It was a “GOOD” day at Delmar Golf Course on Sunday.
Tyler Good captured the 65th Annual Delmar Golf Course Club Championship yesterday with a brilliant 2 under par 70 to hold off Michael Pope by 2 shots. Good, a former EC golf standout, started the day a shot back of defending champion Jordan Keller, who opened with a 2 under par 70. Good used birdies on 14, 15 and 16 to pull away from the field and outlast 2024 runner up Michael Pope. Pope’s final round 4 under par 68 was the low score of the weekend. Ellwood City golf team Senior and co-captain, Jordan Keller closed with a 74 to finish 3rd at 144.
In other flight action, Keigan Hopper closed with a 75 to capture the A-flight title by two strokes over Patrick Jackson. Gino Biondi, a current EC golf team sophomore outlasted teammates Nate Kennedy and Jaxon Rozanski to captured the B-Flight. Colten Crizer, a former WPIAL gold medalist in the 800 hundred meters went on a birdie run of his own Sunday. Crizer birdied 4 straight holes (4,5,6, and 7) on his way to a final round 78 and 3 stroke victory over EC sophomore Adam Jeffcoat. Donnie Mulig successfully captured the D-Flight title with a closing 90.
The Senior Division and Junior divisions saw repeat winners as both Brad Linville and Jordan Keller defended their titles.
This season’s championship field was comprised of 64 members of Delmar Golf Course. A special thanks to the Delmar grounds crew and Delmar bar staff for excellent course conditions and wonderful meals to enjoy over the weekend.
