Luke Donald admits he could not be happier his fellow countrymen Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood have officially qualified for his 2025 team to face United States at Bethpage Black next month.
Donald, 47, took to social media after news was made official in the European camp that both Rose, 45, and Fleetwood, 34, have punched their tickets to New York.
Rose captured his 12th PGA Tour title and first since February 2023 with a stunning playoff victory over US Open champion JJ Spaun at the FedEx St Jude Championship at TPC Southwind on Sunday.
The Englishman birdied six of his last eight holes to get the job done in Memphis and earn a seventh appearance on the European Ryder Cup team.
Fleetwood was once again left empty-handed in his 162nd PGA Tour start but he took consolation from also making his way into Donald’s team.
Despite taking a two-shot lead into the final three holes, Fleetwood stumbled late with a par on the easy par-5 16th before making a costly bogey on the 17th to fall one shot shy of the playoff.
Fleetwood will make a fourth straight appearance on the European Ryder Cup team next month.
Rose and Fleetwood now join Rory McIlroy as the only three players safely through to the away team.
Donald could not be more delighted.
“Amazing to have both of these guys back on the Team,” Donald commented on the European Ryder Cup team’s official post confirming Fleetwood and Rose have made the side.
“They bring so much both on and off the course.
“Let’s Go!”

A remaining three players will earn automatic spots on the team.
Qualification for the team ends after the Betfred British Masters at the end of this month.
Donald will then reveal his six picks.
The 2025 Ryder Cup takes place at Bethpage from 26-28 September.
Donald’s Team Europe are the defending champions following their devastating five-point victory at Marco Simone in Rome, Italy, in 2023.
