LIV Golf Indianapolis first-round predictions
Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood are two of the players facing a sweat to avoid the LIV Golf relegation zone before this week’s final individual tournament of the season, and it is difficult to see them finishing ahead of Paul Casey in the top Englishman market in Indianapolis.
Both Poulter and Westwood are enduring poor form, while Casey has been finishing the season strongly with fifth, 11th and second-place finishes in three of this last four outings.
He is coming good when others have more pressing matters on their mind, while market leader Tyrrell Hatton has posted only one top-ten finish in his last six outings and could have one eye on a potential Ryder Cup berth next month.
Casey has the accuracy to perform well at the untried Chatham Hills course this week and while senior Richard Bland could give him plenty to think about after his tenth place in Chicago last week, faith should be kept in the Surrey slugger to come out on top in that market.
The best match bet looks to be for Sebastian Munoz to get the better of Cameron Smith.
The Colombian blew out in the second tournament in Adelaide after finishing second in the opener in Riyadh, but he has not finished lower than 21st since as he has banked five top-ten finishes.
He is worth chancing against the Australian, who will regard his 17th in the standings as underwhelming for a player of his quality and his 29th in Chicago was no great shakes, while he missed the cut in all four Majors.
