RICHFIELD – Carbon and Emery golf teams opened up their season in full swing at the Cove View Course in Richfield, as the Region 13 teams gathered for a day of golf. The new region includes North Sanpete, Manti, Union Carbon and Emery.
Carbon’s Dayton King began his season where he left off last, as he shot the low score of the day with a 73. Levi King followed for the Dinos with a 78.
Champ Justice led the Emery team with a score of 81, followed by Carbon’s Cash Withers and Paxton Falk, both scoring an 84 on the course. Rounding out the top scorers from the teams are Easton Stoker (Emery, 86), Christian Cowan (Carbon, 87), Karson Gazell (Carbon, 88) and Owen Blackham (Emery, 89).
They were followed by Peyton Nielson (Emery, 90), Bronx Olsen (Emery, 90), Bodee Norton (Emery, 91), Tristan Cunningham (Carbon, 93), Connor Falk (Carbon, 103), Staton Bingham (Emery, 103) and Brendon Behuin (Emery, 103).
The Union Cougars finished on top with a team score of 315, Carbon was a close second with 319. Emery followed in third, North Sanpete in fourth and Manti placed fifth.
The teams will now travel to Mt. Pleasant, as North Sanpete will host the teams at the Skyline Mountain Resort.
