a big part of the RDER Cup is the impact on where it’s played the local community and um no better place to come than a local school northside Elementary School is a proud home for about 350 students ranging from about age 4 through about age 10 we have our mascot in there who’s going to walk you in mascot what’s the mascot that’s a lion luke and Diane reached out and it was one of the easiest questions I had to answer all year with a resounding yes i knew that we had the makings of a really cool experience for our students so it’s my honor to introduce the 2025 European Ryer Cup captain Luke Donald let’s give him a north side welcome we really wanted to feel like we had a connection to this community and just you know show our appreciation you know what the best thing about the Ryder Cup is on Tuesday and Wednesday of the Riding Cup you guys don’t have school [Music] [Applause] great to just get them inspired get them interested in what’s about to happen everyone look at the camera how many people are going to come to the event how many people are going to tune in to the event it’s a pretty big deal you say who said no who started that who’s ready for a nature walk oh look at this weather essentially this is like another classroom at North Side so we’re going to go see if we could find any cool birds up on birding trail birdies are good golf a tough crowd tough crowd just to walk around this little nature walk was pretty fascinating for me and for the kids this is an old relic tight list black prov you’ll find a lot more our kids now it’s just everything is so fast-paced and there’s a lot of sitting down in front of screens and I think it’s so important to balance that with some time in nature and time outdoors looking forward to on a little trip on the yellow bus it’s been a few years and we’ll take them out to the golf course and show them around oh my gosh as you can tell by what they wore there’s many golfing outfits that I was able to spot today so they are absolutely excited for the real golfing experience you love golf who’s your favorite golfer luke Donald yes that’s her favorite golfer she said you’re her favorite golfer we’re off in about 4 months time this will look completely different this will have a massive stand how do you like my buggy you can sit in it okay who wants to grab a putter some of these kids never been exposed to golf and uh give them a few tips on putting and how to play this game oh I didn’t hit it hard enough oh what kind of a pro are you put it into the hole all right just a little too hard back and through it’s green so fast there we go pulling one there we go me and my grandpa since I was little we would always be obsessed with golf and I would always watch it with him and this is a real big opportunity for me to be an actual famous golfer i got a little gift for all of you so we have a ticket here for Wednesday it’s the practice round at the Ryder Cup hopefully they can come and obviously it’s quiet right now uh it’s not going to be that quiet you know when Ryder Cup kicks off if they keep going that way they might run into the nature path yes they will hopefully they get to experience it and feel the energy like we do and hopefully that will get them inspired and maybe want to take up again i want to root for my country but I also want to root for Europe whoever wins I’ll be happy either way to watch another Ryder Cup video click here and subscribe here
