Abbotsford golfers will soon have a new sanctuary to continue working on their game when the weather makes hitting the links undesirable.
Simply Indoor Golf has announced they open for business in October and the training facility will offer events, camps or the ability to work with local instructors.
The new business is located inside the Mill Tower building at #100 – 34077 Gladys Ave.
A business licence for the new venture was acquired in June and projectors for the Trackman simulators were installed recently. A soft launch for the business occurred earlier this month.
“Simply Indoor Golf was born from a shared passion for the game and a vision to make golf accessible year-round in Abbotsford,” Simply Indoor Golf states on their website. “As avid golfers ourselves, we understood the challenges that Canadian weather poses to maintaining and improving your game. Our mission is simple: provide an exceptional golf experience in a comfortable indoor setting, helping players of all levels enjoy and improve their game regardless of weather or time constraints.”
The Trackman system uses radar technology to track and record the characteristics of a ball in motion and was created in 2003 by Danish siblings Klaus and Morten Eldrup-Jørgensen and radar engineer Fredrik Tuxen. It was first used on the PGA Tour in 2006. The technology is also used by all 30 Major League Baseball teams and many minor league teams.
Simply Indoor Golf boasts 4K displays on their simulators and they stated that they have a vast course selection for golfers to try. The facility also has a lounge area with refreshments available. The business also offers corporate events, birthday party packages and is promoting Thursday’s as Ladies Night. Head golf pro Patrick Ericson is also available for lessons and they are offered in individual, group or junior rates.
Membership details have not yet been shared, but it’s believed that members will receive 24/7 access to the facility through usage of a fob.
The indoor Trackman experience is also available at the Top Spin Golf Lounge, which is located in the upstairs portion of the Top Spin Pickleball Club (102-33445 MacLure Rd.). Top Spin opened their lounge to the public last year.
