Don’t Buy CHEAP Golf Hitting Mats Before Watching This

If you’re thinking of buying some cheap golf mats, like the kind you see on Amazon, you’re in the right place. I did a review of five mats that I bought on Amazon, and this is actually a follow-up video on one of the most important topics that I kind of forgot to address in the first one, and that is sports injuries. Oh my arm, it’s broken. Good lord. Golf elbow and wrist injuries. The good news is I have a potential solution for you. And I know that you are uh young and strong and invincible and you would never hit the ball fat and chunky. And so you’re not prone to injuries, but just in case uh I do have a solution for you and I I’ll tell you how I solve the problem. Also, if you want to watch the first video where I reviewed all five mats in more detail, I don’t want to recap and restate the whole thing here. I’ll put a link uh so you can check that out. So, let’s dive into a little bit about injuries from cheap golf mats. The one that I’m sitting on is was a 15 mm thickness and the other one that’s right here was a 5 mm thickness. And you know, the common wisdom would be that the more cushion, the thicker the golf mat, the softer it’s going to be on your elbows and your joints. However, I found that the thicker mat actually does more damage when you hit the ball a little fat. I’m going to try and demonstrate that. And I’m not sure how well you’re going to be able to see, but on the thicker mat, the club gets caught up a little bit more than on the thinner mat. So, if you’re thinking of getting the thicker mat just to help avoid the sports injuries, that’s really not going to work. You can almost see how the club just bounces off there and the stress on the elbow is it’s just it’s not good. So my solution was a hitting strip. So what I did was I took the mat, the thicker mat, and I cut a little hole out of it just with a razor knife. And this is actually the Go Sports Tri turf mat that this was previously attached to. So, all I did was peel that off, place this under my existing mat, and now the hole that I cut out of the 15 mm mat, I just place that in there like so. This cut in represents the rough, but it’s nice and thick and it works out pretty good. This part represented thinner rough and that also fits in there. [Music] So now you can see there’s a slight difference in elevation on this mat versus the hitting mat, but it’s not really a big deal. It works out just fine. One other tip here is to use a little rubber tea. tie a string around it so that when you hit the ball just makes it a little easier to recover your tea. Also, if you do happen to use the hitting strip from the Ghost Sports Tri Turf, it does hold a T if you want. There you go. All right. So, there you have it. If you’re going to go with the 15 mm mat, just know that it will catch the club a little worse, if you will, if you hit it fat. If you go with the thin 5 mm mat, it won’t catch the club if you hit it fat. Uh, and I think it’ll be a little less likely to give you that sports injury, golf elbow, um, or wrist injury that you’re looking to avoid.
