Well, our leader, Marco Penge, who had that breakthrough win at Hainan Island. This was for Eagle at the sixth, his 15th hole. He was already six under par at that stage. So, a birdie there taking him to seven under. Problems off the tea at the next. Yeah. So, he’s got this little pitch and up and down to try and save his pass. Stay at seven under. At this point, he was four shots clear of anybody else out in the golf course. And that was a beautiful stroke and a great pass save for him. And then on his final hole, long birdie putt. [Music] Not to be, but close enough to nudge it in for a 64. This was no issue for him. Not the way he’s putting. What a fantastic round of golf. He really does seem to be uh blossoming, doesn’t he? Now fulfilling the potential that everyone’s known he’s had since a he was a young amateur. Get the yardage is a musty just swirling breeze just down a little bit. Should be a great chance to make three here. There you go. Come on down. Go in for two. Oh, it is. Oh, that is incredible. And just as he scramles a part of the last and we say it might turn his day around, he comes up with the best shot of the day. That’s unbelievable. What a relief. It’s already whole one second shot for Oh, no way. You have got to be kidding. Oh, just put me down for two Eagles in three holes. Well, he’s playing from the lawn right in the center of the fairway. Oh, you’re kidding me. It’s almost the same shot as Hoyard. Well, Michael Lindberg, he’s been on and off the uh DP World Tour, the Hotel Planetour for the last what, three, four years or so. Oh, that’ll help. Not a great lie either. No, very steep stab forward as John says, just short of that hollow over the top. Wow, that is astonishingly good. Yeah, different gravy that one, Rowy, cuz that could have been terrible. And now it’s wonderful. What a pit shot he hit out of that rough. That was top quality. Second and Joe Dean with a chance here. Boyed by his runner-up finish last week, that made a huge difference to his season. being vaulted from outside the top 110 all the way inside the top 50 with putts like that. Jodine great birdie chance at three and makes use of it. Nicely done. This would be for three in a row as well. Oh, that’s only going one place, isn’t it? Nicely done. Molinari’s third now at the first. Nice clean line can take it up and over the slope and does beautiful going to make his par four. Superb touch from Molinari. Good well. Wow. Great shout by Jamie as well. There’s that bit of release. Oh, beauty. Quickly back to the first for Norard second. Oh, that’s fairly decent spin control, wouldn’t you say? Begging to be it close. All about distance control. Oh, it’s beauty. Oh, it’s a beauty. Almost a gimme. Yeah, honestly, you know, after after the start I had, I’m very pleased with the couple under. You know, you never want to start with a six, but uh told my caddyy Brian walking off the tea that hole today. I mean, I haven’t seen the scoring average yet, but I would assume it’s pretty close to five. Um so, yeah, delighted. Great great crowds out. I’ve noticed quite a few players actually taking a little bit of time off around at this stage of the year. I guess it’s all fast and furious as we watch Andy Sullivan. Nice birdie for him at number seven moving to three under. It’s been fast and furious so far. I mean, you’ve been states side quite a bit as well. And then it’s going to be a busy end of season as well. Yeah. What a shot. What a shot. What a shot. [Applause] That is incredible. Yes, you’ve got a bit of fortune at the down slope, but he played it magnificently. He’s got another one. What a start this is for the Frenchman who’s just turned 40. [Applause] Can’t imagine right now he wants to bail out in all honesty from a divot. Oh, that’s a that’s a cracking shot I have to say from that lie going straight at it because there’s nothing to aim at. He could have gone long there and made 10 if he’d got a flyer out of that divot, but he might well limit the limit the damage tone. It’s hardly limiting it. But that was a cracking shot really. Yeah, that’s what he’s done too. You want to keep it below the level of those trees on the left. Keep the wind off the ball. And that was very cleverly and beautifully done. Being cut tight right, not one to go out really. Middle of the green will do you. Best we’ve seen all day from Raasmus. He’s got his eye in. He’s got that look in his eye. He’s got the game face on. Fabulous. Absolutely sensational front nine. Yeah, well done. Pitches it up on that top tier with a bit of spin. Brings it back dead pin high. 12th. Another difficult par four out of the fluffy stuff from quite a long way back. Oh, but it’s an absolute beauty. Jodine up and over the tree at 13. [Applause] Good heavens. We just seen an equal two. We nearly had another one. Chakara into the 13th. [Applause] Exquisite. Now here’s Jakara into 14. Nicely done. Really nicely done from the Spaniard. Yes. Yes. Oh, yes. There you go. Boy, did he need that. Jakara, two holes to go. Second and 17 having a word with the ball. And I think that’s what he was begging for was a bounce like that. firing it into 518. Gouging it out. Wow. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. What? What a shot that is. Oh, there’s a bit of fortune involved, but man, very straight angles. Sounded lovely, didn’t it? Oh, it certainly was. There you go. That was very nice, wasn’t it? He’s quite colorful, isn’t he? Inoi Hur from South Korea. There we go. For Norard. Come on, roll it in. Has been a day for Eagles. We’ve seen plenty of them. There you go. Didn’t he just deserve that? They’re thinking, “What is this? An easy game? Everybody makes eagles.” Couldn’t put it, could it? could he foresal [Applause] three at the last and a round of 66. He kind of deserves it in a way, doesn’t he? He’s had a really good day out there. He has only dropped a one shot like so many others at the 10th. Well, no one would begrudge Francesco that in all honesty. But how did he get there? How did that happen? That was really amazing. And well, the chip was better, wasn’t it? Marco, seven under 64 to start. Yeah, it’s not bad, is it? Yeah. No, today was uh yeah, I was a bit disappointed after last week with how I executed my rounds of golf. Um so yeah had a good chat with the team over the last couple of days to try and um correct that and uh yeah today was obviously a good example of that. Was it a technical correction needed something in the swing? It was more just like process routine sort of stuff. A bit of the mental side of the game. had a chat with my psychologist last night with my team and just uh yeah, I’m I’m quite hard on myself and you know always looking at things with constructive criticism and last week I wasn’t good enough and uh I wanted to yeah I didn’t want it to be like that and um it wasn’t good enough there so I wanted to correct that here and yeah hit the ball better made some changes uh in my equipment um actually put some new irons in the same heads but changed the loss a little Um, so yeah, a couple of changes and it worked. It has worked. And is this course, you know, last week we were by the sea, in the wind, in the links here. Is this much more your kind of course? Uh, I mean, it’s obviously an inland partland, which I like. It’s pretty similar to back home in England. Um, a little bit fiddly in places. Um, you know, it’s actually a really good test of golf, especially the back nine. Um yeah, you can’t really afford to hit it offline and uh luckily today I didn’t really miss a shot for the whole round and yeah, you know, there’s a score out there, but you’ve got to play really well and I think you’ll see that in the scoring that it’d be quite separated. New course record, right? That is okay. Happy with that? Yeah, I’ll take that. Um yeah, I just enjoyed playing some good golf again and uh executing my shots how I kind of saw it before I pulled the trigger and um you know, you don’t have many days like that. So yeah, I’m probably uh you know, I’m going to end up in some trouble at some point this week. Um I’m just glad I got through 18 holes so far without being in that trouble.
