Discover guide mentions this community is home to some of the most scenic golf courses in the country

Dear Editor,

Your article “Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge a golfers paradise” was a complete waste of time.

Pitt Meadows has five 18-hole courses (at four clubs – Pitt Meadows Golf Club, Golden Eagle Golf Club, Meadow Gardens Golf Club, and two 72-par courses at Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club), and Maple Ridge has one executive nine-hole course and one Mickey Mouse par 3 course – while Pitt Meadows has less than 20 per cent the population of Maple Ridge.

Maple Ridge has already closed down one executive course (Heather Hills) and is about to close Maple Ridge Golf Course, leaving Maple Ridge  with only a par 3 course left.

What a joke.

Except for possibly Swan-E-Set, the other courses you glow about don’t hold a candle to 50-per-cent-plus of other courses I’ve played in B.C.

The chambers of commerce must have written this article.

Murray McColeman, Maple Ridge
