Paige Spiranac blasted her haters on the red carpet of the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere in New York City.
Spiranac, 32, has received backlash from many golf fans who criticize her golf attire for being too risque. Spiranac clapped back at the detractors.
“I just try to embrace who I am when I talk about that,” Spiranac told People. “My main message is always do what you want to do, wear what you want to wear.”
Spiranac played collegiate golf at the University of Arizona and San Diego State University. She revealed that when she made the jump to professional golf, she often felt uncomfortable with what she had to wear in competition.
“I started wearing tank tops and leggings, and it just caused such an uproar of just people upset,” Spiranac said.
She went on to add that people would tell her she was “disrespecting the game” with her choice of attire.
