GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – On this installment of Florida Man Adventures we are here in Gainesville at Future Country Club, we are going to be beating the heat and still hitting the links lets check it out.
Florida weather can wreak havoc on any golfers plans. But now Future Country Club has got you covered and cooled in their indoor golf simulator. Future Country Club is a family business and they hope to use new tech and a comfortable space to bring golf back to the way it was then they were growing up here.
“Golf, when we were growing up was awesome. So many courses West End, Meadowbrook, etc., and unfortunately many of them have closed down. So we moved back recently and we found this spot and we thought great opportunity to kind of start revitalizing golf in the community,” said Trace Rucarean, owner of Future Country Club,
You can play real golf courses from all around the world, including courses in Gainesville and Ocala, and some bonus courses are out of this world.
“We are a fully private members only golf club here in Gainesville. And the way it works is we have access to this unbelievable simulator technology. So you can play over 1,700 golf courses here, practice on your game. Record your stats. We have a putting green in here too. So you can come in here and work on your game, practice, or bring your buddies and play golf,” said Ruarean.
They tee me up and give me some pointers.
The computer gives you real time metrics: speed, grouping, and the arc of your shoots.
“it is full golf everything is full so you can hit your driver, hit your wedges, irons, you can even put on here. So it is just like playing golf in real life it is super realistic and we invested heavily into the technology to make sure it is as accurate as possible,” said Ruarean.
They even have a 35-foot indoor hole, with any putting tool you might want to try.
Future County Club has late hours so you can train any time.
“We are open 4am to midnight we are about to go 24/7 so we might be pre-launching that but look for 24/7 here soon.”
Using the tech of today to develop the golfers of tomorrow is what Future Country Club is all about.
