Guys, welcome back to the major cut series. Today we have the number one public golf course on the planet, Pebble Beach. And if you are new here to the Major Cut, we are going to try and make the cut in the 2019 US Open that was held here at Pebble Beach. The cut was plus two, meaning we got to shoot two over or better over the next two rounds to complete the task. Yeah. And Gary Woodland was the champion. That by far for the major cut series. I’ve never gotten that amped up for a first T shot. I was already amped up and then when Phelps just showed up there and just was like arms crossed. It felt like it felt like he was judging us, dude. I mean, I was so amped up that I couldn’t even shake his hand. You saw I mean, let’s just let’s just replay it. Scott, it was I mean I Okay, I froze. Didn’t know what to do. They were playing rock paper scissors. But today’s going to be a good one. I mean, it doesn’t Was that Carney waving at me like, “Hey, how you doing?” Or was he waving like, “Oh, no.” Then the belt went in. Dude, what’s going on right now? This is a wild start to a video. Here we go. We got 130. It’s only playing like 120 down breeze. Going with a 50. Yeah, it is. Stay there. Okay, perfect. I’ll take it. That was a good swing there. Good spot uphill from there. Like the adrenaline’s like just now dumping and it’s like wearing off after. Telling you guys, most nerves I’ve been on a major cut right there. I still can’t believe that happened. Like what am I doing? Couldn’t have happened to a better person, too. I’m not I’m literally not going to I’m going to rewatch this video and get all the anxiety again in a few but 110 54. I didn’t That’s crazy. I didn’t even That coin That coin out there is pretty close. There’s a lot of dive at the end of it. The one on the left. Uh yeah, the lower one there. Probably slightly inside of it. Yep. I like that a lot. Yeah. Gentle up. Like flag out. You can take it out. Oh boy. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Blast it right through the break. You know what? I just realized we’ve been here for like four hours and all I’ve done is been in the pro shop and hitting golf balls. Didn’t hit one putt. Got your four hours. Sky. Thank you. Caught the hole. Wow, the cut line is getting longer for some, shorter for others. That that you’re right. Also apologize to you guys having to watch and relive those the handshake fiasco of 2025. But three that’s a solid hole. Hey to recover from that to recover from the handshake to make birdie on the first hole. Impressive. And again it’s not the handshake like it’s with Michael the literal goat of Olympic sports. And I fumbled that. I can’t imagine playing Pebble Beach and birdie in your first hole. But that just happened to two people, Wesley and George. We’re here on the second hole. It’s normally a par five for the US Open. It’s a par4. So 500 yard par4, hole two. And you know, I I played in the AT&T Prom out here. Uhhuh. And it was a par five. It was a nice You had a nice easy comfortable start. Now this turns into one of the harder par4s on the golf course. So let’s get it. Uh oh. Give me a good lie. Yeah. Oh no. No. That’s just a bad spot to be. Well, I mean, is there any like What do you want to be if you’re not the fairway? Well, I don’t know. First cut. You just want to split those bunkers. Ideally. Well, that’s what it looks like. All right. No wind. The T- shot set you up right there. Why are you not going to really? I got the bunker. I’m going to start over here. The wind not pushing it right at all. I’m making that up. All right. I’m going to I got to go right of those. The T- box kind of sets you up to go into that bunker. This is a big hole. Very difficult. We got all of us in a bunker to start. Well, good plays a three shutter. Let’s all enjoy some bunkers, man. Well, you didn’t want to go where they went. I tried not to. Tried to hit it more to the right. Yep. Pin’s sitting at about 208 to the pen. Yeah, we’re right around We’re downwind, right? Like 202 middle. Yeah, downwind. I mean, that puts front edge only at like 190, right? And it’s not like straight down like it kind of felt off the tea. It’s got this little kind of right to left cross down. Yeah. So, it sort of swirls a little bit. Okay. Yeah. What a shot just in front there. Yeah. All right. Good. Good shot. Thank you. Yep. Called it a a grain of sand fat. I’m going to coin a new phrase here. I called it a grain fat. One grain of sand. We got 195 sixiron in hand. Lip shouldn’t be an issue if I hit it solid. Oh, there goes the phone. But that ball is right at it. So good. What a shot, Wes. Great shot. I mean, how you are quite literally one of the best golfers on the planet right now. You are. I got eight. Just hoping to get it over this lip. Unless he’s built differently. All right. It’s kind of hitting hitting hopes scenario here. It’s got to go. Get over the hazard. Okay. Got over. Just squeezed over up there. No, it was like a semi layup. I I couldn’t get it to the green, but I did hit a little heavier than I was hoping. So, all right. I’m trying to take this in right now, guys. I mean, we’re obviously trying to make this cut, but this is one of the greatest walks in golf. People always ask me, “What is your favorite golf course? Um, we’ve been lucky enough to travel around the world, play tons of golf courses. Pebble Beach is my number one.” This is my favorite golf course I’ve ever played. Just say Selena’s your number one, and then you can put whatever you want. So, Selena, you can just say, you don’t have to mean it. I don’t know where that one would fall. Um, Chris, how is it uh just cattying out here? I mean, you you walk arguably one of the greatest golf courses on the planet every day of your life. Truth. Uh, does it ever get old? Uh, it never really gets old. I, you know, I probably don’t look out there as much as I should to be totally honest. Yeah. But it’s cool meeting new people every single day. All walks of life, people coming out here. I mean, brand new golfers, professionals. I mean, it’s just it’s cool to see different things every day. Yeah%. Yeah. You just look out and you see the ocean. You didn’t think you’d be on a YouTube video today. Was not expecting that fully. So, that’s pretty cool, too. It’s all right. It’s a great par. Yeah, there’s some great pars. Who would have thought? This is why the game of golf is so beautiful. You look at Wesley’s second shot. It’s not beautiful. He’s got a wonderful downhill birdie putt. George and I know shot we make par. I don’t know how this game works. It’s It’s really confusing sometimes. and makes you bang your head. Drivers got to kind of almost go, see the red stake right here in front of us? Yeah. You got to end up kind of just right of that into the wind with Wow. Yeah. Yeah. So, we got that short. We’re going over the trees basically or either over or around them. You know what I mean? Yeah. Okay. That’s got to sit, right? Yep. Boy, that was hitting nice. That was hitting nice. in the bunker. Sorry, we’re wrong on us. What a start to this year. Major cut 2025. My major moment has been Champions Retreat where I beat you guys. That’s very selfish, but No, you played great golf. That was whenever I can I mean, I never thought I’d beat you guys in a major cut over two days. And that was a good that was a good week. I feel like you’re almost hole in one at Chambers was like Yeah, that’s the moment. That’s my moment. the the almost hole in one at Chambers. George, what’s your I think the me playing the 18th hole at Quail if you didn’t watch it and Bo you’re better to make the cut. It’s not that hard but like feeling the tournament nerves hitting a good drive then a good you know second shot scary shot in a chip. Yeah making so like clutching up and and making the kill normal is pretty pretty special. But you know being here at Pebble I mean tr I mean this is just tough. I mean look at this. Yeah. I mean truly look at it. I mean look at a walk guys. Hopefully you can feel this through your TV screen. That is the ocean that we’re coming up on. It starts to get really good. Wesley, what’s your favorite moment so far? I think my favorite moment I think that we shared as a group was a sequence sequence of events at Pinehurst where I like fly in the hole. A couple holes later, George hits the flag on nine at Pinehurst. Goes in the bunker. Instead of making a one, goes into the bunker. Yes. I don’t That that was just like a if you guys haven’t seen the Pinehurst major cut. That was one of the best ones we’ve ever filmed. But Wesley literally flew it in the hole out of like the fescue. He didn’t even have a good lie. Flew it in the cup. Jumped out. Wild stuff. But oh, there’s the ocean. What do we got here? 123. It’s down like three. Didn’t call it a smooth stock 120, but into the breeze. I think we’re still fighting back into that wind a little bit. Oh shoot. Okay. So that could, you know. Oh boy. Yep. Yep. Nope. Oh no. Pull it. Look at this, dude. I There’s a giant cliff out there. I mean, that’s ridiculous. I can’t wait for that shore part three, dude. That’s going to get me going. Pell Beach, thank you guys for making this happen. I mean, truly the whole the whole staff here allowing us to come do what we do for a couple days. This is special. It is. It’s not going to go in though. It’s completely chunked. Awesome. Okay. 73 pins five up from the center. So 73 you said? Yep. 73 puts front edge right around like 68. Big bounce off the back of that bunker probably. Yeah, I think we caught the down slope. Skye, we still haven’t made it to George’s drive yet. Hitting my third shot here. And so you’re telling me if I go for this pin, it’s going to hold. It’s not going to trundle to the back. It might trundle to the back, but at least it could go in on the way by. Yeah. You You see that cliff over there to the right and it just does something to you. I’ll tell you what, this one I didn’t know this one got up so far. This is real bad. This is real. So, it’s a little longer, but honestly for us, it’s a better hole because we don’t It doesn’t get as narrow up there. It’s kind of Also, to be fair, it’s up higher. It’ll be a little prettier for the camera. You good to go. Let it rip. Uh, well, it’s not my tea, but I’ll take it. We’re We’re ready golfers out here. Threewood here. There it is. I got to say, I came off of uh the Champions Retreat Major Cut, playing some of the best golf in my life. Since then, I’ve been in a little bit of a rut. Yeah, you’re also playing hard golf courses. You got to remember, you’re not playing as bad at golf as you think you are. I mean, we’re at Quail Hollow, Oakmont. I mean, these are some of the toughest courses that the highest level golfers play. So, I think you’re being a little too hard on yourself more so than you’re playing back up there. You’re you know what? You’re still Mr. Classic in my heart. Yeah. You want you want to create a classic. Hey, that was a fun little run there. Game was in a great spot. Right now, it’s we’re just we’re searching a little bit, but we’re going to get it back. Um it’s been tough, you know, cuz just always living over outside that cut line. It wears on you. And I know how Wesley’s felt his whole career. Okay. All right. All right. I’m just That was a joke. Dude, this is insane. Look, look at this hill we’re about to hit over. Play some music here, Sky. Man, felt like I really played the hole. Nice. Bunker shot just rolled out a little too much. Keeps us one outside the cut line, but we are on to a par three here. I I think this is the most iconic hole. It’s I do. It’s when I think of Pebble Beach, I think of this hole right here.
