Hi, I’m Lily with Office of Conservation Investment teaming up with Rivers Our Life to bring you a few river fun facts on the Bell River that flows through St. Clair County, Michigan. Did you know that the Bell River is almost 74 miles long and has great species diversity of fish and wildlife, including some rare muscle species? In my role at Office of Conservation Investment, I’m a fish and wildlife biologist manager that manages the federal funding that Michigan DNR receives to support the Sportfish Restoration Act of 1950. For 75 years, state agencies have received more than $12 billion to foster fisheries conservation and connect people with the outdoors. Stay tuned for more river fun facts, and always remember, rivers are life.
