Plans to build an underpass to connect two parts of a golf course in the south of the Isle of Man have been approved.
The proposals would see a tunnel, with a width and height of 2.5m (8.2ft), installed under Ballacutchel Road near the Comis Hotel in Mount Murray.
Designed to be big enough for pedestrians, golf buggies and course machinery, the tunnel would, according the planning application, provide a “direct, safe connection between the two halves of the course”.
It was a “vital” part of upgrade works to improve the course, which would be the primary golf venue during the 2029 Island Games, the application added.
