Another weekend of golf with the top 50 in the world? Sounds like treat.
Round 2 of the FedEx Cup Playoffs takes a trip to Owings Mills, Maryland, as the BMW Championship is officially underway.
The top 50 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings make their way to Caves Valley Golf Club to play for a chance to be included in the top 30 and have everything to play for in Atlanta for the TOUR Championship.

The St. Jude Championship finished with 2018 FedEx Cup Champion, Justin Rose, beating J.J. Spaun in a playoff to win the tournament. While some champions rose, others fell as 2015 FedEx Cup Champion, Jordan Spieth, was unable to crack the top 50 and will not be participating in this weekend’s tournament.
As another playoff round approaches, a new prize fund is available and the top three is subject to seven figures. Here is the purse for the BMW Championship.

Is Rory McIlroy playing this weekend?
At the time of publishing, Rory McIlroy is in the field for the BMW Championship. It was rumored that he did not participate last weekend in the St. Jude Championship because he felt he was high enough in the standings to miss the tournament. McIlroy does still sit second behind Scottie Scheffler but is only a couple hundred points ahead of J.J. Spaun and Justin Rose now.
