The New Course officially opened last week, and ahead of the inaugural Nexo Championship, David Micheluzzi was tasked with shooting the lowest ever round on the new layout at Donald Trump’s Trump International Golf Links.

How low could he go?

What is this place? My name is David Mluzi and I’m about to be the first professional golfer to play the new course at Trump International Scotland. Really cool golf course. Oh, you wouldn’t read about it. How low can I go? Let’s find out. Oh. I think I can see the ball. It looks no good. There we go. No, that’s very average. No bogeies. Oh, go. This is going to be epic. I reckon if I shoot level part, I’ll be pretty happy. just because like I’ve never seen the course. So now this looks this actually looks sick. It looks mad. Well, it’s either going to be good or pretty average. And off we go. No warm up didn’t help that one. I got 170. I got 170 m, but it’s don’t want to go into trouble. So, I reckon I’ll just lay this up and give myself a wedge shot. I reckon I think I’ve hit a two. Good. Sit. I think I’ve just gone from bunker to bunker. Good start. Good start. Oh, I think I can see the ball. It looks no good. We’re in for a absolute day. Well, I was right. Definitely going under. I’m going to hit this. Okay. It can only get better from here. It Oh no. That would have been the best birdie I think I’ve made in years. All right, make sure of it. Never bow you the first. Seriously, I’d actually take that even through one. That was entertaining. Just checked the range find. That was about 230 to cover the trap on the right. Um somewhere between the traps I think should be fine. Pretty shortish shortish hole, but it’s into the wind, so no more bunkers, please. A Yes. Here we go. Some grass. This is fun. 96 straight into playing about 120. Hold her up. How often do you play like this? Caddyless kind of caddyless all the time. Oh, you can make this course so hard if you wanted to. Oh, stop it. Two putts through two. Oh, we like doing that. That was nice. All right, one under through two. Never thought I’d see the day. 144. 144 meters. Sit. Oh, that’s gone straight through the wind. Sit down. Uh, stop at any point. I hit it probably better than I thought I would into the wind, but yeah, that felt that looks like it’s gone a mile. I don’t know. This is very cool hole. This is actually really cool. 3 hours in, I’m already speechless. A a never up, never in. Well, tough hole like that. I’ll take part. On to the next. That is one of the better paths I’ve played, I reckon. That is such a cool hole. Nice. If the first three holes are like that, can’t wait to see what the next What’s that? 15 holes look like. Kind of don’t know what to do on this hole. Ah, it’s on the fair. I’ll take it. Like, it’s a kind of a mix. It’s kind of like kind of US kind of style with links. This is uh a really cool golf course. I did not expect this. All right, ball. Show us your head. Where is it? Ah, no. It’s in the rough. 139. 139 113 to cover the piss green wind into off the left pin pin. I’m really good at putt putt, so anywhere on the green’s okay. It should be all right. Well, the only flat lie I’ve had is on tea boxes, so Oh, go. Oh, go. Oh, thank God. That would have been a bit embarrassing. It’s on the green. I’ll take it. Left. Left. Oh, it’s not in. Act like there’s no one around you. Look, I’ll take that for to be honest. Standing on that tea, I had no idea what I was supposed to do then. One under through four from what I’ve seen. See the the like kind of peak like the like triangle of the June pretty much straight at that. So you see that bushy tree that’s on the edge of the bunker, the left edge of the bunker, just right of that looks like middle of the fairway somewhere there go. Well, I don’t know. So either either we’re driving back in another one or it’s mint. Hey, to be honest, I’ll take this. No warm up. Straight out onto it. New course. Never seen it before. Oh, here we go. No bunker there. Oh. Oh, come on, wind. Sit. Oh, that has gone so far. Seriously have some fun around this joint. Very very cool. A stretch. one under through five. Obviously like wanted to design this place to be a bit more friendly but still be very difficult. The old course you’ll see it for the tournament. It’s like it’s not quite forgiving. It’s quite tight. Greens are slightly a little bit elevated with a lot of runoffs and all that. So, it’s more of a ball striker’s course where this is um but it’s just a little bit wider. But at the same time, there’s still a lot of threats around and like you can see like with the slopes on the greens, like the greens are large, but there’s so many plateaus which for like the the amateur golfer that plays off between I would say even like 25 30 like they could still like obviously the tea boxes will dictate that but it’ still be a lot of fun. Like so he’s through five holes and it’s it’s pretty cool. Place is really cool. 178. I feel like I should have that cover. Straight into the wind. Better hit it. Hit it half decent. Um, now seeing what the golf course is actually like, I’m actually scoring all right, but they’ve been they’ve been very very like kind in pin positions. Gotta make them 15th TE’s. There’s a bunker down there, like a little pot bunker. I think that’s like 340 yards to it, which I think in this wind with my absolute best is getting nowhere near it. So, I think it’s like o just over like the the green T marker and stay on land. Stay on land. Oh, maybe maybe. Oh. Oh, we’re safe. This is a beast. All other threewood. Not what I was expecting to be honest. I didn’t expect that much water and I didn’t expect it to be as undulating, but this takes it to a new level.
