college? So, I bowled in college and we went to Vegas. We go to Vegas every year and you we were trying so hard to keep everything under 50 lb. But you add three bowling balls that weigh 15 lbs each. That’s 45 lb on top of the bag that it’s in. The bag’s got to weigh at least 5 lbs. So what we would do, we find guys like me who don’t use thumbs that has a little bit extra weight in the bowling ball. Uh and then we’ll find a girl on the girls team or the women’s team that throws like 14 pounds. And we would have to stuff and play like Jenga to figure out which balls would go in which bag and we’d have to write it all down and we had to take pretty much all the padding out of your bag. Like save like a golf bag like the Cobra bag. There’s stuffing you could take in and out. We took all of it out. It It’s a pain, dude. And then bring in golf clubs. Yeah. Just wild. And what I did like at the very end there when he was talking about the similarities, uh, in bowling, you got, you know, when you go through your shot, you’re not coming around. Just like in golf, you don’t come around when you swing a golf club. You come through. Here’s a question I have. There’s so many amateur novice golfers who think, “Oh, I’m pretty decent. I could go pro.” Hearing him say whatever he maybe is pretty decent at bowling. I think I can go pro. Do you think he has the same like delusion for a different sport that most people do have for golf? I I actually thought that he was going to be a really good bowler. Yeah. Which I mean he could still average around 190 195 so be a pretty good bowler. But once he goes my high game was 268. I’m like oh no I did that like two weeks ago. Like like you’re good with this real quick. Like he’s le that’s the first thing I thought thought Josh is I mean heck it seems like once a month you’re bowling a 300 game and his high is at 268. Yeah I’ve already I’ve only done two 300s this year. So only two. Only two. How many hole ones have you guys hit this year? Uh zero this year. Oh okay. Yeah I took a break. I figured I’m still celebrating last year’s. I’m still riding that high from my one and only. Yeah. You still run to the ball. Yeah. Every time, even if I could see it, I’m like, “Well, maybe.” One time. Yeah. Uh I I do love though the fact that that he shares that similar like delusional attitude of I could go pro in this other sport that I’m only like medium good at at this point. But he’s like, “You might not see me on this tour. I’ll be out there on the PVA with my 268.” It’s great. Well, Josh, that’s a big victory. Yeah, it is. I was when I saw that I’m like, I’m sending it to you guys and it’s going to potentially be in the show. This is going in the show or I’m taking this entire show down. Josh threatened to burn the studio down if we didn’t cover that segment. Figures at least. He’s actually going to cut that out and move it to the very beginning of the show. It’s the first thing we talk about. Intro bowling segment immediately. Oh man. Um, wow. Well, you know, I don’t know if it’ll ever happen, but maybe someday, you know, we’ll off to get out and bowl a ball and see what happens. Teach you guys how to bowl. Maybe we’ll go pro in that. You know what? I I I I hit a couple strikes once. Maybe I’ll go pro. Yeah, maybe I’ll be in the PVA one of these years. Yeah, guys, we’re going to be I’m not going to lie, my bowling game can’t be any worse than my golf game. It’s the same thing. Half of it. You’re good at half of it, Rich. The drinking half. Yes. There you go. Well, want to thank you guys for joining us here in Dan’s Bowling World. The number one bowling show. Only bowling. There’s more than you think. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. There’s more than you think. There’s more bowling shows than you think because there’s a lot of pros that like the younger pros are in the YouTube. There’s more than one. We switched formats and let number one mid show. Give us our plaque. Yeah. Oh, man. You can now find us on SI/Bing. Oh, yeah. Big highlight section on the website. All right. Well, I think that’s it. But for now, that’s all we got right here on this week’s edition of the Dan’s Golf World Show brought to you by I’m throwing it this way to you, Josh Sports Illustrated. Thank you.
